Caroline / Raising Rover is THE BEST trainer or consultation you can ever turn to if you and your doggy both don't know how to continue dealing with certain situations. She gives solid, straight forward advice and dogs (and their humans) just LOVE her. Any dog that is.

My dog, Beau, had been through basic obedience training. But at 2 years old, I was finding him generally reactive on leash, both to strangers and to certain dogs. After trying all the techniques I had learned in our puppy classes, I hit a wall. I was becoming more nervous when we walked, feeling like I needed to be hyper-vigilant all the time and to notice anything Beau might react to before he did. I reached out to Caroline and with one quick session, she restored my confidence in both myself and Beau. Caroline equipped me with clear techniques and followed-up with detailed notes we used to practice. And she reassured me that I was already doing well, I just needed to finesse some of my techniques. I noticed a huge change in Beau during the very next walk. We began enjoying longer walks, with less pulling, better focus and far less reactivity. I also feel like we developed a stronger bond as Beau seems more confident and he looks to me now instead of reacting. Caroline was warm, patient, clear and available. It really felt like she approached me and Beau as a unique case, rather than following a rinse-and-repeat formula. I felt that her assessment and advice were highly personalized for both me and Beau and that she really cared about setting us both up for long-term success. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Caroline for any challenge you’re having with your dog, whether it’s a minor tweak or a major correction!

I definitely recommend Raising Rover for the Puppy Life Skills Course. I learned a lot about raising a puppy and Bailey, a shy Coton, became more confident and social in the small group and calm atmosphere of Caroline Applebee’s’s classes.

Caroline's approach to training is very effective. She is knowledgeable about everything from healthy treats - to proper collars - to how to engage your dog. She is very thorough in understanding dogs' problems before private training sessions so that she can provide solutions each dogs' individualized needs. After a private training session she sends an email with personalized and detailed instructions. She also follows up on training sessions to ensure that everything has worked out perfectly - not just one email, but rather constant communication. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to achieve a happier and healthier relationship with their pet.
