We had the worst experience with this company. Poor organization and ability to manage clients, plus just rude. This company was chosen for us by our caterer for our wedding in October. Our contract agreed our credit card would be charged the day following our wedding. In January we received a call that they had forgotten to process our payment of 6000$. We realize this is a bit our fault, but assumed the charges had come out with the catering cost, and were unprepared to pay that much money 4 months after our wedding. We created a payment plan with one of their workers Vera, which approved 4 equal payments over 4 months. We agreed to this by phone and email, and we signed a new credit card approval. To our dismay they charged us once as agreed and then 3 more times over the course of 2 weeks. When we called to discuss they were rude, unprofessional and said it was our fault for not paying on time (even though they were the ones who never charged us). These guys have horrendous organization, customer service and professionalism. They are not able to run a business in a timely way and despite being part of the wedding industry are so unknowledgeable about events. I would caution against using them over and over.

Drapery that was supposed to be dropped off and set up was just left in a pile on the floor. I called about 5 minutes after they left (since the pile of drapery was in the middle of the floor meaning we couldn't set up the rest of the room) and was told the same crew would be back later to set it up since they were already at another call & that since the drop-off window was still open it 'wasn't technically late yet.' When the crew returned to set up, the drapery was all different lengths & obviously stained/dirty. One of the crew also tried to argue with me that we hadn't asked to have it set up & I had to show him on the drop off instructions *that he handed me* that set-up was, in fact, listed.

Loved coming here. The staff let you look at their stock instead of badgering you. Any questions are greeted with smiles and they're always happy to help you if requested. I'd like to give it 4.5 stars because they sadly do not provide any fabric swatches, so it is difficult to match colours for items that are not in the store. EDIT: I forgot to mention that their website is amazingly informative and comprehensive. Definitely appreciated!

Amazing experience working with George! We had a backyard wedding in somewhat of a unique shaped backyard and George found us the PERFECT tent and was amazingly helpful from day one. An amazing company to work with and worth every penny. Cleveland was our contact and made good on every promise. Set-up in our back/front lawns were done two days in advance which allowed us to decorate ahead of time. Set-up/tear down was done with no damage to the yard. Gervais helped with our graduation and they were amazing from beginning to end! George came in to look at the space, he incorporated our ideas and made some great suggestions to get the best use of the space and to improve the look and overall atmosphere. On the day of graduation 3 employees came in and set up exactly as I was shown on the original design. The employees were polite and efficient. Everything was perfectly set and ready to go in a very short time. Our evening was wonderful thanks to Gervais! Then the following day- at the given time, Gervias employees showed up and dismantled the gym again very quickly! I highly recommend this company for any function- the quality of the rental items was superb and the customer service was first rate! Thanks Getvais for making our evening special!

Last weekend was my fist time renting stuff from them. The experience was very good. Everything was ready at the time they told me, they load everything and then went through the checklist with me. The price I think is good (this is my first rental experience in Canada) and the only thing is that the folding chairs were a bit dirty.

Great service and great prices! Nice selection of cutlery, dinnerware, and linens. We decided to rent all our dinnerware, flatware, and glassware for our small barn wedding from here. Greg was very accommodating to our needs, and did not try to push us to get more items than we needed. This year I planned my dream wedding in my parents Grimsby backyard, and none of it would have been possible without the incredible team at Special Event Rentals, especially Greg. I had some specific visions around table design, and Greg went above and beyond to make it happen. He was able to work his network to get us the special table cloths and bread plates matching the exact colour/design/texture that I wanted. We went back and forth across 20+ emails until he found exactly what I liked, and on the day of the event it looked even better than I had imagined. We booked their outdoor tent with lining, which they set up in the backyard across 4 days. Every person I met on their team was incredibly kind, helpful, and responsive. The tent was absolutely stunning, and held up great when it poured rain around 11pm. Greg also helped with a lot of last minute issues, including getting us a bigger table and extra chairs when 3 more people RSVP'd the week of the wedding. He also was able to get us a slightly bigger dance floor with one day's notice after our setup revealed we'd chosen too small of a size. The quality of the rentals they offer, including the extra range they have access to through their network, made working with Special Events a dream. Their team was very helpful, and did a great job to make our event perfect (including staying on site until 9pm one night setting up the tent). Gary referred us to our caterer, the Innsville, who did a spectacular job. He also referred us to a few other vendors, all of whom were top quality. If you're planning a high quality event and looking to work with a team who gets event planning and cares about doing things right then you should definitely contact Gary and Greg, who will make all your dreams come true.
