Came here because ive heard lots of good things but really dissapointed with my experience. The girl who started my nails had no clue what she was doing and another lady had to take over. Its been almost two weeks since they did my "solar nails" and theyre already coming off. Do not reccomend coming here.

These were the WORST set of nails I have ever gotten. I can barely even type this review because I want to die every time I have to take a look at my hands. All wanted were freaking squovals. Is that so hard? I wish I could post a picture because this description will not show the h e l l I’m living with on my hands. On top of the shape being uneven on all the nails, the forms don’t even cover my whole nail. They also don’t go anywhere near my nail bed and they look like that 100 layers of nail polish challenge, but WORSE because they have bubbles in the colour! What a waste of $40. Ruined my graduation.

Just got back on the gel nail train and I couldn't be happier with this salon! The technicians were great, quite gentle. The Vietnamese coffee was delicious, the selection of polish, the atmosphere, and attentiveness of the artist were all great. Plus, as someone wanting a quiet relaxation, I was able to listen to my music in one ear without being too distracted. OH and don't be scared to go downtown, they will pay for your parking!

I loooove, love, love this place. Best nail place ever. I’ll drive hours to get a fill or pedicure here. They have a great points program. Manager or owner is always friendly and manages to fit me in. Shapes are amazing and they can do great designs. Fast service as well. Always have a coffee or water. Some girls I would prefer over others but they all do excellent work!

The wonderful Kim, Gina, Candi did my nails! They did a great job and so far the only at Downtown Nail Spa to correctly file an almond or coffin shape for my nails. They ware very attentive and willing to fix my nails to whichever way I desired!! :) Super friendly and the place is very clean. So happy to come there.

They really are the best nail salon. I go for solar nail & Shellac Pedicure and I unfortunately tried way too many places in the city before I found The Salon Downtown Nail Spa and now I’ll never go anywhere else. Every nail technician is just as good as each other so you are never disappointed with the quality of your nails or spa pedicure and they have so many colours. Great customer service and also very clean. I always recommend The Salon. The best pedicure and the best solar nail.

This is my second visit and the detail and care on the design I wanted was seriously top notch. There are only 2 things that would make this a 5 star and that is more effort to ensure the nail dust gets sucked up to avoid customers inhaling that dust or offering them a mask as a courtesy and secondly is to ensure each station is carefully swept after each client.

I went for a new set of acrylic nails, the lady who did my nails cut me multiple times, was very rough, and completely rushed the appointment. She tried to over-charge me multiple times by saying they were solar when they were just acrylic, said it was extra to make them the length I wanted (which was maybe 1-2cm longer than my natural nail). The end result was completely botched; they looked thick, lumpy, polish was uneven, the nails were crooked, and there was a lot of acrylic left under the nail. She spent more time talking to her coworkers than focusing on the nails. I would never go back here, would leave a negative rating if possible.

This is my go to place. I’ve been to numerous nail places and this is by far the best in town. I’ve been happy with not only the service but the price and regardless of the type of polish it lasted until my next appointment. Went to get a simple manicure and they rushed through the whole process. They ask you 10 times about getting “shellac” even when you say NO. Busy looking out the window and not even paying attention. The lady working didn’t even try to clean under the nail when it was clearly dirty. Tried covering it with nail polish until I asked her to clean under the nail. My nails are still uneven from previous gel nails & they didn’t try to file it down. There was no hand massage, just an application of lotion. I would not recommend going to this nail salon.

Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Good nail painting skills. Too much time spent on leg scrubbing and buffing. My heels are still a bit rough, maybe 30% softer than before I went to the appointment. I also noticed I still have some calluses on both feet too, it's a bit disappointing to have to still do more buffing at home right after the appointment. More focus on the bottom of the feet and less on legs would make my experience a solid 5 out of 5.

I used to go go here for nails. One of the operators, a man, used to deliberately nip my cuticles with the scissors and I would bleed. I had the impression he did it on purpose. This happened twice. Terrible service. Gel nails are very sloppy, bumpy, uneven. They rush to get you out so they can get more customers in. Fingers and toes only get cut and bleed when they use the filing machine. Should be quality or quantity, as I understand the more people they take the more money they will make in the moment but people aren’t gonna come back with bad work and rushed service, they won’t make any money in the long run. Salon is very unsanitary. The owner is extremely rude and unwelcoming. Don’t bother her to fix her sloppy work or she will yell in your face and make a fuss.

They force dipping powder on you, they do a horrible job every time. You have to really argue in order to get them to redo your nails. They rush through it every time. They don't seem to take pride in their work. And they barely speak English so it's very hard to understand them. They use their cell phones frequently as well. You pay good money to have your nails professionally done and they do a half assed job... it's disconcerting.

Love to go to Designer Nails. Very nice, have someone to suggest you the color of the season or simple to choose your own. Shellac is the best option for me but sometimes is difficult to choose the nail polish color since they have too many!!

Went there for a pedicure and shellac manicure. No care was put into the pedicure. Came out sloppy and uneven and was not enjoyable more stressful than anything. $60 for all and didnt even cover getting cuticles or cleaning done before shellac polish. Just unfortunate to see even when busy that care wasnt put in. Will not be returning. Update pedicure is a complete mess by the end of the day.

Absolutely terrible. My experience was so bad that it has led me to my write my first Google review. I got in right away for dipping powder and asked to get my old dipping powder off, and 3 hours later I walked out. The scheduling was so poor that there was one worker for every two customers (hence the 3 hour appointment that should have been an hour). Regardless of the tools you use, it should not take an hour to remove old dipping powder/shellac. You can buy acetone from the drug mart and do it at home in 20 minutes, so why does it take Oscar's an hour? When I went up to pay I politely mentioned that I had been there all night and he didn't say a word and charged me $60...and my nails are so so. I called three times the next day to chat about the situation (they were open), and no answer, which is also poor business practice. I bet his response to this review will not be to rectify the situation but to play the blame game. I know lots that won't ever go back, and either will I. My advice, respond to all of your online reviews (positive or negative) and remember your not just responding to me but everyone who reads your reviews, this is your opportunity to make things right and show readers you have made the customer happy again. Focus on your customers, one at a time.

Have been many times and each time the place becomes more cluttered with STUFF all around. They need to put water and juices in a storage room and tidy up. Could use a good dusting all around as well. Staff sitting around on their phones.

I came here before and I was very satisfied with my previous manicures and pedicures. I’m satisfied that the tools they use are sterilized! Today I got a pedicure done and the lady working on me was in such a rush and she did not do multiple things- top coat, push cuticles back, trim my nails when I asked the second time. This place is good to go to, but it totally depends on the worker! I came in with a another individual and I was waiting about 20 minutes for her to be finished, this definitely shows how the worker was in a rush and forgot to do many things! I am considering going else where!

Gone there twice, had to go back after the first time. My shellac was bubbling up and just didn’t look good, some newbie did my nails. I had to drive back the next day for them to fix it and I was happy. So I went back a second time to get my nails done again. my shellac started peeling off two days later and I couldn’t be bothered to go back there. I’ll pay more money and go to an actual salon next time to get my nails done. Waste of money and gas that was.

I used to really like coming here. Girls were friendly, price is right but, today I walked in not another customer in the place and a girl comes out of the back looking annoyed as hell. She asks how she can help me...i ask if they are open for pedicures and she literally grunts and points a chair! As I'm sitting down I ask her if she's ok and she grunts again! I ask are you sure? And she flatly says, ya don't worry. I've had this girl do my pedicures before but today she was having a completely 'off' day to say the least. This place has been slipping in over all service and I'm looking for a new place.

Went to get my eyebrows done and they then proceeded to talk in a different language about my eyebrows being done. Then the girl who was very hesitant said she would do them..I asked her if she's done it before and she shook her head no. I then told them I'll wait for someone to do them that has done them before. Then closing time came and they didn't do my eyebrows and asked me to come back tomrow. Don't waste your time going to this horrible establishment! Nothing worse then them speaking in a different language talking about who is gonna do your eyebrows and who is qualified. Never again!

I love Star Nail salon. I always can get in, no appointments or waiting. Staff are fast, skilled (I always get hand painting) and pleasant. I also get brow waxing at same time. Prices are less than other places. Highly recommend it.

Love this place for pedicures. Val is the best and I always ask for her to help me when I come. It is worth noting that they don't take appointments and only accept walk ins so be prepare to line up on busy hours or come by on slow days.

I just went to get my nail fixed that I broke, I called and they said it was $3. I go in and she don’t even know what I’m saying and I wait at least 20 minuets for someone to even start my one nail. She starts doing my nail and then doesn’t finish and goes and does someone else’s nails. then I wait 10 more minuets for someone else to come finish my nail. She does it and it looks so bad it wasn’t even the same shape as all my other nails and so bumpy and crappy. Then she puts the nail polish on and then puts the clear polish on when the black was still wet so it wouldn’t set. Then I go to pay and now it’s $5 when I was told $3. Not to happy with this place. It shouldn’t take 40 minuets to fix one nail.

The customer service was absolutely horrendous! I tired to get my nails done, but the employees refused to help me and my friends. They just ignored us for 7 minutes until they noticed we weren’t going away. We asked for help at the front desk multiple times but the ignored us each time. Horrible experience, would not recommend. I didn’t even get a chance to get my nails done because the employees refused to help me. One of them was also on a phone! Horrible customer service, would not recommend. 🙁🙁🙁
