Dr. Mao is truly a wonderful optometrist. He is always knowledgeable, patient and caring. My previous optometrist passed away, rather suddenly. I was nervous choosing a new optometrist, due to being with my previous one since I was a small child! I had a foreign body in my eye for 2 days, and was trying to tough it out, but several of my coworkers suggested that I see if Dr. Mao could help me. I was squeezed into his busy schedule, and within minutes, Dr. Mao removed a tiny (but very painful) piece of plastic embedded in my eyelid. Instant relief! He is wonderful, as is Shania. I know now why he is so highly recommended. I have a new optometrist, and a very happy eye!

I had a horrible experience here at Dr Mao's office. My contact broke and once it did, I found out I had to pay $500 for the one contact lense even though I paid $680 for the TWO! it makes no sense, they just dont listen to reason and the secretary is very rude about it and only cares that you pay or leave her alone.

This small optical shop is amazing! Not only do they provide excellent eye exam service and quality products, they back them up with a no-fault 30-day satisfaction guarantee and great warranty. I know this because I was not happy with my authentic Ray-Ban Justin frames (too big for my face) and they are providing a full exchange that includes new lenses - they don't just re-shape the original lenses because it apparently degrades the optical quality. Can't remember the last time I was so impressed with a store's customer service philosophy and they'll be my go-to from now on.

I WOULD NOT recommend going here to anyone. They are friendly and seem knowledgeable. However- Dr. Chevalier noticed an astigmatism in my daughter's eye and recommended glasses. He explained no part of what was happening or why he recommended the glasses other than to say that if I didn't put glasses on her I'd be negatively affecting her brain development. I was scared and ordered the glasses. The woman that did the fitting of them is the only person that told me my daughter actually has an astigmatism in both eyes. My husband asked another doctor there for a second opinion and she simply looked at my daughter's file (never at my daughter) and said she stood by what Dr. Chevalier found. I felt so confused. I ended up taking my daughter to two different eye doctors (in a different city) that both said I should absolutely not put glasses on my daughter at this point in time. One even saying that they have no idea how Dr. Chevalier came up with the prescription that he did and that if we were to put those glasses on my daughter at this time we would damage her eyes. DO NOT GO HERE!

Nice place with a large selection of glasses and sunglasses. As soon as I walked in a staff member approached me and asked if she could help. She walked me over to their selection of glasses and gave me an over view of what she thought would look nice on me.

EDIT: Original post below. Melissa responded to my post with inaccurate information. First, the glasses were only a couple of years old. I stated the model number was partly rubbed off - although the only other company I consulted was able to figure it out without an issue. Secondly, my glasses are in perfect condition aside from one missing piece of trim. They are NOT "brittle", what a laughable comment from the management. It's simply untrue. They have no damage, and open and close smoothly. They don't bend, and have no loose parts. What was the purpose in lying about the condition of my sunglasses? What do you benefit from implying that my sunglasses were in anything but great condition? Third, the staff telling me to ask whoever I bought it from is hardly a solution. I explained to the staff, during our encounter, that I could not recall the name of the Toronto boutique where it was purchased, and that unfortunately, any solution related to the vendor was not possible for me. As stated in my complaint, "[t]he staff treated me rudely, impatiently, and offered zero help. They belittled me, as though my request was ridiculous. They rushed me out of the store". If the store wants to, for some reason, try and "re-tell" the story about my personal experience, I would appreciate it doing so accurately and factually. Rather than address my complaint, Melissa has chosen to assert false information, and deny my concerns. I was unhappy with how I was treated, and nothing in her response takes my complaint seriously. As I stated in my original post, "[t]here is no reason to treat customers, or potential customers, like unwelcome guests". This was the matter at hand that I posted about, and I am offended at the response I received. Saying nothing would have been much better, to be honest. Simply copy/pasting a customer service message does not address the unprofessional and unfriendly staff that I experienced. I will never enter their store again, and I encourage others to find an alternative store. Why spend your money on a place that doesn't treat people well unless commission is involved? ORIGINAL POST: I was referred to this place by Hakim Optical. I went in around a month ago, asking for help finding a replacement trim piece for a pair of Prada sunglasses. The model number on my glasses has partly rubbed off, and the staff's reaction was to simply tell me that there was no solution. I asked if they could help me figure out the model, or at least point me in the right direction. The staff treated me rudely, impatiently, and offered zero help. They belittled me, as though my request was ridiculous. They rushed me out of the store. I sent an e-mail and pictures of my sunglasses to another company, who easily informed me of the model, and sold me the replacement trim. The staff here needs an attitude adjustment. There is no reason to treat customers, or potential customers, like unwelcome guests.

I was due for a change and Melissa helped me find some fun and funky glasses. I went there for my first eye examination in decades. What I received was a most professional and comprehensive medical treatment that settled my concerns about my vision and had a most agreeably affordable prescription. The only concern was that I was not informed that the examination requires a temporary partial disabling of my vision in the process. A little forewarning about that side effect would not have been too much to ask to avoid some consternation during the appointment.

THE ONLY Dr. Office EVER who calls you after the appointment then charges you for that missed appointment. The first time I paid the hit but twice. Seriously. After getting the second message after the appointment I called her office staff who indicated I was called on the tuesday Prior @ 10.15 AM. by a SERVICE THEY HIRE OUT TO MAKE THEIR PRE APPOINTMENT CALLS '!!!!!????? . After calling my carrier no phone call was made to my number on that tuesday @ 10.15 . Maybe you should hire competent educated people that are smart enough to know phone companies can provide that information to customers. The other day I received a high lighted bill owing $50.00 how cute and high schoolish. What Your staff thinks people can not understand what a bill is they have to high light it for them. Seems they have all the time for that. So once again I called back to ask what number your outside hired service uses to make the calls from but was also informed I should have written it down. I even asked to speak to the Dr. who was apparently away on holidays . Would not take a message for her to call me when she gets back ... How pathetic and unprofessional is that. Not one other Dr. Office I use has not only never missed a call but have never lectured me about what I need to do with my life. or refuse to take a message. So I am still waiting for the number from your staff. Do I need to send a highlighted letter for them to get it. You have 2 weeks from this date to provide me with the information I am requesting IN WRITING !!!!! Its that simple, and if your staff is lying then that is another issue that will be dealt with professionally with your governing body and consumer affairs.

I can’t rave enough how welcoming this place made me feel. Dr Jason Morrison was fantastic!!! This was my first time in 10 years at the eye doctor and he went over everything thoroughly and made sure I understood. He made sure I asked if I had questions and was just a genuinely nice person who clearly loves his job. I highly recommend seeing him for any eye needs. I was extremely disappointed with my visit today - mostly because there were so many great 5 star reviews so I was hoping I would have a good experience here. The receptionist was amazing and super kind but once she got a representative to help me choose frames it was a complete 180. The representative barely spoke to my partner and I, never smiled, and only suggested one pair of frames. The whole situation was incredibly uncomfortable to the point where we ended up just asking to be left alone to look at the frames ourselves. I've had glasses for over 15 years so I was incredibly lucky to be able to understand which frames were good but for any new customer this would have been an awful experience. At the end my partner and I left without buying any glasses.

I love this place ... I have used other optometrists in the past and these guys are the best. Emergencies and needed appointments are handled in record time and what some people call "outdated equipment" work better than the computer-based ones as there is less room for error! (I know this to be true .. the computer based ones I got in an emergency when I was living in Argentina were tossed out as they were so off my Rx and the office mailed me replacements that were correct!!) I will miss Fozzie and this photos when he retires: he is a gem as are the "youngsters" in the office. USE THEM - THEY ARE THE BEST.

I went there once when I was in the Army. This time I thought well they did a pretty good job last time. This is the 1st time I have ever had go back with my new glasses due to fitting issues. I think they gave me the display frames. the left arm was bent down and they the frames were extremely loose on my face. The lenses are loose in the frame. I have never had a pair glasses in 40 years like this. I will never go back there again.

Horrible optometrists, dr.mcloud an Fenn are amazing doctors but I can't say the same about the staff..rude, snarky and above all lazy. Was made to call native affairs by new staff even though they have been doing it for me for 18 years. New staff would not let me put in a order for my glasses she wanted me to be "sure" even though she was just rushing me out of the building because she wanted to go home early. It's been three weeks sense this happened still no glasses. Now at this moment I am looking and have found a new optometristsin in under an hour so I'm sure you can to! Bad rude ignorant service & out-of-date technology. Dr. Psutka looked me in the eyes and ignored me when his office made a big mistake, no one even apologized or offered help. I was a client of Dr. Psutka for over 20 years. Recently they made a big mistake, didn't even apologize - and left me to fix their issues - which resulted in me changing Optometrists. I tried buying new contacts but they would not let me!? They said I HAVE to get a new eye exam done to update my contact prescription but would have to wait 1 1/2 months and go without contacts until than. I could not understand how this could be? They are the ones who take care of this and provide me with the information, why did everything change all of a sudden? Why were they forcing me into a corner and leaving me without contacts for 1 1/2 months? Telling me there is no other appointment for 1 1/2 months so I will have to wait that long at least to get my contacts? Dr. Psutka, kaput-with-ya! I go where people care, are intelligent, understand, help and treat me with respect. PS. I FOUND A NEW OPTOMETRIST WITHIN 1 HOUR! :)

Although there are many great reviews - I haven’t had the greatest experience. I find he shrugs off my issues that I present with my child. He delays testing and referrals, in my case a issue that could have been taken more seriously 2/3 years ago could have made a world of difference to my child and because it wasn’t, now there are further issues presenting. He won’t help with those, but rather pushes to do something that in the long run could further set my child back. He often doesn’t sounds like he’s interested in what I to have to say and seems to have his opinion on the issue made up quickly without hearing all the facts.

When we return to his office, he was really unhappy and told us that he will close my daughter’s file because so many doctors involved. Great Pediatrics Clinic! - They really take your baby and all parents of the infant who is now become a patient straight to the care and heart. They do there very best to quell this as much as possible! ... Making the baby and yourself feel like they are now in the right place And very soon will be cared for by the right hands, who will be their for all your visitation needs, like all those questions you have written down will now be getting answered, follow-up care or a referral may be made, and possibly an Rd will be supplanted. Hopefully by the time you leave your child will now be in the hands of a more well informed parent(s), and in the next 24 hours your little guy or girl will be back to their ways, playing with their playmates, siblings, and the families pets. And hopefully all will be looking happy and bright on that not to distant horizon. All will be happy and healthy, because you caught that one sign that a babies father or mother can tell from a mile away if their child is sick, hurt, and theirfore needs to really be seen, fast! I had been coming to this clinic for several years. The last time I attempted to make an appointment the secretary claimed to have no record of me ever visiting their clinic, essentially meaning they lost my patient records. She said they would 'look into it' and proceeded to book my appointment and confirmed time and date. I showed up 10 minutes early for the appointment and was told that nobody had booked an appointment, despite my having phone records of the booking call and confirmation in my calendar. This place is completely disorganized and should be avoided. Find a clinic where they dont lose your patient records and are actually capable of keeping a booked appointment.

I've been to this office 3 times. The latest one Jan/18 will undoubtedly be my last. The wait time was absolutely unacceptable....11:30 appointment and the last time I checked my watch before Dar Lenarcik made an appearance was 1pm. The experience with him didn't improve to say the least. He didn't seem well and insisted on shaking my hand twice which totally grossed me out considering how many bugs are hitting people this winter. He left during my exam to deal with a walk in who wasn't happy with his contacts. Came back irritable which didn't improve the annoyance I was feeling already. When he wanted me to consent to more tests I'd had enough. I had other things to do and hadn't planned on spending most of my 1 out of 2 days off a week waiting in his office. I won't even be using the $99 prescription I got as I have no faith in the examination I received from him. In short, I will never return to this optometrist and would not recommend him to anyone whatsoever. From reading online reviews, I know others have had similar experiences. I have to admit that I have no issue with the 2 times that I was examined by the optometrist that apparently is his spouse. I find it amazing that in this day and age a business owner can act the way he did and still stay in business.

As someone with an eye condition it was very important to find a clinic that would provide me with proper exams and be able and willing to answer questions. Fantastic value on glasses and one of the best things is the service of their glasses is incredible. I buy my glasses here (sun glasses too) just took a 1 year old pair back as nose pad fell out and frames were bent. I was in and out in less that 10 minutes and no charge repairs and my glasses are good as new. Probably smart to buy glasses where optometrists actually work so you can have your questions answered by a licensed optometrist.

There are so many good things I can say about my experience here. It was one of the best customer service experiences ever. I got an appointment in less than 24 hrs. There was a thorough and comprehensive inspection of my eyes. Dr. Pepe was knowledgeable, competent and professional. She was not however pretentious or condescending. It is evident that she loves her work and has found her calling. She allowed me to run to work mid appointment and return at my convenience while I waited for my eyes to fully dilate. When I returned she was detailed in explaining some potential issues to be monitored but was not hasty to recommend potentially unnecessary treatment. Her staff were great and it seemed like they all genuinely loved providing service. While they showed me a lot of different styles of glasses, I did not feel pressured to purchase from them and ignored when I did not immediately commit. The environment and ambiance is great. The building is very nicely designed and has amazing decor. I can go on and on about how pleasant my experience there was but I think you get the point.

Appointment was at 5:00pm and the optometrist did not attend me until 6:30pm. A whole family of 5 that came half an hour after me were attended right away while I’m left waiting. I had another appointment at 6:45 and obviously I missed it. Been to a couple other optometrists and this will definitely be one I will not be returning to.

It looks like they care only for making a sale and don't care if you see properly with your new glasses, I went there more then 3 times and every time they try to convince me the the glasses they sold me are the best for me but when I compare them with my old glasses I can see better with the old ones. Will never go back to this place, if do not want to come back and forward all the time to until you get the proper lasses, stay out of this place.

Best experience I've ever had was having problems with my screen at work they were the only ones in town I could find that would order them in a day and when I picked glasses that didn't fit the lenses they had another pair I could use until mine come in A+ service the manager there was very patient even though it was busy taking care of everyone as best as she could in the rush

Don't feel comfortable with the lenses at all. double vision when I look to the front. Brought them back for correction to the problem and had to wait 3 weeks to have my glasses again. The double vision when looking to the front is not as bad now as it was before but still there and very uncomfortable, I believe maybe, the lenses have a little too much vision on the right and little less on the left...or they are not centered perfectly. I would not recomend this place at all after wearing prescription glasses from different opticals for 30 years and never had a problem before.

Update April 2019- went to make purchase of $500 and didn’t go down well at all, I wouldn’t even give 1 star if possible... I went into LensCrafters Masonville mall and when I went in I picked up my glasses sat down and went through everything with the girl she submitted everything, said they had the frames in the back and said to pay upfront. When I went to pay up front it seems nothing was done I had to redo everything so that took another 15 minutes on top of waiting for one girl(cashier) to process other stuff prior to me for everything to be redone but I acted like everything was fine things happen I let it go I was told I could come back in an hour if they did have the frame in the back so I could get a new frame and come back in an hour and it would be ready for me. When I came back in an hour I noticed there was grease sticky tape and also scratches on the frames and lenses looked like they had ink on them. I asked the girl why Are all these marks here and also asked her about the sticky mark on the side and ask where these the frames from on the wall and the girl told me no. The girl then went to clean the glasses because I said even the lenses were disgusting and As she was cleaning them I had my friend check the wall and she said the glasses were no longer there the manager was standing close by and I said if you’re trying to sell me those frames that were on the wall for $500 and I was told I was getting new frames I’m not taking them. The manager then told me yes those were the frames on the wall but the optician technician had told me no these were were not the frames on the wall. The girl who sold me her classes was close by and said oh I didn’t tell you when it’s one hour finishing it’s just the frames off the wall. I then told optician I’m not taking those glasses and paying $500 for them when they’re already scratched up and I’m paying $500 as the optician was giving me weird looks and I even called her out on it and said don’t be looking at me like that when I’m paying $500 for glasses. I expect them to be new not used and worn on multiple peoples faces. I then told them they can order me in a new frame and I will come back in the 10 days or whatever is going to take to get the proper frames that I was supposed to get. All in all who goes into a store has the first process messed up And takes an extra 15 minutes to check out comes back an hour later has an optician tell her that these are not the frames from on the wall then I have to collect the manager and the manager says they are the frames from on the wall and even the girl who sold them to me said they were the frames from on the wall and oh I didn’t tell you that I forgot to tell you that when I checked you out even though she told us she had to check the back for the frames and she did have them in stock so this is a lot of lying to your customer when I’m spending $500 in your store and I’m really completely disgusted by this... glass that have been mangled and tried on and worn down by 100s of people trying them on and you are going to try and give them to me at full price with scratches and all?! Feb 2019 Amazing service from all these girls tonight, especially Rachel who helped me out after I left frustrated from Vogue Optical. These girls weren’t pushy, they found what I was looking for, showed me options online and were just overall truly friendly. Thank you

Awful customer service and rip off prices. I tried to get a pair of glasses from here and asked about discounts and promotions. No one told me that the same Lens Crafters at WhiteOaks mall has a 50% off both frames and lens for the same pair I was about to buy. I don't get how one store could sell you a frame for 440$ and the same store for $220. Only difference is geography. It was by chance that I found out about this sale...both the Masonville store and head office didn't say a thing when I asked about any promotions going on that would make this frame more reasonable!! They are not forthcoming, straightforward and honest. Plus I found the same frame at a totally different store for $100 cheaper!! Due to the dishonesty and overly priced frames I will not be going back to Lens Crafters. I just don't trust them!
