The host Caroline made everything to feel her guests comfortable. She made breakfast herself every morning which was delicious. The rooms were clean comfortable and there was a very agreeable backyard to sit down and chill. The B&B was close to pretty much any attraction in the city. Loved the experience. Highly recommended.

Caroline has a beautiful old house and she provides incredible service and hospitality. My wife and I stayed in the suite with private bath which was great. We were there three nights, and every morning Caroline made a different breakfast. Would definitely stay again!

The B&B is perfectly located within easy walking distance to Old Quebec. In fact, the neighborhood is interesting in itself with excellent bars and restaurants left and right. The host is extremely caring for her guests, and we would go back to this property anytime for a second visit. The room is comfortable for the vacation traveler, and the breakfast is perfectly served with the heart around a communal table.

Exactly the experience I was hoping for on my first trip to Quebec City. The building is full of charm and character, and Caroline has decorated it beautifully. It's even prettier than the pictures! A very comfortable stay, with great beds, sitting areas, a tea/fridge station, supplies in the bathroom like a hair dryer. Caroline is a lovely hostess who can offer recommendations for what to visit and fixes a delicious breakfast every morning. Is located in an picturesque neighborhood just 10 min away from the gates to the Old City, and has much easier parking than you find in the Old City. There is free on-street parking overnight and on the weekends, and Caroline can put your car in her garage if you can't find parking. The B&B is very easy to access from the highway, if you want to use this as a base to explore the parks or Ile d'Orleans outside the city. I felt very comfortable here as a solo female traveler and would highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Quebec!

My wife and I with our grandson shared the two rooms on the 1st floor (that is the second floor is in the US) for 4 nights. The bath was shared with these two rooms alone. They opened on to a sitting area with a TV, refrigerator, and microwave. We were able to have the comforts of home. ||||The location was excellent. We were driving but did not move our car except to go the Falls just outside of Quebec City. It was wonderful to explore the old city on foot as if we were in France. ||||A highlight of our stay was the owner Caroline. She did it all with a smile. Breakfast each day was different and very good. She was very helpful with questions about the city. ||||It was a great place to stay and very much in the sprit of historic Quebec City.

Absolutely loved our stay in 2017 as the start of our retirement trip. Francois was amazing as our host and couldn't do enough to make us feel at home during our stay. The breakfast he made for us both days was excellent, and he even went out and picked up wine for us one evening, and set up a small table outside in front so we could enjoy the surroundings. We would definitely go back there and would suggest it to anyone!

My husband and I stayed in the Library room during our recent weekend in Quebec City. We absolutely loved everything about our stay! The room was exactly as the pictures depicted, and each room was different. (Anik gave us a little tour before we checked out.) We are looking forward to returning to stay in the Dovecote room, which has a door that opens to the balcony! ||Breakfast both mornings was extremely pleasant- the fresh baked croissants were flaky and delicious! Both Francis and Anik went out of their way to engage us in conversation and teach us about the history of the house and the city. We would have happily spend another week here just to have more interesting conversations with them!||Our friends stayed in the Chateau Frontenac, which was also nice, but we felt those rooms lacked the coziness and old-world appeal of the B&B here. ||We plan to return for another visit, and will definitely look to stay here again! Honestly, one of the best b&b's you will find. The hosts are amazing, the breakfasts were so delicious, and our room was charming, clean and comfortable. Such a unique experience and walking distance to anywhere you might go in Old Quebec. Highly recommend.

This B&B is a gem within the already bright and shiny crown of Old Quebec. Seriously- you need to get to Quebec right away and stay here. The Marquise de Bassano is a home away from away home. Innkeepers Francis and Anik warmly welcomed me and my group of seven middle schoolers. The decor is cozy with many artistic and unique choices. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The rooms on the 3rd floor do share a bathroom, but this was not an issue for us. Plus the shower in this bathroom is a stress relieving rain shower.|Another stress reliever is the amazing breakfast that Anik sets every morning. She greeted me with a smile and a cup of coffee, but it was the smell of the fresh croissants that brought me to the table. Other breakfast choices included fresh fruits, egg, tomatoes and cucumbers, sliced ham and cheese. Different mornings Anik served chocolate muffins, cheesy croissants, quiche and blueberry bread pudding. Cereal and toast were always available for breakfast, but I can have those when I get home- hand me a croissant!|The B&B is conveniently located to shops, restaurants and museums. Francis and Anik are a great resource for places to go and for stories of Quebec. |Take a quick flight and head north to a bit of the Old World in North America. Be sure to book a stay at La Marquise de Bassano to complete the magic.

Great location, near a lot of sights and things. We were able to walk from here to basically anything in the Old City and around Place Royale. The included breakfast was very good. The room we were in was smaller than a typical hotel room, but not too small. And with so many things nearby to do we didn't spend much time in our room. The building was constructed in the late 1800s, but in good condition. Minor quirks due to the building's age should be expected, but are a fair trade to stay in a historic place like this.

Very conveniently located. We walked to everywhere we wanted to go in Old Quebec. The breakfasts were wonderful. They serve many different items, from eggs to fruit to pastries. The hosts were very friendly and helpful (make sure to ask them to tell you the story of the parakeet!) My only complaint was that parking was an extra fee, though reasonably close. I do understand that this is common, so we got over it. We would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at this lovely B&B for a girls weekend near the end of November. The atmosphere was fabulous and oh so welcoming! Veronique was a friendly and gracious hostess for the 12 girls in our group. She had great suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. The location is perfect for seeing everything in the city on foot. The beds were comfortable and the food was amazing!! I would definitely stay here again and I have no hesitation in recommending it for everyone who is visiting Le Vieux-Quebec.

So homey and corfortable. Beautiful to return to after a very cold day walking the beautiful streets of Quebec City. Perfectly located and yet quiet. We were lucky to experience the berry bread pudding at breakfast and will request that for every breakfast next time. Can’t wat to return. Our host were very welcoming, knowledgeableand pleasant to visit with. Great choice!!!

Great place and very friendly owner/staff. Gorgeous 123 yo home in the old town inside the wall, an easy walk to many great places. The B&B is in great shape with the historic charm but important updates (bathrooms). Many great conversations at breakfast with other guests from all over.

Positive: I enjoyed that the place was clean, small, and calm. It is nice to rest there and to work if needed. The location is good. I appreciate that I could check-in earlier and leave my things on the day of departure.. Negative: I would prefer more varieties for breakfast: eggs, ham, and cheese would be nice, as well as more vegetables.

A beautiful B&B in a beautiful location. We were so well looked after and the breakfasts delicious. We stayed on the top floor in a room with 2 beds and a balcony (where we would chill our drinks and keep our ice-cream in the snow which was a novelty). There wasn't a fridge or kettle in our room but we enjoyed going down to use the facilities in the common room. We would love to come back to stay again one day.

Positive: The communal breakfast, the old world charm of the property and the courteous staff.. Negative: The private bath was detached from the room (accessible through a separate door adjacent to ththe room door).

Positive: My dad, sister, and I really enjoyed our stay just before Christmas. The location is fantastic. The beds were very comfortable, the breakfast was good, and it was fun to meet other guests. Everything seemed very clean and well taken care of. Thank you Claire and Marjorie.. Negative: The parking area was very icy when we arrived. The parking spots are narrow, so it was tricky to get the car into the garage while skidding a bit on the ice. I'm sure it would have been easier for someone who is more used to parking in tight spots. That said, having parking included (even though it was icy) was a definite bonus for us.

My wife and I spent 4 nights here in the Whale room. We came in late, but were able to make accommodations even though it was outside their check in hours. Every morning, they had, juice, followed by a small starter (something like yogurt or scone or smoothie), followed by the main dish (which you were able to choose from two options). The presentation was always really good. Nicole and Claude were helpful if you wanted to know what to do in the city, and it was usually pleasant talking to the other patrons around the breakfast table. The whale room itself was good. The windows open onto the street, but we didn't hear a lot of noise. The one annoying thing is that the bathroom (for the whale room only) was down the hall instead of attached to the room, but they did provide bathrobes to make it easier. The location of the B&B is fantastic as it is right next to a major road, which has a lot of cute restaurants and stores.

Very cute and comfortable stay in the bear room. Breakfast was amazing every morning! Claude is an excellent cook and accommodated us vegetarians really well. The location is very central, right inside the old town, close to everything. Claude's recommendations were excellent for restaurants and things to do, we did exactly what he said and had a great time. Highly recommend.

Great location within the walled city. Everything is walkable. Was there for Carnaval with my two teenaged sons in the Whale Room. Spacious room with flat screen TV and private bathroom with shower stall including shampoo and shower gel. The real treat of this lovely Bed & Breakfast was the delicious breakfast each morning prepared by the very friendly hosts Claude and Nicole. Met some very chatty folks from Maine and Nova Scotia, with conversation flowing easily switching back and forth French and English. All in all, I would highly recommend Le Coureur des Bois as a very well-situated and (if not for one’s kids being present!) romantic getaway. Much nicer and more “Québécois” than a big chain hotel like the Delta, Hilton or the Chateau Frontenac.

Positive: The day starts with a fantastic full breakfast that was delicious,and their location is very central to many attractions, shops and restaurants.

Positive: The hotel accommodations were absolutely lovely. The room was clean, comfortable, fully stocked, and the bed was heavenly. The breakfast was delicious and the host was hospitable and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and again.

We stayed here for the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. This is my first time in a Bed and Breakfast and Claude and Nicole have definitely opened my eyes to this world. The service was wonderful and the breakfasts are really good, they always taste fresh and are very innovative. The room was also really good with the beds being very comfortable. We made use of the wifi which was really fast and there was also a coffee machine in the room which we never used. Overall a great stay, would definitely recommend and stay again!|

Positive: Really nice place to stay, quite and on the lake. Super breakfast and super hosts. Good facilities including laundry and a terrific restaurant Balifol recommended by host in next village. Very comfortable room and a lovely relaxing stay. Negative: I should have read my directions more carefully and I am damned glad I got there in daylight. The SIGN for the B/B was a bit difficult to see in daylight and almost impossible at night. A light over it would have been nice but nothing detracted from a good stay

My husband and I stayed during our honeymoon and could not have been more happy! The location is gorgeous and the rooms are unbelievably cozy. We were served a different breakfast each morning (each as delicious as the one before- and we are desperately searching for recipes to recreate them!!), and had access to kayaking on the lake whenever we wanted. The room itself was spacious and cozy- it had so many amenities, we were never in need of anything. Can not wait to go back!

Omg, what a hidden gem. So close to everything. The photos don't lie online. A great treat for a quick stay in the heart of the city. So many good restaurants to walk to in the area. Breakfast so yummy. I was happy to take with me some whole fruit of the dining room table for the day. They have thought of everything, so accommodating, English is also spoken. Was a referral from a friend and I am also giving my seal of approval to share And recommend. Very quiet, a great rest after so many hours of touring the city. Great value! A shot of part of the bedroom. Very well upgraded with modern conveniences while keeping the integrity of this opulent chateau. Pinch me did I really stay here?!

Beautiful and unique B&B. Great location- within walking distance of the old city- great local restaurants and small shops. Loved walking down the street everyday and going past that beautiful church then coming in to the B&B with classical music playing, warm cozy lighting, and fantastic Louis XVI style furniture. Felt like I was staying in a museum.|We stayed in the “library room” which was a little smaller than I expected but loved being surrounded by books. Lovely chandeliers. The price/value for the room was on point which definitely adds to the 5 star rating. The other rooms were definitely more ornate. Love the painted windows above all the room doors.|The bathroom was large, cleaned and resupplied everyday, and my favorite a removable shower head/wand. |To top it off our bed was made while we were out and lovely chocolates were left on our pillows.|The bed was smaller than I expected but not an issue, 2 people can sleep on it comfortably just close together. I found the bed too hard which didn’t help my back, but my boyfriend loved it- the firmer the better for him.|There really wasn’t a place for 2 people to sit together and enjoy each other’s company comfortably in the room. The bed is a Murphy bed and doesn’t have a back support so you cannot sit upright in it comfortably. There is a high back chair and a desk with a sitting chair. Not to take away from the room but I would suggest getting rid of the dresser (drawers had stuff in them) and the high back chair and put a loveseat in that location.|The desk and other chair were beautiful. There is a closet to hang clothes and plenty of electric outlets.|Nice wood floors. |Quiet at night.|There was a small TV located near the floor on a little shelf but there was no remote and no signal/cable. Basically the TV didn’t work- which also was not a big deal because the WiFi is excellent and I like to read.|Breakfast was yummy- eggs/tomato/toast, supply of cereal, bread, jams and jellies, meats and cheese, large bowl of fresh fruit, and your own pitcher of coffee.|Our host was polite and nice though not very talkative but we are not either. I am sure he would have answered any questions we had if we had asked.|All in all a lovely stay- we would come back again and we would recommend this place to others!

A wonderful sympathetic restoration of a 19th century Quebec Chateau. Parking was available with our suite for both of our visits in October 2018.||||We stayed in Le Boudoir de Josephine located on the 3rd floor. Lots of space but best suited for people under 6' tall as the ceilings are not high.||||Philippe was quietly efficient and warmed up as he began to know you. Terrific breakfast with broad selection of cereals, juice, cheese, ham, eggs toast & fresh fruit.||||Located in the Faubourg section of the old city, a residential neighbourhood with restaurants, grocery stores, SAQ (liquor store), and pretty much everything else you could want. Just a short 15 minute walk to the walls of the old city. Once you cross the wall, everything seems to cost 20% more.||||We live in Toronto and will now visit Le Chateau as our midway stop on our way to visit our daughters in Saint John, NB.

Built in 1880, but looks more historic, and has been lovingly restored. Philippe the proprietor was very kind, putting out an early breakfast for us due to 8am departure. Bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. Wish we could have stayed longer!

We enjoyed our three nights here, leaving our car in the B&B's garage during our entire visit. It's a very pleasant 15-20 minute walk to the old city with interesting shops and restaurants en route. We chose the Library Room because of its second-floor location and the abundance of books. The room was well equipped and picturesque. ||Be advised, however, that the double-sized Murphy bed has a somewhat uncomfortable mattress. Though my advance inquiry about that possibility brought no response, we decided to take a chance. On balance the room's virtues balanced that deficiency.||The free parking is a great bonus but be sure to speak for it ahead of time.

The location is great as it is right behind the Chateau Frontenac. We loved it!. Negative: The price was mentioned as $93 on booking.com but we were charged 1$59.93.

Super comfy bed. Nice host who leaves you in private unless you need anything. Help yourself style simple breakfast with muffins, yoghurt, cereals etc. All in all, a great stay.

Positive: Yannick was a great host. He made changes to our reservation to better suit the needs of our family. The room was spacious and clean and beautifully decorated. You couldn't beat the location, right in the old part of the city. You could park your car( and parking is available at the house) for the entire duration of your stay and walk everywhere, which was key for us! At breakfast, the fridge was fully stocked with anything we wanted to eat. Overall a perfect place to stay! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Quebec city!. Negative: there was nothing we didn't like!! it was brilliant!

Positive: Large room with funky old furniture and images on the walls. The bed was comfortable. Breakfasts were nicely prepared and served. I was able to check in early and to leave my bags until my afternoon train.. Negative: The only bathroom was rather far from my room.

Positive: This is a very decent, clean and easy place. The location is good if you like to walk. There is a steep set of stairs just inside the front door. Robert, the owner, is very helpful and full of the history of the area.

Negative: Location is 15 min bus ride from Quebec’s main area in the Old Town, which cost us $7 cash each per day in bus fares which bought our spending money up a fair bit (bus ride was very easy and frequent though)

We stayed 3 nights on the top floor in the Summer Room with 2 beds, lounge, fridge, large bathroom & balcony. We were greeted by the owners on arrival & they took our luggage upstairs for us, they also gave us great advice on what to see in the city.||The breakfast each morning was imaginative & very, very good. ||Thank you Josceline & Dennis for a great stay.

Wonderful hosts, delicious breakfasts with excellent presentation, comfortable beds, nice clean rooms with modern bathrooms. Also great location only about a 15 minute walk to the wall of Old Quebec and very close to Plains of Abraham and Jeanne D’arc Garden. A real gem!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at B&B Quatre Saisons. The room was spotless and comfortable; breakfasts were fantastic; and it was a pleasant walk to the old city. There is also an interesting area of restaurants and shops on the nearby Rue Cartier. It’s one of the nicest B&Bs we’ve stayed at.

We had a wonderful experience at this B&B. Our hostess was perfection, she was charming, knowledgeable and a great cook. She was so attentive to our needs and paid special attention to my daughter's allergies to certain foods. The B&B was pretty close to the old city and so we walked most of the time leaving our rental car at the B&B (how convenient was that?) I have one word for this B&B....BRAVO!!

Joscelyn and Denis were wonderful hosts. The place is very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and Joscelyn made sure to accommodate special needs. A heads up about the autumn room. It has a nice big private bathroom but the stall shower was tiny. My husband and I are not big people and found it small. So consider your size when making your reservation.

We had such a good three-night stay at 4 Saisons! Our hosts Joscelyne and Denis were charming and totally natural. Joscelyne cooked the most amazing breakfasts, creative and delicious. It was such a pleasure to meet her and such a sadness to leave. The house is full of beautiful artworks and decorations, and our room was very spacious and comfortable. The B&B is within walking distance of Old Quebec, one of our favourite places in our 6-week vacation.

We stayed there for two nights and loved every minute we spent there. It's clean, cozy and the breakfasts were delicious! The location is also great: 10-15 minutes walk to the old town and lots of supermarkets and restaurants within blocks. ||||Joscelyne and her husband are wonderful hosts! We had a very good time.

Joscelyne and Denis were very warm and absolutely delightful hosts. They are great ambassadors for the city with valuable knowledge of places to eat, things to do, and where to visit. The B&B is located about a 25 minute walk to downtown though the area it is in is a very trendy neighborhood with a wealth of restaurants nearby and a short distance to the park. Their breakfasts were delicious and hearty. The rooms are very well kept and clean. We were scheduled to be there for 4 nights but had to leave early due to a serious illness in our family. Josceylne went out of her way to accomodate us by finding another renter for one of two remaining nights we had booked so it saved us considerably. We plan on getting back to Quebec City again soon and would definitely stay at B&B 4 Saisons.

A very nice man greeted us on arrival with good English. The room was small but clean and functional in a nice quiet neighborhood. Breakfast was good. No a/c. Room had a nice bed with extra blankets. There is parking for two cars in the driveway and plenty of street parking.

Positive: Very friendly and helpful owners, comfortable rooms in a quiet neighbourhood, quite close to the university Laval.. Negative: There is not much around except the university, but there is a direct bus nearby to go to the old part of quebec, which is very convenient.

This quaint home located on a safe, quiet neighborhood was the perfect place for my stay in Quebec City. Breakfast was great and filling. The room was clean and tidy every day. The owners take a lot of pride in their B and B and it certainly shows.

Well run B and B on quiet street. Very clean and fresh even new towels everyday. Lots of shops and little local resteraunt close by. Breakfast was great lots of variety attractively set out. A good value for money so close in. We used a parking web sight and found underground parking at the parliament buildings for $18 for day bus would have cost $14 but you have to be early.

Great accommodation, excellent buffet breakfast, friendly and helpful service. Located in a good and easily accessible neighbourhood, on a neat and peaceful street.

My husband and I are not usually patrons of bed and breakfasts but decided to choose this one based on previous reviews. We were not disappointed. From the gracious welcoming to the delicious buffet continental breakfast, we were made to feel completely at home. This hotel is tastefully furnished, impeccably clean and the hosts are available but not hovering. It is situated on a beautifully mature treed residential neighbourhood within walking distance of great restaurants.

Positive: A very Good breakfast. And a staff friendly.. Negative: Missing an office in the bedroom with a chair at his height to work

The place is pretty special, first, because of its aesthetics, second, because of its location, and third, because of the amazing breakfast, a different option for each day of stay. An excellent choice to stay if you go to Quebec.

Positive: The staff was very courteous and accommodating and put genuine effort into making guests feel welcome and comfortable.. Negative: The building is a historic building, so it is fairly old and comes with its quirks.

Positive: This delightful home is managed by a friendly and helpful person - Khalid. Homemade yogourt and fresh squeezed juice for breakfast before the main course. This is a 7 minute walk down Rue St Jean to Old Quebec gates and Khalid has recommendations for restaurants, etc. We would stay here again.

Location good. Hosts not there upon arrival at agreed time. Breakfast was very basic . Entrance doorway was steep and very narrow, difficult to get through with even a small bag. None of the fridges worked very well, and no ice available. It was certainly a work in progress. Would not return or recommend. Large room on main floor looked nice.

We stayed here for one night and it was our absolute delight to meet Mary, stay at her place and feel like we were at our home away from home. From helping us with our no-fuss reservation, helping us find best rates for our rental and cooking us an awesome breakfast, this place is a MUST stay at in Quebec City. Other than that, there are not enough words to describe Mary's kindness, her helpful nature and her warm hospitality. As someone who has travelled the world and stayed in many hotels, La California B&B is one of the few delights of my travel adventures.

I would highly recommend Bed and Breakfast La California to anyone visiting Quebec City. Mary is an incredible host, who takes care of all your needs. Why stay in a hotel, when you can have all the comforts of home with a gracious host and a wonderful breakfast? Mary is a lovely, generous and interesting woman. She is very attentive to all your needs and is also a great conversationalist, with amazing stories from her travels. She made us a wonderful breakfast, with some of the best croissants I have ever had (and I have been to Paris). My only regret is that we could only stay for one night, as we were just passing through Quebec City. However, we will absolutely be returning to take in the sights and will be staying with Mary again when we do!

For most b&bs, the focus is on cleanliness and coffee/tea in the morning. With Mary's,. those issues are important, but she is a key element. She could found Uber-mom; you don't just stay in her house, you stay with her. She suggests restaurants and routes, and has still-warm croissants or a baguette for you in the morning with jams that produce Pavlovian responses on your second morning. By the second morning, she handed my wife a cup of coffee, the way Sandy likes it, as Sandy entered the dining room.||||Her house shows her eclectic personality; books that beg to be read and artwork that tickles new spots in the brain.||||But to get to the basics: the rooms and her backyard invite you to spend quality time there, and you must remember that to see Quebec, you are obliged to force yourself to leave. The house is quiet, in a residential neighborhood worth a walk in itself. Off-street parking is behind her house, and Mary can help direct you to public parking in various parts of the city.||||Staying with Mary is a going-home while visiting Quebec.

Ill-prepared for an extremely crowded night in Qc city, we had the misfortune of having found no place to stay in spite of dozens of calls to neighbouring hotels and hostels. Mary was truly a lifesaver when, against all odds, she picked up the phone at 10:45PM and graciously offered us a better place to stay the night than our cramped car.||A quick 10-15min drive from downtown Qc city, the B&B is a beautiful house with a gorgeous backyard. Due to the last minute nature of our request, we were lodged in the basement. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. In addition, we had the privilege of having our own bathroom and shower. In the morning, we were treated to a delightful breakfast composed of home-made crepes with fresh strawberries and maple syrup as well as croissants, jams and coffee. ||Mary was a caring and attentive host. Over breakfast, we had the chance to hear of her fascinating adventures around the world. We even got the opportunity to tour the rest of the house which is filled with artefacts collected from her numerous voyages. ||We are thankful for Mary's genuine hospitality and kindness. In spite of our stay being only 1 night, we really enjoyed our time at B&B La California and hope to visit again in the near future.

Holy mackerel, breakfast every morning was croissants fresh from a bakery, fresh strawberries from Orleans island (fresh picked) and french jams. No that's a lie, it was more than that for breakfast ohh and homemade crêpes. Anyways, french hospitality to the maximum, Marie treated us amazingly. The rooms were all classy and clean. She just has a really really nice house and knows her city. You wont be disappointed go see it

It's a very beautiful B&B, and parking is excellent, the rooms are outstanding, we wanted for nothing, it's easy to find, and very convenient when visiting Quebec. The breakfasts were excellent, and more than enough to fill us up for our busy day. Mary, the owner, is a wealth of information on Quebec, and what to see, and how to get around the city. We will definitely be recommending it to all our friends.

I was pleasantly surprised by this marvelous bed and breakfast right in the middle of old town in Quebec City. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, and they even have parking spaces for guests! The hostess, Florence, made us a delicious breakfast with some local maple butter to taste.

Very cute and cozy place, with a nice breakfast spread. The hosts did not speak English, and we din't know French, so there was some hand-waving and use of Google Translate! Was able to tandem park in the back for free, and had to leave the keys in the foyer so that they could unblock other cars. One star ding because our double-queen room on the 3rd floor had a nearly transparent bathroom door, which also not sound-proof.

My hubby and I stayed here for 4 nights in late September to celebrate our anniversary. Pascal is a wonderful host, and although he claims his English is not good, it is so much better than my high school French! (FYI - High school was a LONG time ago!) We stayed in the family room, as it was the only room available, even though it was just the 2 of us. There are 3 full-size beds and I have to tell you, these are the most comfortable beds and linens I have experienced in quite some time. And the breakfasts? Well, they are very hardy and delicious! The location of this B&B is perfect - in the old city, and within walking distance to all the attractions - Citadel, Hotel Frontenac, and so many awesome restaurants. Pascal told us where the hidden treasures were, and encouraged us to try places we would not have found on our own. Incredible experience in an awesome location...HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The only "drawback" ( and this is subject to perception) was that the parking, although off-street, did require Pascal to have your car keys so he could move cars around in his back courtyard. We had a brand new car, and no one drives my husband's car but him, so we did not do this, but just giving you all a heads up. Pascal is very nice and his female co-host does not speak English, so she and I had some fun with me trying to explain we had no shampoo, as I could not recall the French word for shampoo. But the comfort of the room, the plentiful breakfasts and the premier location certainly overcame this very small issue. Please stay here - you will not be disappointed!|

Great location, walking distance to the chateau. Very clean, friendly service, Ok breakfast. We stayed in the family suite and it was more than enough. Towels, shampoo, etc; provided. WiFi was alright. Free parking. Very cool!

Positive: The location was ideal, the breakfasts were delicious, the staff were efficient and friendly. Our language barriers made it a little challenging, but overall our stay was excellent.. Negative: It surprised us that they did not accept credit cards. We had to find a bank to obtain cash.

We just spent 3 nights at this place. It was a last minute booking as our dates changed. I was hesitant at first to book it because the pictures show dark rooms BUT it couldn’t have been far from reality. We were in the room named Cartier and it was bright, HUGE, had a wonderful view of the Chateau as well as the ST. Lawrence river. The beds were comfortable, shower was strong with very good hot water and the fridge was a welcome amenity. There was a small room attached that allowed my husband to work and watch TV without bothering my 5 yr old and myself as we sleep. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. The best part of the stay though is Jolanta with her warm and welcoming hospitality. You can’t go wrong with this place. Get past the pictures and book it.

We felt like royalty visiting a beautiful castle. ||Traveled with my family in February during winter festival. Jolanta and the Castel were friendly and welcoming with true french style. The accommodations were luxurious. We opted for the single room and it was more than ample for four adults. The room was huge, with huge windows and beautiful artwork. All details were tended to including a delicious breakfast and fresh coffee daily.||The Castel is located in the old city within walking distance of shops, restaurants, museums and historic sites. ||We look forward to coming again. Can't imagine another place as special.

When in Quebec, you simply must stay in the historic fortified city to fully experience, and fall in love with, this beautiful, picturesque old Euro-French city! Castel d'Amerique Francaise is the quintessential elegant French town home. Faithfully restored, beautifully decorated, and utterly charming, this lovely French B & B is impeccably run by owner Jolanta Tardif de Moidrey, who graciously welcomes every guest as though they were dear friends whose visit was long awaited. The period decor is gorgeous, the abundant art is an exquisite bonus, the parlor and dining room are welcoming, the suites are huge and magnificent (often with amazing views of the old city), and the sumptuous breakfast buffet is a divine way to begin one's day. There is no elevator (caution if stairs are a challenge) and parking is a couple of blocks away in a secure parking garage. We are grateful to our charming host for a perfectly lovely experience!

Our family really enjoyed our stay for three days over Christmas holidays. This B and B was recommended by friends of ours. It is beautifully decorated and newly renovated while maintaining its historic character and charm and the location in old Quebec was fantastic. It was a 15 minute uphill walk from the train station. The hills gave us some good exercise. Our boys appreciated the WiFi. The bedrooms were spacious and clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were very comfortable and the self serve breakfast had many healthy delicious choices. One evening our family enjoyed playing board games in the large common room. Our hostess Jolanta was very helpful, friendly, down to earth, and made us feel at home. We would definitely return to this B and B for another stay in the future.

We spent two nights at castel d’Amérique during Christmas holiday. Everything was perfect. The rooms were very spacious, with beautiful decorations and lots of character. The location is ... wonderful, in the heart of old Quebec. Breakfast was really tasty with jams, breads, home-made cakes, all types of cereals, eggs, cheese, ham ... Thank you !
