I would give this restaurant 2 stars, but the food was pretty good so that saved it. When we entered the restaurant we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated, bear in mind this was when the restaurant was almost empty, only two groups of people were seated at this point. After we ordered, we waited about an hour for our food to arrive. Annoyingly, five groups of people who came in and ordered after us all got their food before us, so I had to remind the waitress that we were still waiting. I think this restaurant was understtaffed somewhat, however the food was pretty good, but not worth waiting for over an hour.

Staff were friendly and courteous. The food was amazing and came quick. Highly recommend visiting this Thai place. They can also make your food spicier if you would like heat. My drunkard pork was level 3 and I could have gone to 5. But the food was still great!

It is true the food was amazing. But our waitress couldn't smile and was basically somewhat unpleasant. What really ticked us off was that the tip was included. The tip of 15% is really to reward for good service and we got non. To bad would have liked the place and even gone back if it wasn't for the service and forced tip for bad service.

Tasty food. Most of the time, I just get takeout. My problem with the place (hence only 3 stars) is portion of rice that they give you: it's laughably small. They might as well use a container one third the size. To have enough rice to deal with the sauce in their dishes, you need to order 1–2 extra servings of rice, each one the same meagre size as what's included. Sure, it's only rice, and one could just make some at home...but that goes against the point of getting takeout. It's quite a slap in the face being so skimpy on something so easy/inexpensive.

Food was ok, the thick curry I had was pretty blend. Definitely, not the best curry I had. Worst part was the service, our waitress looked like we all owed her money, never broke a smile while we were there. Never came over to check on us on how we were doing. And at the end she was expecting big fat tip. Definitely not coming here ever again.

Went for lunch. The place was not busy but seemed to do a lot of take away. Had pad Thai and sweet & sour chicken. The pad Thai, while fresh and hot, seemed a bit bland. On the other hand, the sweet & sour chick was fabulous. Sweet and zingy with big chunks of pineapple. There were lots of other interesting looking menu items so I will definitely be back to try them.

This is the second time in a row I've come here and been disappointed. Today I ordered #35 because red curry chicken is my go-to. If you want a dish FULL of bamboo shoots then this is the dish for you. There were probably 5 measly pieces of chicken and basically the rest was rice, carrots and bamboo shoots. The flavour was not good either. Extremely disappointed.

The food is usually sizzling hot, so I can confidently say it is freshly prepared every time. All the staff are really polite and caring. I order extra spicy and the servers usually warn me when I order my food. I have tried most of their dishes and like every single one of them. During peak hours I have waited upwards of 30 minutes to receive my order but the food has always been worth the wait. Highly recommend this place.

The Best Thai Soup anywhere period. Great family run business very friendly, good atmosphere. I always order Tom Yum (soup A) and Green Curry (soup E) . Soup E is the spicy one, I keep a box of tissues while I eat because it makes my nose run.

What to say except can someone please bottle the smell of this place and make it a perfume!? As soon as you step in the amazing aroma hits you and makes you hungry. The soups looked amazing and huge. I ordered something totally out of my wheelhouse and didn't care for it to much but that was just a poor choice I made. There was so much other great food I could have picked that was more to my taste. Also for the tofu dishes, their tofu is super soft and melts in your mouth if that is not to your taste you can ask for it fried. Portions are huge, price is right, and the other people in my group LOVED their meals. The dining room is a little outdated but when you see the food getting pumped out of this kitchen you won't be looking at the decor.

First time trying Cambodian food, it was recommended by a buddy who lives in Kingston. I had the golden chicken, it's spicy but excellent if you like spice! The Cambodian spice rolls are also excellent... Two of those is great for three people... We ordered 3 each and it was too much!

I have worked at Mango for the past two+ years and today is my last day so here are some of my favourites: CH5 basil chicken is delicious as is B1 beef with oyster sauce and N4 the Malaysian curry noodles. The staff are exceptional and the owners have worked hard to update and modernise a classic Kingston fixture downtown. 10/10 would eat here again but will miss the staff discount. Also: cash pickup over 40 bucks is 10 percent off so that's nice.

This was my favorite restaurant in Kingston before I moved to Toronto 10 years ago, and their #1 dish was spectacular! Unfortunately, over the years they have changed this dish completely. It was decent but the flavors weren't there anymore. And the amount of chicken you get is less than 50% of what it use to be. Overall this place is decent but not the great place it use to be.

Have been going to this restaurant for 8 years. Small family restaurant with great Cambodian food! We love their golden chicken and cannot find this amazing taste anywhere else in Ontario. Not even in Toronto or Ottawa. Tips: do not add veggie to any saucy plate. We did that last time and they steam/boil the veggie, so when they add it to the sauce it completely waters it down and dilutes it. We go to this restaurant for the delicious food really and not for service or ambience. if you are looking for something fancy, this is not the place.

My favourite place for Green Curry. I started frequenting in Dec 2018, and this place has gained acceptance among everyone I've brought/referred. Don't ask me to go because it's a yes. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, and the prices are fair.

A decent eat for the area. I gave this an extra star taking into consideration the location. The food used tamarind for it’s pad Thai, which is great but the overwhelming taste and majority of the flavour came from the chilli paste sauce rather than the tamarind. The noodles were well done and the meat added was a fair portion. For some reason, there was black bean added to the dish. Portion size was good and pricing was on the lower side of average. Overall not bad.

Their red curry was so sweet just a weird taste made it difficult to eat.. they have me 3 strips of chicken their spring rolls taste like they are from Costco.. just totally inauthentic. If you are looking for great flavorful thai/Cambodian cuisine go to Pat's restaurant down the street. Food is so amazing portions are fantastic for the price. Great hole in the wall :)

We went to this location for the first time and were very impressed! The inside was so clean and modern, I really enjoyed the decor! She yelled at us to get out and we saw that she was smoking in the back. This is incredibly rude, unprofessional and we WILL NOT be returning. I can't believe that this is the standard for their staff!

Our takeout: the special was all rice, very very little vegetable or meat. Smelled like cat pee in a barn. Other dish was all rice as well...bland and the tofu was flavourless like it was simply sliced right out of the package and warmed up. Neither of us ate it which is a first....we eat everything. The flavours were great as was the service, but the place is pretty filthy which is a bit of a turn off. There was old urine all over the base of the toilet and piles of dirt on the floor around the furniture in the bathroom. The menus we're dirty and the walls, baseboards and floors look as though they haven't been cleaned in a long time so it was grimey. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like if they don't clean their washroom properly. I was happy to see the debit machine was spotless though, which is usually overlooked. It's just a shame to see so little pride taken in a place that actually has a kitchen preparing tasty food.

Can't even express how great this place is. Everything is so delicious! The red curry is to die for. Super friendly service too!

Very disappointing experience. Dish arrived and did not look the same as the last time we had it there. I didn't eat more than two bites, food was not cooked well, like a gelatinous blob. My girlfriend ate some of hers, but did not enjoy it. We left the food on the table and went to pay. Asked for a discount because I did not eat my food. Was told that's the way they do it and they wouldn't give any discount. Very bad customer relations and overall poor atmosphere. Spring rolls were good, but it's pretty hard to mess up spring rolls. Obviously, would not go back. I don't normally like to write bad reviews but because I had to pay for their bad food I don't mind posting this one.

Pad Thai was very good! This is a simple restaurant with eat-in and take out. Nothing fancy but extremely solid value!!!

Still my favorite, vermicelli noodle bowl with shrimp is one of the most popular dishes in Vancouver, and this place does it very well.

Accessible restaurant with space between tables to accommodate mobility devices. Large menu with all of the expected dishes and a few surprises. Very good prices. Very nice selection of combo plates. Very friendly and fast service. Excellent food. Ginger chicken soup is fabulous and likely to soothe colds and sore throats all winter long. Great fried rice. Spicy dishes (curry, General Tso chicken) are not over-heated, but pack a punch. Singapore noodles come with a vegetarian option. Spicy spring rolls and dipping sauce are excellent. There is a delightful, kitschy mural on which to feast your eyes while devouring your food. We saw a number of take out orders processed very quickly while we ate, and are planning to make a regular detour to pick up dinner here on the way to the ferry dock.

Great food and reasonable prices! They do take a REALLY long time to prepare and deliver it though (always more than an hour). Sometimes we don't want to wait that long so we order from other Chinese places, and then we always regret it because none of the other Chinese restaurants in Kingston are as good as East Side Village. So, it's very much worth the wait!

Stopped here yesterday for lunch with a friend & overall food was poor at best. The egg rolls had so much grease in it when you held it up it poured out of the end. The rice consistency was as if it was days old (tough/chewy). The chicken ball batter was underdone and the Sweet & Sour sauce was a gelatinous mess. We went there based on the reviews & found out quickly the reviews do not reflect the quality of the food very well. The items we had were basic and if they cannot cook the basics this tells a customer a lot. Will never return again and do not recommend this restaurant at all.

Never again, the food was not fresh at all. I bit into something grainy and extremely salty in the Fried Rice. I ordered an egg roll and the oil was pouring out of it, changed it for a spring roll, which looked like it had been re-fried from a few days ago and again just drenched in oil. I can't understand the good reviews. The overall look of the place wasn't that great either.

Great place for Chinese food. Not sure if they offer really authentic Chinese dishes but the food is always awesome. My family and I have been enjoying Mae's food for over 10 years. She previously owned the Asian Star (I think it was called) on Princess St. We were so excited when we heard she was back in business at East Side Village. Somehow she remembers mine and all my family's names everytime we visit, which isn't often enough to warrant that. Amazing people and food! I'll never forget the garlicky eggplant with ground pork (maybe with black bean sauce,) and the spicy salty squid. Yum.
