We live in an 1860s limestone house and want to maintain its heritage character. A consequence is that all of our twenty-five windows have an inside sash and an outside storm window. When we first moved in four decades ago, we would each summer take off the storms and replace them with screen windows. Then, a decade or so ago, we installed an air conditioning system and no longer needed to take off the storms. Or, so we thought. It turns out our house breathes. That is, as the temperature drops, the cool air seeps into the lower rooms, is warmed up, rises and exits through the upper windows. When the warmed air touches the cool upper window panes, it condenses, soaks the wooden panes, freezes and harms the wood and glazing. Furthermore, the glass needs to be cleaned. My response has been to install a pair of sash hangers at the top of the storm window and a pair of sash adjusters along the sides. In this way, I can push the storms out when the summer weather returns and dry them out. The hangers and adjusters also make it easy to remove the storms for cleaning. The problem that led me to Kingston Windows and Doors was to track down additional sash hangers and adjusters. I had been to the Home Depot and Lowes with no luck and thought this specialty store could help. What I observed and learned was that contemporary windows come as a system and separate storm windows and sash hangers and adjusters are no longer available. The staff at Kingston Windows and Doors did their best to help me and suggested wreakers and salvage firms. I appreciated their suggestions.

Where to begin. .. we ordered shutters for our home, on the day of the install something had to be moved, when the guy moved it the item fell and broke ( this was an item that belonged to my mother that passed) i have in turn glued it together but the crystal figurine will never be the same. and then when they did the other set of shutters the installers tell us they were ordered/made wrong and will not fit. we ask for an ETA ( at this point having already waited 6+ weeks) and they tells it will be rushed and not that long. in the 'RUSHED"world of real time of 4 weeks later we had never heard from any one. when we did follow up the next day we were scheduled in for the install. i feel as a customer it was bad service. if I supplied the measurements nothing to complain about, If i had dome my own install.. where do i point?. I got a good price YES, better than 1 other store i shopped but i payed for it with everything else!.. UPDATE Dec. They have worked with us to figure out our issues. Update Jan .. still waiting the process has been going on since Sept 8th. Update Feb .. still waiting.. each time the team shows up there is something wrong, then there is a wait and everyone says it is someone elses fault. first i was offered a discount for the shutters i did not want but they wanted to wash their hands of it. then when the same shutter was ordered wrong again, i was offered a free shutter to leave the wrong one there. this was far from been a simple and easy process. and conversations get lost.. i am told there is no communication error .. so i suppose my window keeps changing in size?

Expect at least a ten-week turnaround and make sure you read the quote for accuracy before signing. If your ink is on the paper, their mistakes become your mistakes.

The people at Oomen's Glass were extremely friendly and their installers were courteous, trustworthy, polite and highly skilled. Excellent service. Unlike Fort Glass. Don't go to Fort Glass or you will regret it. I made the mistake of calling Fort Glass originally to have some glass installed, and I had to hire Oomen's Glass to remove, replace and reinstall some poorly installed glass that Fort Glass installed. Fort Glass has got a guy named Doug working for them and he shouldn't be trusted or let into your home, or even on the property for that matter. I'm positive he stole $50 from the top of my microwave. I have no kids, and I know my wife (who is a nurse) didn't steal it. Oomen's Glass did great work in my home and I couldn't be happier with the results. Oomen's Glass Ltd gets a trustworthy 5 stars!

I've had over $10,000.00 in windows completely changed out over the the last 9 years. Two windows were installed to small and are drafty. The 3rd window the seal keeps blowing and their service man noticed that the window was assembled upside down and installed this way. Now I am having warranty difficulty to get the window reinstalled upside right. This company doesn't seem to want to honour the lifetime warranty it sold to me. Still waiting for replacement of the window.

First off, let me say that the end result looks great, and the price was fair. So to start, I called to get an estimate and provided dimensions. I was given two prices, one including installation and one without. There was an approximate $120 difference in these two prices, so I chose to forgo installation. I was told someone would contact me in a few days to arrange to come view the space and get more precise measurements. When someone came out to do the measurements (he was very polite and timely, by the way), he told me that they only come do precise measurements when they are doing installation. This makes sense, but was not communicated on the phone. He then gave us a third price, which fell somewhere in between the other two. We then had to go with installation, which was fine. A few weeks later, the installers came and did not seem to be prepared. They did not bring any supports for the mirror which they said they required, even though they should have known exactly what type of mirror was being installed and where since someone had come out to measure for it. They asked if we had any, and I didn't know what they were looking for and our basement was under renovations so I told them to use what they needed. There were tonnes of lengths of plywood and mdf lying around, in various sizes, that were obvious cut-offs from the cabinets that were built, but they chose to use two of the four cut/sanded solid wood pieces that were going to be used for the frame of a glass door for one of the cabinets. This was nailed into our newly-finished and painted wall. The icing on the cake was when I went upstairs to make a phone call and came back down, I saw one of the installers using our toilet... we had yet to install the door to the bathroom. In fact, the toilet had been hooked up just days before so I guess we're lucky he hadn't shown up a few days earlier!

Centennial Windows and Doors was very accommodating with the scheduling of the installation. We had to reschedule numerous times and they never got upset. The installers were very polite and professional. They were there for 10 hours and worked hard the whole time. They reached out to us when parts of the installation didn't seem to make sense. The finished product is way more than we ever expected. the trim and finishing touches exceeded all expectations. However be sure when talking to your sales person, you go over every detail of the door, including trim and grills in the windows. We ordered a black door and what we thought to be a black trim, yet the trim was selected as white with white grills. This looked ridiculous and Centennial to their credit have done everything in their power to clear up and make this right. I recommend them 100%

Am compelled to write a review for the first time and extend a big thanks to the Centennial folks we dealt with. The upper level of our old 1834 limestone farmhouse has fresh air again now that the ancient, permanently closed windows have been replaced! George Buxton was our wonderfully friendly, genuine, and knowledgeable sales rep. He ensured we were completely comfortable with the product and process and followed up with us after our initial meeting as often as necessary. We juggled install dates with Jason a couple of times over the phone, and he was supremely patient, kind, and humbly apologetic as he tackled the daunting task of coordinating installations and teams. I can't imagine that's an easy task. Greg and Cody showed up promptly on the morning of the install and did a fantastic job replacing the windows. They were efficient, unobtrusive, friendly, considerate, professional, and Greg even handled two wasp nests by the windows without complaint. I understand the company is undergoing some growing pains and there are some challenges and gaps with supply and demand but fundamentally this is a quality company that provides a superior product. Thank you to all!

I spoke with a woman on the phone and asked for a quote, she told me it would be easier if they could assess the damage in person. Never experienced such a rude and nasty women on the phone in my life. Tried to charge more money for a window that was smaller than one we had just replaced. Then once I questioned the price she got made and hung up the phone. The installers were very nice and great guys but it seems that management has issues.

Worst experience I have ever had with a company. After all the mistakes that were made by the company and after waiting close to 5 months I only ended up getting 1/2 of the windows installed. The only good thing about the company were the Installers themselves.

I ordered material for my steel roof from REP. Mat is very helpful and whenever I've needed to pop in for little things I always get great service. Products they don't stock get shipped in really quickly too. I'll be back for siding and new windows in the future.
