A classic old park. Nice and traditional little play structure that kids like. But the best play structure in the area is WB Bowes down Halton terrace off of Klondike. Go there because your kids will love it and meet new friends there. Every night it I jammed pack with kids - like most parks. The Klondike Park is also nice, but not as new or big as other ones in the neighbourhood!

Great park for children. It is located inside a treed area away from the road and gets some shade during the day. It is usually much quieter than other nearby parks and offers a play structure with multiple slides varying in size, a rock wall climber and a very popular sliding bar between the two sides of the structure. The structure is surrounded by ample white sand and a paved path surrounds the structure area.

I used to plan soccer at this field, this used to be our home game field and it is a great field to play at because the grass is always cut and the white painted lines are visible all the time.

A nice park with some good paths and places for picnics. Close to a Dairy Queen if you're looking for a treat to bring on your walk. Loses a star for proximity to major roads,, traffic is pretty prolific from anywhere you sit or walk.

The public pool is great, however the rates are not so great. Also, they need picnic tables and shade. Take note; it was disappointing to find out that they do not have interact here, cash only for entrance to pool (it is 2018, really City of Ottawa!)

Excellent outdoor pool. Staff are always friendly, and they conduct swimming lessons in the summer months (July to August). It is a short season, but a perfect setting with two huge trees for some shade, picnic tables in the enclosed pool area. Full changing rooms, showers, vending machines and a water fountain. There is a nice park right beside the pool (closed during winter months), in case you would prefer a 'drier' day outside. Multiple slides, a bridge, sliding pole, chained ladders to climb, and a cool tube you can practice your echo calls in😊. The park is located directly beside the Hazeldean public library, which is great to stop by, grab some books, and then spend the afternoon playing at the park. In winter, just behind the library, is a nice hill that is perfect for the smaller kids, or just a quick visit for any size. Wait until a couple of large snowfalls have occurred, and they pile up the snow at the top from the adjacent parking lot. Lots of fun to slide down. The Glen Cairn tennis club is also located beside the pool, with an open walls area you can use. Overall, a very nice park, with many things to do. Jay

Nice park in the Kanata area. There's a few soccer fields, baseball fields and a small playground. It's at the back of a school. Parking across the road is your best bet (although crossing the road can be a little tricky during the morning/evening commutes).

Great park, limited shade but it is there (for the benches, not the plays structure). Small parking lot and soccer field adjacent and a basketball net as well. Paved around the play structure but sand under it. As tody as i would expect a public park to be ( a couple stray papers from people being lazy, but otherwise clean) though the garbage can did need to be emptied.

Beautiful little nook. Mostly a boat launch but there is some room for swimming off to the side. Although note: it's all rock no sand so bring some swim shoes to protect your feet. Has 2 well kept(clean for what they are) public restroom outhouses and two fairly large structures to have a shaded area for lunches.

A great spot in the middle of Kanata that you can throw your boat in the water quickly and get out on the river. Lots of parking and even a nice spot to picnic at with a shaded gazebo if it's really hot. One downside is dogs are not welcome. I bring mine anyway and just pick up his poop, no one's ever said anything. Wheelchair parking available

Shirleys Bay park and boat launch is a natural oasis in the city of Ottawa. There is free parking, public toilets (vaulted), and a new covered picnic area (2017). There are some abandoned streets to explore, and the waterfront is always interesting. In the summer months, the natural rock formations make it safe and warm for wading out into the Ottawa River.

Lots of people come here to picnic, others to take their boats out for a quick cruise. In either case, the bay is accessible and suitable for all activities. I wouldn't recommend the area for fishing though, the noise from the boats will surely scare off any fish.

Magic of Lights was fantastic. At $25 a car with proceeds going to charity, was a great way to contribute back to the community. The light show was creative especially with the limitation of them medium. There were scenes of nativity, twelve days of christmas, arctic animals, and much more. Would highly recommend those who have no yet gone to go! There is however a long wait (approx.45min) to get in as the drive is single file.

It’s a nice ride for watching beautiful Christmas lights. Lots of interesting themes. Good for children. Since the price is per car makes much more sense to go with a group of friends. Make sure to turn of the lights and turn on the video for enjoying the full effects.

This was the first time I had ever gone to see the magic of lights at Wesley Clover Park. My expectations were fairly low, really not knowing what we were going to see. To my surprise, this was a great light show. we got there a half an hour early, grandparents and almost three-year-old in the car. Not ideal, as we were now having to sit and wait for it to open. Within 5 minutes, one of the staff came to the gate and walked over to let us know that it wouldn't be long and that someone would let us in a little earlier. They didn't need to do that, of course, but we were pleased. I don't know about the rest of the services offered here, as we only experienced this one event. Having said that, we may explore other things during other seasons now that we've had this positive experience. Have fun.

Visited for the lights display, arrived around 545pm and we drove right up to the booth, we had bought out ticket a few months ago at a reduced rate so the cost was quite reasonable. When driving up I didn't realize that the route twisted back and forth through the campground and took a good half hour to 45 mins to get through. We will definitely be back again next year.

The light show was fantastic and we still had the option to listen to some Christmas tunes even after the big day! Took us about 20-30 minutes to go all the way through, $30 seemed like a decent price since there were so many lights and so many sections! Its definately a must see next year too!

We went for winter light show and it was amazing how they decorated it and how the lights on and off .They programmed it very well. IT Was not very expensive but one thing the last 2 steps were really tricky while driving there.Otherwise it was a fun activity to do with kids in winter/holiday season.

Went for the Xmas light display. About a 20 min wait at 6 pm on the 23rd. When we left about 40-45 min later the line was probably over an hour. Display was fun. For $20/car for an online ticket it was good value.
