The Best Music schools in Kanata

If you are looking for a place for you and/or your child to improve musical and master whatever instrument this wonderful school is offering, then this is your place. The staff are amazing people who know how to communicate well with students and parents and take this very seriously. This is a school where real musicians will teach things that will definitely help you improve. Amazing school. 10/10

I am the guitar teacher of the Kanata Music Centre. The working environment created by the owner and the rest of the staff members is incredible. They are always looking for ways to make you feel welcome in the classroom. The method incorporated is great and it gives kids an opportunity to make friends and at the same time learn music and make music.

Our girls are fortunate to have such wonderful music teachers teaching them! The Yamaha group program is effective and engaging. Highly recommended!

Our children have been attending KMC for years. Both private and group lessons have been excellent learning opportunities for my children. As a non-piano playing mom, I am amazed at how quickly they have progressed.

I would highly recommend the KMC and the Yamaha Music Education system. As a previous Yamaha student myself, I see the benefits of this music program which teaches students to play an instrument, solfege singing and ear training. Having early parental involvement is also a key to their success. I am privileged to have my children attend this school and see them flourish under the direction of talented and amazing teachers and support staff.

My daughter has been attending the KMC for two years now. The instruction has been fantastic and her interest and confidence playing guitar has greatly improved. Thanks to Johnny and Chris for your great teaching. Highly recommend the KMC.

All of the teachers are very kind, it is a great atmosphere that children can learn in! Highly recommend.

Staff are rude and this store is always out of stock with items, also for some reason they charge an expensive registration fee for music lessons (not cash paid towards the lesson itself, just the cost of signing up for one), no other business in Ottawa does that!

My son takes guitar lessons here. His instructor is kind, knowledgeable, and flexible. My son loves his guitar lessons.

I rented a drum set for $40 ( thought it was a great price ) and had to go back to the store twice to pick up necessary parts that they forgot to give me (and exchange random parts they gave me that were useless). All of that work just to find that the parts they had given me didn't fit. All in all the items they forgot to give me or that didn't work properly included: - Legs for the stool - Bass drum legs - Floor tom legs - Kick pedal No included tuning key, and all of the parts came in an open box with a lot of random washers, nuts, and bolts in the bottom of it. Cymbals also came loose without a bag and all of the gear was quite worn except for the hi-hats. If you're anything but a novice musician avoid this business at all costs.

I have been coming to this location since it opened for all my guitar needs. The staff is friendly and very helpful and the quality and price of their products is unbeatable. Their technical staff that does guitar repair and set ups is fantastic. Best set ups in town and they are always willing to take time to discuss what you want to get out of your instrument playing experience. I cannot say enough good things about this store and its staff.

So nice to walk through a music store so comfortably. The place is very open with excellent selection. I find most music stores have staff keeping very close watch on everyone. Here felt different. No one was breathing down my neck for sales and it felt nice just to stroll through and check out the great instruments casually. I'll be back. Might be my favorite music shop in Ottawa and area.

Great experience with the rental staff! Made sure our band had everything we needed and made a Bose PA system and mixer happen, great prices and Justin was extremely helpful. Recommended!

We have rented our kids' school instruments here for years now. The service is great and staff are usually flexible with the rental terms. I always walk away with a good feeling.

Near by my house and the great selection and friendly staff always makes for a positive shopping experience! Best place to buy high end guitars and recording equipment! I recommend them to anyone! One of only 2 solid music stores in Ottawa!

One of the better music shops in Ottawa. Acoustic room is a little small but all the guitars are there. Amp section is amazing and easy to start playing, everything is plugged in so you just need to flip the switch. Guitar section is standard L&M, lacking smaller and more boutique brands, but still a good mix of guitars from every price point. Used pedal section kinda sucked. Service is always good and location is super close to major bus routes.

Saw on the L&M website that the Kanata store had a Gibson es-335 Studio available so I went to check it out. Mostly shopped at the Ottawa store previously. Have to say I was not impressed at all. Guitar set-up was terrible, guitar had paint chipped in many places, dust all over it, strings were rusted, etc. The person who was assisting me didn't seem to know much of anything about guitars. Waited half an hour for the manager to discuss purchasing it further and in that time messed around with many other guitars, noticing they were also covered in dust with rusted strings and terrible set-up as well as tunings. Manager finally came and would not offer a discount on the guitar although it seemed quite worn already for a new guitar. Saw that the Orleans location had one and said I would head over there and check it out...no love lost from the manager and went on my merry way. Orleans model was amazing, perfect set-up, no dust, new strings and no chips in the paint...no problem paying full price for a guitar that is actually NEW and in great condition. Won't shop at the Kanata store again...seriously folks, keep your guitars in good condition, I only tried $2K+ guitars so those especially should be well kept. And please hire staff (and pay them appropriately) that have knowledge of the product you're selling...i.e MUSICIANS!

Just bought my Ibanez Genesis RG from the folks at the Kanata store. Great service. Fair trade prices on a couple of guitars, can’t say enough about the service. Thanks guys, absolutely love the RG!

Jessie is an amazing guitarist and he's a very good teacher. I've had a very positive experience here and I highly recommend these guys, perfect lessons for beginners.
