I was disappointed with Young Drivers and would not recommend taking their classes. My instructor (his name was Lane) was terrible and unsupportive during the teaching process and practical driving portion. He refused to pick me up at my home downtown as all instructors normally do (i.e. as Young Drivers arranges for students) and made me come up to Summerhill to do my driving lessons. The roads were unfamiliar and he was often rude while he was teaching. In one instance he didn’t show up for a lesson and he claims it was due to traffic from a baseball game but he didn’t even have the decency to call and I waited for over an hour. I had taken the train in from out of town to attend this lesson and Young Drivers refused to apologize or refund me for this session. As a student, the extra expense of having to commute to Summer Hill and also the train ticket from the missed course was a huge burden. For the exorbitant fee to take their courses, I hoped for better customer service and teachers from YD.

Matt Snowball is one of the most patient teachers I have had the joy to have. He was very good at showing me things and he taught me defensive driving very well. The in class instructions were very engaging and informative. Also had the opportunity to learn from Jonas as my driving instructor and was able to obtain my G2 license. He was great. Being new to driving, it was a bit challenging for me at first but Jonas was patient and helped me learn a lot. I can definitely say Globe will make you a better driver and get you on the roads if you don’t have much experience.

When I first met my instructor there was another student in the car, I guess he had to finished his lesson and drive back to his drop off point.I told to my instructor I have 8 years driving experience in another country so I will need some refresher here in Canada. I drove around my Lesson lasted maybe for 1 hour Next lesson, I was driving around and again he was on his phone. I stopped at a stop sign and it was my turn to turn since the car across from me arrived later. I was about to turn, when the instructor looked up, he panicked and yelled at me. I told him that if he wasn't on his phone he would've see that the car arrived later and I had right of way. He then said "oh ok, right". Later he wanted me to drive and pick up another student because their lesson were starting soon... I would not recommend

I had the most amazing experience with Jonas. He is honestly the best instructor ever! He teaches you everything you need to know and is very patient with you. He makes you feel very comfortable driving. He tells he from right to wrong and takes his time to explain everything you need to know before you test. I had an absolutely amazing experience here. Both with the in class and in car instructor. I have to give the biggest thanks to Jonas. He was the best driving instructor I could’ve asked for. He was kind and patient but most of all he got me to get out of my comfort zone. He believed in my driving, even when I didn’t. He was amazing at building my confidence as a driver and allowed for me to ask as many questions and he answered every concern I had. I passed my G2 on the first try because of Jonas. Generally I find the company a very good place with which to conduct business. Everyone was very professional. My in class instructor Dan was a very good teacher. As someone who learn to driver later in life I was super nervous. I had to driving instructors from Young Drivers of Canada. Mike was the the most amazing instructor anyone could ask for. He is knowledgeable and patient. This winter was my first time driving in the winter and everything he taught me was useful. I absolutely could not have driven through those snow storms of 2019 without Young Drivers of Canada! Thank you for making me a confident driver.

Our son sucessfully complete the classroom sessions and 7 out of 10 in car lessons. At the suggestion of his instructor, he held off doing the last 3 in car sessions so that they could be closer to when he would take his in car exam with the Ministry of Transportation. He neglected to tell us that all of the in car lessons needed to be completed within a year of starting with young drivers. When we went back to schedule the last 3 lessons, they informed us that too much time had elapsed, and that he would not get a certificate that the ministry of transportation would recognize as having completed with young drivers. While we were only months late, they would not yield, even though it was their instructor who suggested we hold off on the last sessions. Not impressed at all with their lack of understanding. Also not impressed that they don't have systems in place to warn people prior to their artificial time limit expiring. They are the 800 pound gorilla in the drivers ed world, and they are certainly acting like it.

I would highly recommend the Young Drivers program! Specifically, I would reccomend the instructor Peter! He is patient, kind, extremely knowledgeable about anything and everything when it comes to driving and handling a vehicle, not to mention he has a demeanour about him that makes any somewhat new/nervous driver comfortable. He made this process extremely easy for me to pass my drivers test for the first time. Great experience going with this driving school. Instructor named Marshall was really knowledgeable, reliable, and helpful. I passed my G2 with just one attempt all thank to the him. He provided a lot of pro tips throughout his class as well as on the road experience. The information he provided throughout his lessons was very constructive to ensure that you not only pass the test but it will certainly help you with your day to day driving situations. I will definitely enroll for my full G license exam practice with Marshall again next year and highly recommend anyone to take up the class and experience it for themselves. On top of it ,as additional note: Marshall is a photography enthusiast (pro). I found out only during our G2 exam day, if only it was earlier, it would be really great to have someone who is reliable, helpful and shares the same hobby with you.

I went with Toronto Central Driving School for my G2 in-class and on-road training and can give a full 5-star review. They have a knowledgeable and friendly staff, and most importantly their results speak for themselves (in my cohort we had a 100% pass rate). My instructor was Marshall and he taught me everything I needed to know to pass the road test and become a safe driver. If you are in downtown and want to pass your road test on the first try, you cannot go wrong with TCDS. Be sure to choose Marshall as your instructor, who is one of the best in the business.

Toronto central school helped a lot on how to pass the test except for all the actual stuffs we need in real life. My coach helped me drove through all of the possible routes for at least three times before the test, and I found it really helpful, which helped me pass my G2 test easily.

i came here after reading good rating but i am really sorry im so disappointed i couldn't understand my teacher's thick accent and if you dont understand what your coach is telling you how you are going to learn ? we almost had an accident due to poor communication, i dont wana be rude but clear communication is first step when you are going to learn anything and especially when you are learning driving its even more important coz its very dangerous skill to learn a small mistake can cause huge trouble.

I have nothing but high praise for YD! The in class lessons were very informative, without being boring and helped improve my base knowledge of the rules of the road and common mistakes that can lead to collisions. The real treat though is the in car lessons! My instructor Marin instantly made me feel comfortable in the drivers seat, something I wasn't sure was possible. As a slightly older "young" driver I was worried about the dynamic between student and instructor, but while Marin was extremely professional, he kept me laughing and never made me feel negative about the learning process. You know you have a good instructor if you can afford a laugh at your own expense while attempting to parallel park! The in class lessons are pretty good and teach unique defensive driving techniques. They also offer very flexible packages so that you can attend once a week, every weekend, or even for a week during the summer or March break. They make it really easy to get your 20 in class hours and I have to admit I learned a lot even though I thought I knew the road rules very well. As for the IN CAR lessons, they were so much fun and a great learning experience for me. My instructor Bill was super confident and calm with me. I have never met a man so collected while driving w a new driver. He's also a very enthusiastic coach who will explain things to you in a clever way so that you will never forget. I still remember his "a car is like a kid at a carnival" metaphor as he taught me to inch the car up to the centimeter with slight ankle movements. This helped me with parking and stop signs etc. The first 5 lessons are very information heavy but the last 5 one hour lessons are usually dedicated to strengthening your weaknesses. This also depends on how quickly you grasped the first 5 lessons info. This course undoubtedly covers everything you would want to know even highway driving and tricks for avoiding the yellow light switching on you. Lastly I would like to address the price difference compared to other driving schools in etobicoke. This school is 10/10 worth it simply because the instructors will not be "creepy" nor will they EVER cancel on you. When you book a lesson they will be there 5 min early waiting for you. Not to mention it is super easy to book a lesson with your instructor as they end up providing you with the office booking line and their own personal line as well. Great school. I have never regretted this decision. It's been a full year since I attended the school and I have been accident free and am about to get my full G license next month :)

The only reason I’m giving this two stars is b/c the in-class lesson was convenient to my schedule, and had a good instructor. I still apply some lessons I learned from it. The in-car lesson however was a terrible experience. I had Kelly as my in-car instructor. My G1 was expiring soon (my fault I admit), but she suggested I rush to do my G2 test when she found out it was expiring (I didn’t mind doing the G1 test all over again so that I can take my time with the in-car lessons). As a result I was pressured to do extremely well during each lesson in a short amount of time (in a span of 2 months). The rush in learning everything in a short amount of time resulted in me failing my first attempt at my G2 road test. She was very tough during each lesson. There was never a time I felt comfortable driving with her or driving at all. One minor mistake she would yell or be snappy at me. She was not personable, and did not try to get to know me or ease my nervousness, as it was very evident that I showed anxiousness behind the wheel. Multiple times she was late picking me up, most importantly on the day of my G2 road test she was 30min late. Her hours were also not flexible. Due to me working full time I was only available during the evening or weekends and it was always a struggle working out an appointment. At the beginning of each lesson she would struggle to remember what we covered or the lesson we needed to work on. I understand that she has multiple students but it showed that each student was not unique or memorable to her. We never practiced general parking (forward or reverse parking). As a result I failed at this during the road test. Going into the road test I felt like she knew I wasn’t going to pass and kept on saying, “at least you’ll have one more chance after this,” instead of more encouraging, positive words. Overall experience with her was bad. She would give little positive feedback and did not feel genuine. After every lesson I felt like a failure. And every time I had a lesson coming up I would feel so dreadful and unenthusiastic about it. After failing my G2 road test, I had to switch driving schools, as each additional lesson was very expensive, and I could not stand my instructor anymore. Once I switched schools and instructors, holy cow the experience was night and day. It was only then I was able to pass my G2 with flying colours. Do not take this driving school. Don’t wast your money. There are other, more affordable, government approved, great driving instructors out there.

The instructor I initially had that was also my in-class teacher had a van, and my blind spot was massive and I voiced my concern to him. Right from the beginning (before I even started driving), he said I need more lessons and to practice with my parents' car (my parents don't have a car). He proceeded to talk down to me throughout the lesson - telling me about how his wife is also asian and doesn't drive well like I do, and it took her a long time to learn. In-car he would be managing the breaks the entire ride and wanted me to just steer - how am I supposed to learn like this? Also - my first in-car lesson wasn't in a parking lot.. It was directly on the road - not just any, he picked me up at Dundas Square. After a handful of lessons with him I felt like I learnt nothing and wasted my money. I moved homes and thus was given a new instructor. His car was smaller, easier to handle, and he was a nice guy. I should have had him from the beginning, would have learned a lot and much more quickly. I went in for my scheduled G2 test but the Young Driver's Head Office made a mistake - I showed up ready to take a test that wasn't my scheduled time. The alternative time they had written in, did not work for me. Their suggestion was either the week or week or two after on a Monday, otherwise not until August. I needed a license as soon as possible. I told them Monday is difficult for me and I wasn't sure - they said it was best if I booked anyway to reserve my spot and let them know ahead of time. They were also unable to accommodate what I paid for (lessons prior to the G2 Test as a refresher due to my instructor being unavailable prior to this newly scheduled Monday appointment). I found out Friday evening that 100% I was unable to make this appointment time. I expressed this to my instructor and he told me to call the Head Office - they were already closed. They are closed on weekends. I had no choice - I had to miss this appointment. The woman who called me in regards to this had a very angry and irritated tone with me. I told her my priority was to be at work if I am on on-call because I cannot afford to miss any shifts when living paycheck to paycheck and trying to make up for the money lost on this expensive school. I had already earned my certificate but she told me I would get charged an extra $100+ and would need to pay $600+ if I wanted to work with the same instructor and use his car for the G2 Test. I was crying on the phone. She had no empathy. Just might as well be belittling me throughout the entire conversation. Are you kidding me. This is how you handle and treat cases like this? Ever since this encounter I have discouraged every one I know from attending this school. A complete waste of money. I could have went to any other school to obtain the same education and probably would have had better customer service as well.

I am a regional trainer with Young Drivers. I am now in my twentieth year of what I originally considered to be a temporary job. What changed for me was learning that Young Drivers figured out many solutions to driving problems that I had never considered. We teach how to avoid virtually all collisions including rear enders and head on collisions. We also teach our instructors how to teach effectively, keeping things positive and creating a positive learning environment. I think it really depends on the instructor. It really has to be someone you get along with and are comfortable with. I learned a lot from my first instructor but I felt very nervous around him and to some extent he made it seem like I wasn't meant to drive and I wasn't learning fast enough, so I took that to heart and almost developed a phobia. Then, an incident happened where I accidentally hit the curb to cause a flat tire. It wasn't a huge deal but it was embarrassing and he was quite upset. I took a break then started with a new instructor and it was like day and night. He made me feel great about myself, we got along because we had similar personalities and he was able to observe and pick up on what I was doing wrong right off the bat and corrected it. I've never laughed so hard with anyone teaching me how to drive. I think he's great. So great that I'm not going to disclose his name til I pass so he doesn't get booked up lol.

Great experience! The classes were taught by people who were passionate about driving and teaching. As with all people, some are harder than others, but all worked to make sure we were ready to hit the road safely. The format of the practical driving class is well thought out and is a good progression from start to finish. AMB was a great experience! I felt like I learned quite a lot about driving, and the aspect of driving. The teachers are likeable, charismatic and informative, especially Bob; not to discredit other teachers of course! My only critiques are the price point and sometimes they can be fast with the explanations especially when you have to copy and write down what’s on the presentation. Other than that, I highly recommend AMB!

I feel that many of these reviews are not genuine and AMB has bribed many here to write false reviews (with Tim Horton gift cards, most likely). The ratings are skewed dramatically. Take this review as advice and a warning, new drivers. AMB is a terribly-run driving school, which should never see the light of day. The in-class lessons are informative and engaging, that I can't deny. While the presenter jokes around from time to time, he does get his message across. However, when your in-class lessons are finished and you are to start in-car lessons, that's where the problems start. Their in-car instructors are rude and unprofessional... When we contacted the driving instructor our personal details as per his request, he called us back saying he does not have any availability, period. He could have taken some time to look in his agenda to find days that work for us both and THEN call back. What's the point of calling us, when you can't offer us anything?! Oh and he, for literally no reason, was abrupt in his tone, despite the fact that we were being very polite and courteous. As my family has had previous experience with this driving school, there is a bunch of things that made me upset upon signing up. My instructor has made me do his errands by driving me around during lessons. He is short-tempered and occasionally makes racist remarks about Asian people, white people etc. The instructors will rip you off every chance that they find. I pay for 1-hour lessons which end up being, like, 35 or 40 minutes. They also charged me $100 to use their stupid Corolla for my G test, which smelled disgusting. You're better off being instructed by chimps. I really doubt that this money-hungry driving school is ministry-approved. Please take your business elsewhere, like Young Drivers of Canada or something. At least you'll earn the respect you deserve.

I was pretty bad at driving before AMB. Sam Chong was my in class instructor and he had an abundance of knowledge related to how to drive well and safely. Then Hafiz Ateeq was my in car instructor, and he was equally knowledgeable, but also had all these good tricks and was able to explain complicated driving tasks and make them easy, even for a beginner like me. Amazing experience, they made it just as fun as it was practical.

I had Raky as an instructor and he was amazing! I had gotten my G1, and then didn’t drive for a year, so I was apprehensive getting behind the wheel. He was attentive and helped build my confidence behind the wheel and made our sessions enjoyable. He can be hard on you at times, but that’s all because he wants to make sure you’re ready for your test, and ready to drive safe, and be safe on the road. I was nervous at first because I signed up for only 5 lessons, didn't have my own car, and was afraid that there wouldn't be enough time. It was more than enough. Worst experience ever.i was assigned to an instructor named Mari, the lady not only was doing her nails,talking by phone or doing her make up while we were on class .she never corrected or mentioned any of the critical mistakes i was doing for my drive test,which obviously was a fail.i found something cheaper and a better instructor somewhere else and i passed my test after only 2 classes.they even arranged me an early booking 3 weeks before my initial appointment.

Brisa is honestly the best thing my parents signed me up for! I thought at first that I wouldn't need it because I had experience driving but I now think it's necessary for any driver. Learn how to parallel park, 3 point turn and drive with confidence and ease. The instructors are great, Manu for in class is hilarious and very helpful, while Walter for the in car is stern yet wise. Brisa was a great experience, I learned a lot about driving defensively, and my driving instructor Walter reinforced the rules every lesson. It really helped me and I'm glad to have chosen Brisa. If you are anxious about road tests or driving in Toronto in general, have had some trouble finding a suitable driving instructor / school, have been through a couple of instructors whose communication skills were not great and whose teaching style didn’t suit your needs - it felt like all they do is collect money and provide harsh reproving criticisms about your driving with no solutions or guidance, I would recommend DOING SOMETHING DIFFERENT - taking some classes at Learner’s Academy. This is the school for you. I took my classes with Albert who I feel is a very good teacher and instructor. What stood out (for me) is his patience, constructive feedback, communication skills, skills in building confidence, and teaching technique where he helps you visualize your problem, provides a solution to overcome this problem, ingeniously revises his teaching technique if the problem still persists, and works with you to ensure that ‘you are on track’. He helped me master each of the techniques that would be covered on my G test and then some... and kept the focus of our lessons to be on long term defensive driving for my safety vs just learning what I needed to to pass my test. These guys are great. Stanisa is a very through instructor and makes it easy for you to learn the rules of the road. He made me feel confident that I would pass my test on the first try. Olga works in the office and she was very helpful with scheduling my test and lessons. I'd give Triumph 6 stars if that was possible. Don't bother looking any further because you'll be hard pressed to find a better school anywhere. Thanks Triumph.

I am very happy I chose this driving school and would recommend it to anyone. The administration is really efficient and Olga is super quick to respond to emails. I expected the in-class portion to be extremely dull, but Stanisa is funny and engaging and it flew by. He's a comfortable person to be around and the one-on-one in car lessons are fun and relaxed while being informative. His instruction is clear and helpful. I passed my road test on the first try.

Stanisa is such an excellent instructor — I will recommend him to everyone I know. He was patient, knowledgeable and instilled the confidence that I needed to drive in the city. All of my lessons were private — I did not have to drive anyone home, which really allowed me to get the most out of each one hour lesson. It was also incredibly easy to book lessons by email. I ended up passing my road test on the first try! Highly recommend.

Great overall experience! Stanisa is a firm but fair instructor (with a pretty damn good sense of humour, too). After only four in car lessons, he was able to break the bad habits I'd developed over (many) years of driving with my G2 license, and I passed my G test on the first try. Triumph Academy is a great place to learn how to drive whether you are a beginner or not! In class the teacher is very informative yet relaxed. In car lessons are great! The teachers are professional, the lessons are private and they really make sure you are learning and practicing the right and safe way of driving. Homework is relatively easy and can really help with learning the rules of the road. The price is excellent for receiving a very professional school with well trained staff. I was able to pass my test on the first try and receive insurance for a very good cost. Would highly recommend :)
