Good value, great food. Our go to place for Indian food in the Waterloo region. Staff and very friendly and will happily recommend dishes for your palate. My only complaint would be the size of the draft beers. I wish they were larger.

I was there last weekend. ordered few stuff. After the food arrived, i asked for some kind of sauce. The waiter mentioned about curry sauce or something and brought it. After we were done, I was shocked to see they charged 10CAD for that. 10CAD!!! During the start of the order when I wanted to change one item with another one, the waiter said me that it is gonna cost me 1.5CAD extra. Which I agreed to. but they didn't bother to tell me that just asking for some gravy sauce is gonna cost me 10CAD extra. Apart from that, I didn't find the food interesting. They were kind of tasteless and way too expensive. I will never be back in this restaurant. 1 star.

Best Indian cuisine in all of Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge. We love it here, always clean and always great food. Our favourite is the samosa chat, it is an appetizer but could also be eaten as a meal as it is a very large serving!!

Grain of Salt was a nice delight on a frigid December night. The food was crafted with care, while Saint Nick finished his toys way up there. With the service came a smile and a kind eye, for flavour you could savour with a sweet Mango Lassie added simply for the pleasure. We enjoyed our stay and hope one day, to return. Best Indian restaurant in Cambridge, hands down. Their lunch special is a great price, you get a large portion of food and the food itself is always amazing. I have tried many dishes here and have yet to be disappointed. One dish that really stands out is their korma, it's so good. I highly recommend checking grain of salt out if you haven't already. The atmosphere is nice, and ant waitstaff I've come across has been very friendly.

We are regular customers. The food is authentic, fresh and tops the best Indian Restaurants near or far. We just had them Cater for a large party, they provided everything including servers and bartender. The owners personally attended to insure that everything was outstanding. Every guest commented on their professionalism and amazing food. I highly recommend them as the premier option for dining in, takeout or catering small or big events.

One of the best restaurant for Indian Cuisine. The ambiance is nice and cozy. Staff is helpful and friendly. We ordered Panner Tikka sizzler and it was so delicious; to-the-point in taste and piping hot as we were thinking of. My wife and I go to this place and have a buffet lunch every now and then. We are vegetarians and there is fair choice, not great. Food is tasty and the place is pretty decent. The buffet is $13 plus tax plus tip; not expensive but compared to other places in Mississauga or Oakville, this place is pricier. I would have given this place a four star rating but because the number of items on the buffet is somewhat limited and as it is slightly pricier, I have given it three stars. Addendum after receiving response from the Owner: In my review I had clearly stated that as a vegetarian person, I found the menu choice to be limited and therefore for this limited menu choice, the price point is high. For the Owner to mock my comment by asking "what did you expect for this price" is regrettable and reflective of the Owner's attitude towards customer.

Giving Bombay 5 Stars - Delivery Person 0 Stars - Food was delicious as always. DELIVERY SERVICE NOT SO GREAT. The delivery person short changed us almost 5 dollars. Did he think this was his tip? I don't remember offering it to him. He gave me 2 - $5 and rushed out the door without a word. When we unpacked the food a lot of the sauce was outside the containers.

This restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and it looks very clean and new. The buffet is small but the quality is excellent and it's loaded with all the usual favourites. A nice surprise was hakka-style chili chicken, which was excellent. They also provided fresh naan, which was also excellent. The weekend buffet is a bit more expensive than weekdays but I think it's still an outstanding value.

By far, the most decent Indian food I have come across. Their service and buffet they seriously lack in, however the a la crate menu is decent and the food is good. Options are limited, so if you go a few times you have to pick your favourites! The biryani is not worth the effort and still needs some flavour. My expectations of Indian food in the region are not very high, but it is much better than most places I have been to.

I really enjoy this place. It's a little off-putting since it's in a strip mall but I've never been disappointed by the food here. On one occasion they were having a particularly busy night with take-out orders so our dine-in got pretty severely delayed. The owner was very apologetic and brought us out complimentary dessert which was a really kind gesture. There's always a fight for the leftovers from Bombay Bhel.

Modern India is one of our go-to curry places. I love the dinner buffet at this little gem of a restaurant. The staff always greets you with a smile and attend to your needs. I completely recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting an authentic taste of Indian cuisine for a very affordable price.

Went there for the first and last time for their lunch buffet. The only contact we had with the server was a smile while he handed us two glasses of water. That was it. No real greeting and didn't check for refills or if we wanted any other drinks while we ate. The food was not only bland but served cold. Only the curry chicken was lukewarm at best. Everything else was as if it was taken right from the refrigerator. The ice cream was old and freezer burnt. The dishes were dirty. Had to pick through a few bowls to find one that wasn't dusty and without dirt. Definitely would not recommend eating here.

Superb in so many ways ... Huge selection of buffet, best in town. In fact you would have to go up 3-4 times to try everything in terms of hot dishes. Plus the quality is so good and tasty.... From mild dishes to spicy, and even a small salad and dessert... Including ice cream. Certainly a simple restaurant but the food is top notch...and you never have to worry about being too busy or overcrowded as they are on a quiet part of King St 5 star for sure.... Not a fancy place, but the food is top notch.

OMG! If you are in the mood for a real Indian experience, you have to go here. This is only my second time eating Indian food and the first time did not impress me at all. I was feeling adventurous, so I asked my sister if she wanted to try Royal Indian Buffet. Well, she really loves this cuisine and she said it was the best she has ever had. Great atmosphere. Pretty cold by the window seats. Service was pleasant, not frequent though. Ordered butter chicken pountine, chicken 65, goat curry with garlic naan and a mango yogourt drink. Butter chicken was good. Chicken 65 was my favourite dish, spicy and satisfying. Goat curry had great taste, but was seriously lacking in meat. Garlic naan was ok. Mango drink was so-so.

I can absolutely recommend the Samosas, but i would suggest changing the fries or taking them off the menu completely. They were just not very good, sorry to say. The value ($13) for two samosas and butter chicken poutine (couldnt eat the fries) has left me hungry and out of budget for my lunch today.

Delicious samosas, amazing pizza...I'm happy I live so close to here. I love that there's no pork on the menu, makes for a healthier pizza. My only complaint is their pickup times are not accurate and Im left waiting 10-15 mins after my pickup time to get my food. Please just pay more attention to how many orders there are and give a more realistic wait time.

This is predominantly a take out spot although they do have a few tables and chairs within but it is not structured for dining in. If you wish to sit and eat you can do so but it is all self-serve. The rating is high because the food is good. For a place to dine knock off about 4 stars. It is authentic Pakistani cuisine and if you enjoy the richly spiced food from this region you will definitely enjoy the Village. There is one fellow on their staff who is truly a gem he is always friendly and wants you to try his food (he may be an owner), the other staff are adequate but they have no where near the warmth and friendliness of this one gentleman.

Had not been for about 18 years, glad we went back. Food was amazing and the service, although a little slow, was excellent. Had a chat with the owner who we met all those years ago and was treated like family! Excellent food, fantastic environment. A great place to eat. And be sure to take home your left-overs!

I've been ordering food from Vijay's through DoorDash. Food is excellent. They offer 3 levels of spiciness: hot, medium, mild. I like mine mild, very flavorful without the pepper. Delivery always smooth. Keep up the good work. And thanks very much.

Great Indian restaurant. I specifically love the lunch buffets! amazing food variety for a good price. Suppers are a bit more expensive. The Naan is exquisite. Service could improve a bit but all in all I love it!

We live on the other side of town, almost 30min away, so our first trip out to the relatively new-to-Guelph eatery was only just a few months ago. We were able to find a variety of gluten free and vegan options. Our server worked very hard to ensure our meal adhered to our dietary restrictions and our meal was aromatic, and flavoured and tempered to our request for a mild 'heat setting'. Overall, it was quite nice and the food came out of the kitchen in good time. We went early in the afternoon, like 2:00 or 3:00, and there was ample parking and ample seating.

Absolutely fantastic food. Great selection and buffet is around $21 after taxes but so worth it. It gets smokey around lunch time because of naan bread being cooked be prepared for that. Watch their hours of operation as they are a bit limited but make the trip out and have some fantastic food! I have been several times and never disappointed.

Amazing Buffet . Fresh tandoori naan from the oven ( not reheated or sourced bulk) and nice grilled meats. There are not extensive 20-30 items but the ones there are are worth a lot, made with care and passion. You will not go wrong with a buffet here.

Always thought of trying here, and glad I did. Girlfriend and I went for dinner. She got mushroom Tikka Masala and I got the chicken Vindaloo. Good sized portions for the money you pay and the flavour was amazing. Our server was really friendly and prompt as well. Only small thing i could say was unfortunate was that if you want rice you have to pay for it on top of the entree. Will definitely go back though.

Very comfortable seating. Service was prompt. Very clean dining area. Ordered mild butter chicken, and medium spiced lamb and beef curry. My son enjoyed the butter chicken, but it was still a bit spicy for him. Lamb curry was extremely tender and delicious. Beef curry was good, but my wife said it was a bit too fatty for her liking. Everyone enjoyed the garlic naan. Will return to try different items on the menu.

I am a regular here. The a-la-carte food is really interesting and most important little different than your standard Indian fare. Love the food and the portions. I would give it a 5 star if the service was proper; the dishes should be cleared AS they are finished not after you have paid the bill and left the restaurant.

Very friendly people running Masala and delicious food. (especially the veggie dishes) I would give 5 stars, however the butter chicken was not as tender and succulent as I am used to from other local Indian food restaurants. It seemed like the chicken was at one time frozen, but I could be completely wrong about that. I will certainly come back and bump my review to 5 stars if this was a 1 time problem.

Food was plain. I was told by a former employee they grab the leftover rice from customers and toss it back into a pot. That's disgusting, I'm never eating here again! UPDATE: Apparently the rice isnt the only thing they recycle. They use the left over CURRY SAUCE as well, mixing it into other dishes...WOW I've never been so appalled in my life. This is not me "making up stories" I've legit spoken to 2 former employees and they both told me this.

Really like the new location, very nice decor and definitely an upgrade from the old spot. Friday buffet was very good, lots of tasty dishes and decent salad bar (perhaps get some salad dressings). Better location than old one. Will be back for lunch buffet!!!

Very good quality food at this classic Indian restaurant. Lots of variety in the menu - for food and drinks. And it's a very nice looking restaurant and is kept very clean. Good choice for a nice dinner. They also have a lunch buffet from 12-2pm which I would consider going to.

Excellent food and excellent service. This place never fails to amaze me. We ordered the butter paneer and through a mix up in the kitchen, we got butter chicken. The server was immediately apologetic and within a minute we had the right dish. It was so delicious! Creamy and flavourful. They even gave us free dessert. Wonderful staff and incredible food.

Would have given a 4 star if not for the less quantity of the food offered in lunch buffet. Few of the trays were almost empty and were not filled up adequately even after notifying the person in charge. Going for the pros the food was tasty and there were a few different varieties. Overall a good reasonable buffet if you are lucky enough to have the opportunity of tasting all the items before the trays are empty again!

I usually go for the lunch buffet, and the food is always varied, interesting and delicious!! And such a reasonable price too. I've tried many other Indian restaurants in the time since but this one remains my favourite.

Had the worst experience of hospitality that I have ever seen. They didn’t have the buffet on Saturday as they stated online . Ordered from the Menu and had to leave after 45 min of long wait , as food was not even ready or started neither there was any communication indicating when food will be ready ! Extremely bad service and no one even explained why it was taking too long until we decided to ask ! What a waste of time and drive to go there !

Had grilled chicken and tandoori chicken plate. We loved it the first time and already visited twice in a week. The restaurant was clean. The person at the register was very polite and served with a smile. I have tried baklava in many places but this was hands down, one of the most yum baklavas I've had. Thank you!

My husband and I ordered dinner last night and it was so delicious we ordered from here again this evening and it did not disappoint. We have had the butter chicken twice. It was silky and smooth but also full of all the right flavours. The tandoori chicken kabobs are smokey and charred perfectly again with a rich flavour profile. We also had the beef masala which was tender with a bit of heat. Highly recommended and will be back again and again and again. :)

Wow, our first time here... It's Afghan meets East Indian.... We have eaten everywhere and on every continent (except Australia)... Order the mantoo as an appetizer, an incredibly subtle dish belonging in a fine dining 5 star restaurant ...try the vegetarian fried eggplant dish totally an original dish from the border region between the 2 countries or any of kabobs which were juicy and flavourful.... The goat karachi spices were unique and so delicious. The restaurant itself is simple but the food is world class.
