A few years back, Robert DiLallo helped us out when we were having some trouble with our old landlord. We had bedbugs in our apartment, and the landlord kept sending us nasty letters demanding we reimburse him for the exterminator. I contacted Rob about this and asked his opinion, and he explained that the letter this guy wrote to us was a farce, and was just trying to intimidate us. Rob sent him a letter saying that he had no legal right to try to claim money from his tenants, that he could not bully us like this, and our landlord finally backed off. Without Rob on our side, that landlord may not have stopped harassing us to pay him. Rob knew the ins and outs of the system, and he knew exactly what this guy was trying to pull, while to most people without law degrees that letter legitimately sounded like we were obligated to pay him. When a lawyer starts badgering you to pay him for something, it can be very stressful, but having a good lawyer on your side really takes the stress out of it. Rob was very knowledgeable, very personable and easy to deal, and very professional throughout our dealings with him. He always responded quickly to any inquiries we made, and he got the matter settled when we thought we might be in trouble. I was advised by him that the case would potentially be difficult to prove. He advised that the next steps would be for him to mail out a release for my mother's medical records so that he could determine if there was a case. I waited several weeks only to finally receive a letter in the mail stating that they would not be taking my case at this time. I know honesty is not typically a quality used to describe lawyers but if this law office had just been honest I wouldn't have wasted several weeks for nothing. I understand that the case might have been difficult but they didn't even obtain or look at the records. And just because a case is difficult doesn't mean that it doesn't deserve justice. I found their actions to be cowardice and unfair. And it's comical that after wasting several weeks of my time waiting for a release that never came, instead they sent me a letter advising they won't take me on as a client and additionally they so thoughtfully went on to advise(in the letter) that if I want to pursue my case, I should not waste time because of statute of limitations.

The last time I had a Workers Compensation hearing, I was told I didn’t need to be there, but went anyway. The person sent to represent me seemed to be ill prepared for the questions from the judge. He eventually just spoke to me since the lawyer didn’t have the correct facts, and I corrected the answers. I have had little contact over the years, as this is an open case, with my “permanent partial disability” not settled. I still have my medical bills paid when submitted, but should probably call them to update my case and see if I am entitled to more benefits. You have to be proactive, and the WC Board doesn’t allow you to change Lawyers...
