Philly cheese sandwich was one of the most disgusting things I ever ate in my life. It tasted like sh!t. Made with the cheapest quality soggy bread. The meat was garbage, the sauce, the cheese, it felt like I was eating prison food. I will never order anything from that place again. It reminded me of those Gordon Ramsay Kitchen Nightmares videos where he orders something and feels absolutely disgusted lol. I almost want my money back.

Best poutine I've ever had. Would drive to Montreal from Ottawa just to have a meal. The brisket as well. My wife had it and had me try some and it fell apart in the mouth. Absolutely phenomenal service. And amazing prices for the quality. 5 star food in a friendly saloon style hangout.

Great place for BBQ craving. After a great experience with their food truck near work, my friends and i decided to go feast tonight and boy was it a good call. Super happy with the experience, our waiter was very nice and knowledgeable advised us in advance that they sold out the pork belly. We ordered fried chicken pieces, brisket poutine and 4 meats with 4 sides ( brisket, double portion of ribs & chicken) their house sauces was amazing, meats were moist & well smoked. Amazing flavor and coming again without a doubt. Two thumbs up and most definitively worth it. Great jobs guys!!!

They call themselves American BBQ but clearly no one has visited an American BBQ joint. Service was terrible and do not bother ordering the bourbon pecan pie!!! It's a processed tart from Costco or something like that and it's the size of a postage stamp. Sauces we're unique and it's why I gave it 2 stars but the portions are too small and too inconsistent. My wife and I both ordered brisket and got different quantities. And for some unknown reason there is no Mac and cheese side dish ever, and there was no potato salad available during my visit. I can't recommend this place

Cool place with a hipster vibe. Open kitchen in the back adds charm to the place. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Huge wine selection but limited draft options on beer. They have wine specials on Sundays, you can even buy a box if you want. Food is pretty tasty, perfect place to order and share.

The taco place that needs reservations. The menu is a bit short on variety (do you really need 5 types of tacos on a menu, and nothing else?). The food was good and service was reasonable. The corn fritters were excellent and yummy. A bit more sauce on them would be nice. But not required. The place can get loud and seems to cater to the hipster crowds. Large tables. The coat rack was bursting apart and very unstable. The front door has a slab of cement you have to step over, so those with limited mobility should be careful. Parking is offered in front of the restaurant and is usually full. I'd give this place a higher rating if it had a bit more variety on the menu. Otherwise, it's an ok place.

Love coming here. If you recognize the name they do have a food truck as well. This brick and mortar location is in an old renovated garage kind of in the middle of nowhere (at least not where you'd expect a resto to be). I'd recommend making reservations. It's a popular spot. There is parking. Tacos are delicious, filling. The decor is cute. String lights everywhere. It's not all that expensive either for food anyway. Great for groups, friends, low key dates. #hipster #taco #cheapdining

We really liked our food. We had the Papas78, veggie and fish tacos and everything was good. The Papas78 was the best garlic potatoes we have EVER had! It's a MUST when you stop here to eat. The restaurant has a large patio, huge indoor area and parking. Has a vintage vibe. Prices can add up quickly if you're really hungry. $30/person plus drinks should be sufficient. We will come back. Haven't tried their food truck.

Last time when I was in Montreal this was a hot restaurant. Without reservation there was no way to get a table. 6 years later I finally had a chance to try it. The vibe and service was just as great as I expected. I ordered the special. It was good but not great. Lots of wine selection but I feel the price was generally higher than that of Toronto.

What is there left to be said about this place? A cozy welcoming environment that serves delicious food everytime I visit. Just be prepared for that fact that the food can be quite rich, but regardless delicious. Duck in a can, and any dish with foie is always amazing. To those who have been here should always check out their sugar shack for more delicious eats!

Can't stop talking about this place!! Make sure you make reservations. We ordered the duck in a can... We were curious and we were delightfully satisfied! The foie gras poutine was really nice and we also tried a special salad with fresh crab meat, cucumbers, yogurt dressing and mint! Everything was delicious. The staff were fun and provided great wine pairings along with superb service. A little pricey but great for a special occasion!

Fun experience - very showy. The food was pretty good (sometimes a bit too much acid, especially the Lobster Tea). I had the 7 course menu and it was definitely enough food and entertaining - a good amount of effort into the interesting presentations and concepts. The sea bass was my favorite course - beautifully cooked, pleasantly meaty fish. Surprisingly heavy focus on desserts in the 7 course menu, which even came with a surprise cocktail (gin and....watermelon?). There were a couple of solo diners including myself. One group even brought their baby, stroller and all, which was surprising for fine dining, but the baby was well-behaved. My French is terrible, but the staff accommodated me by speaking and explaining in English. Not a must-do as a tourist, but worth it. I went on a Tuesday night in early Spring, and it was very easy to get a reservation on the same night.

The new location is much nicer than before, it's more spacious and open. We went to celebrate a birthday, we had the 7 course tasting menu. The food was very good, it was a nice journey. The service on the other hand was a bit lack luster, a couple of dishes weren't even explained to us. The tables to our left and right were getting in depth explanations of their dishes, for the dessert portion we had to resort listening to the explanation given to the table next to us.

First off, the service here is everything! The staff is so professional and so attentive, you can really tell a lot from type of restaurant it is from the way that they treat their guests. The presentation of the food is beautiful, entertaining even, the food is delicious from beginning to end with their desert course and gift bag at the end. Loved it !

The service was slow. We arrived at 8:10 PM and did not finish until 1:30 AM. I got very tired. There were 4 of us, we all had the tasting menu. The food was excellent but just too much waiting between each course. It really took away from the experience. It is extremely expensive, you expect no flaws. And I am sorry to say, it was far from perfect. I will not go back.

They have a 12 courses option as well as a 7 courses option. Overrated and unimpressive restaurant. Food wasn't bad but of all places that serve raw dishes in Montreal this bistro is by far the one with the least tasty dishes. Ingredients did taste fresh however. Service was very courteous and accommodating which is why it is getting two stars. Would not return; paid nearly $100 for two people for something that isn't worth a quarter of that. Would look elsewhere for raw dishes.

Melissa! Melissa! Melissa! This place serves good food which is a fusion of French tartar and Japanese... order any of the tartar and you will not be disappointed. What makes this place stand out is the service that Melissa provides; I had the pleasure of being served by her at the start. As I was alone she tried to be friendly and recommended really good entrees unfortunately I think she had to leave and I was then served by others who weren’t as effective or attentive. I would come back here only if she serves me.. I also noticed other people left notes for her! The owner should give her a raise as the restaurant would not be the same without her.

Pros: Very well made drinks (bloody caesar). Bilingual staff. Very friendly staff. Tartares were tasty. Cons: Time it took to take our drink and food orders was a little long. There didn't seem to be enough chairs and they had these fancy box seats instead. I enjoyed my visit and am happy I tried this restaurant, but I am unsure if I will be returning or not.

Not the worst but far from good. Had never been to one of these but I learned it's a local favorite, with origins in the 60's. The odd "pancake" buns this place uses may have been a novelty back then but I was not a fan, I found them dry and un-complimentary to a burger. Like most chains, the condiments are loaded on very heavy, completely removing any chance to actually taste the burger. The patty itself was so thin, the "burger" tasted like a ketchup, mustard and relish sandwich. There are better options.

A classic, one of my go to spots. They have their own style of burgers and it tastes home made. This place has alot of history and they are proud of it. Yes the burgers are flat and the house sauce makes the edge of the bread a little soggy, this is how it is meant to be people! It's like a burger with a twist of sloppy Joe, but leaning more towards a burger. Just go for it!

I really loved this place. They have a simple menu featuring Cambodian and Thai classics. Food quality is high, you can taste the freshness of the ingredients used, and the spices are not overpowering. The portions aren’t big, so if you have a big appetite, I recommend getting starters. Service-wise it could be quite slow sometimes during rushes, but the staff is always friendly and the food is worth the wait. Overall it offers a good value for money, and it’s a BYOW.

while they do have an ice cream truck, i've only bought from their boutique which set up shop last year in what i call the saint-édouard neighborhood which is between st-laurent/st-denis. what they do is ice cream and its some very good ice cream. may not be the best but definitely a worthy maker. so far, i've had their soft serve which is quite decent but what i prefer was their hard ice cream. i had it in the form of a chocolate chip pistachio ice cream cookie sandwich. while the cookies were very sweet, that pistachio ice cream was good. together, its a very good combo. on that day, they had another sandwich which was vanilla ice cream in between brownies but i got scared of it.. price wise, its up there as the best in town but without being as good. verdict, a tad expensive. and its cash only. soft serve on the other hand is incredibly cheap, less than $4. they don't have wifi but you can poach on the one from moustache café next door. all in all, good ice cream in a neighborhood that is lacking a bit in terms of ice cream options

Over priced, dirty, and unsanitary. I can't believe what I saw one early morning on July 17,th,2018. A food truck in front of Complexe Desjardins, on a very early, humid morning. about 6 bags of cheese curds plus 5 bags of meat on the counter, not being refrigerated whatsoever. Shame on them!! The food court on Bleury and St, Catherine, again, very dirty, over priced, and unsanitary. Where are the city food inspectors??? One stand is selling a Falafel sandwich for $10 dollars????? Another greedy food stand is selling a slice of pizza for 5 dollars?? I guess these greedy food stands are not happy making a 60-70 percent profit, they want 100 percent profit. Only suckers are buying and eating un-refrigerated food.

last year I really enjoyed bouffons; this year, there seem to be less food trucks on st. Catherine, and less interesting trucks/stands in general (not a lot of 'big name' food trucks). Plus - I went on a Sunday at 12:30, on a sunny 28 degree day - I saw at least 5 stands that were firmly closed, and the first two places I tried to eat at were 'open' but not ready to serve food yet. Last year I remember a real smorgasbord but not this time.
