The worst place to get your taxes done They are really nice until it is time to get your cheque, then umi comes up with a reason not to give you your money. Says she has to call the government to see if I owe them even though the paper right in front of her says I don't. She pulled the same thing last year. All they want is they're fee. Do Not Go Here! We went in for an instant refund, only because our car broke down so we NEEDED cash fast, (normally we do our own returns). Our prepper seemed to be in training but he was quick and a supervisor double checked everything twice so we were thinking everything would be fine. Then after everything was signed and they were cutting us the cheque they informed us that we would only be getting a little over half of our "Instant Refund" and they dont know why. We would likely get the rest from head office who actually handles the money. We were at first told it usually takes a couple weeks but really could be any day and if we hear anything we can call back but if we dont receive anything by mid April then definitely call him. We heard from CRA a week later stating that our assessment was complete and the $$$ would be sent to the tax preparer on March 18th. We called back to notify them but they had to talk to the representative who prepared our taxes. He (manager?, never once got his name) returned my call on the 17th to inform us that we shouldn't expect anything in mere days, that he; "never would have said anything less than four weeks" since it has to be mailed. He then tried to open our CRA account to verify our info but it was not working. He said to just wait. The next day (18th) our assessment was made available to view on the CRA website and it said that the $$$ (full amount) was sent direct deposit to our tax preparer (liberty tax) minus any fees they would have charged. I then called their head office to see if any answers could be offered as to why we would have to wait four weeks for them to mail us the remaining half of our "Instant Refund", they took our info, opened our file, made a "report", and told us that it take 24-48 hrs for someone to get back to us but gave us a ref number if we would like to check back in 24 hrs. Today upon calling to check back, we were told not to call them, someone from the local office would call me back. We are quite unhappy. Having to wait for any amount of time for a check that may or may not be in the mail (they dont know) is ridiculous and False Advertising. We paid for an "Instant Refund" and continually are getting the run around... 4 weeks is a slap in the face! If we had done this ourselves we would have received everything in full, without fees, and we would have received it direct deposit. Liberty tax received the full amount from the CRA, and the fees they charged us for their "service", there is absolutely NO reason for us to have to wait four weeks for the mail to show up (if it shows, they dont know). Seriously people, go elsewhere, everyone's been paid I full except us! You dont need the stress.

Last year they did my taxes and it was okay. However, I was going to use them again this year, but was disappointed with the negative customer service I received. I sent several emails to discuss my 2018 taxes to get the process started. No one responded to me until I followed up several times. Should it not be the business doing what they can to get the customer? Guess not in this case unless I have a billion dollar business then everyone will want my account. Also Mr. Alan had scheduled a 15 minutes chat with me to discuss my situation and never followed through. I had to call him during the session and he pretty much blew me off and took another call while putting me on hold during my session. I made a comment about why did he schedule the time then. He said I needed to be more flexible and not be so picky otherwise he would not work with me. Excuse me that is rude. I understand people get busy, but is that how you treat a client. THEN WHY SCHEDULE THE TIME. It's a waste of my time. Anyway after much consideration, I decided to not have the company do my taxes this year. I will find someone who wants my business and will treat me with respect. Even after sending him an email about his treatment, he responded with "Apologize for any inconvenience caused. I wish you the best of luck in the future." He also told me in another email: "I’m sorry that I could not be a better service. I really think you need to find a smaller accountant who can devote the time you need. " Why was I not told that from the beginning? Anyway it was a learning experience.

Could not be happier with the outcome of using Daniel Gray and his US Tax Services! After almost 2 years to the day of selling my in-laws condo in Florida, with the first year and a third spent utilizing a US CPA firm out of Florida, attempting to get the 15% withholding tax refunded from the IRS, to no avail, I handed the file over to Daniel. It should be confidential for both partners how much I could get from govt benefit for the kids instead the manager or the owner of the liberty spoke to him with out my permit. You don't know the situation on our expenses in our house. Not a penny he gives for my kids in his salary. Last year when u talk to him how much I get from the govt benefits for our kids it is not your business to discuss it to him.
