I have been searching for a new mechanic and now I've found one!!! I went to a very well known Canadian auto shop and just to look at my issue would have been $110.00. JUST TO LOOK!!! I called Dan's shop right away and he told me to come in right then and I did. My issue cost me $20.00, and that was to look at it and fix it. If you don't know anything about cars and are worried you might be taken advantage of, then this is your place to go. They will not take advantage!! They are absolutely amazing and some of the nicest people. Dan was so fun and made me feel so welcome there as a customer. Such an amazing company and great people!!

One more five star rating for Dan and the guys at Master Mechanic. I knew I had to replace brakes on my F150, but when Dan showed me the old worn parts, I was surprised how bad it really was, surprised I could stop at all. Dan and the guys had me fixed up in a couple of hours and nearly $800 cheaper than the dealer, and yes the parts are all warranted. Dan will be our go to guy from now on.

I’m surprised at the other one star review. Must have been a different shop as there’s cars all over here? Anyways, I’ve never used DOK Automotive before but called them up to quickly discuss my aging Civic. Keith was quite nice and helpful on the phone. Since we weren’t driving the car anyways, he suggested I bring it by and when the shop had a moment they’d take a quick look at it. Nearing the end of day I was provided back a detailed explanation, a what should be done or can possibly wait list and a quote. I can’t comment on if it’s reasonable, but for the amount of work and parts that were replaced, I can’t say it didn’t seem unreasonable anyways. Being without a vehicle kinda sucks, and the team at DOK were right on it and had me quickly back on the road. Reading all these rave reviews was thoroughly impressed so I called yesterday before noontime just to see if you could do a quick code check on my truck and at least give me an idea of what was wrong. Was told you were busy till next Tuesday. I then stoped by Partsource for some spray 9 and found out they do it. They checked for free in less than 5 minutes. I then decided I should drive by and let you know but when I did I didn’t even see one car in the bay in door that was open. Made me wonder how busy you really were for the 3 minutes it would have taken you . I read all of these wonderful reviews but 3 -5 minutes is a lot to ask out of such a busy schedule. It’s really not impressive. Could have been a bad day but whatever the case may be for the sake of 3-5 minutes for a code I won’t be back again.

New customer. Booked an appointment for an intermittent noise coming from engine. A test drive was organized with a mechanic upon arrival in hopes of witnessing the issue. Unfortunately the issue did not replicate (leaving them with nothing to go on), however the mechanic was helpful in answering my questions. I was informed that if the problem came back to call them and bring in vehicle right away. Found it to be a very pleasant experience and will be bringing my vehicle in for future service.

I have been a customer since Greg and Chantal took over from the previous owner over 11 years ago. I have been very happy with their honest and excellent quality of service all these years. Recently they performed a near miracle. I am so grateful how quick they fixed my car in the emergency situation my daughters and I were in. We were all so pleasantly surprised to have the car back in 1.5 days instead of 4 or 5. I was out of town and had contacted local mechanics and they were unable to accommodate on short notice in addition it was an busy time of year and many shops had associates off on holiday. Absolute scam artists, went in for a seized caliper and was advised that both were seized and it melted my break pads and damaged my rotors on both sides. The rotors and break pads had been changed recently and the car was parked and hadn’t been driven with the exception to superior auto. They fixed the “two” seized calipers and I refused the break pads and rotors in which they tried to charge me 890$ we had my car brought to another mechanic that confirmed no issues with our break pads or rotors. DO NOT RECOMMEND !!

The staff here are excellent. Very professional and honest. Sean usually works on my car and he's excellent, always tells me when I need work and when I can hold off. Everything that they have worked on has been running smoothly, I have not had to return to treak anything they have worked on. I left my last mechanic because of this reason; constantly having to come back to fix stuff that they should have fixed in the first visit. After the third time fixing the same thing I was just wasting my time there. The team here are always informative and are not afraid to give me options that would save me money even if it means less work for them. Of course being a young girl coming here by myself I appreciate them not taking advantage of me as other mechanics have in the past. Great job folks!

I went in to have a flow master muffler put on my pickup truck, they let me come out and talk with them how they were going to j stall it. It was an aluminized non stainless muffler and they did a beautiful job welding it to the probably 409 stainless stock pipe. They even painted the welds with high temp paint (welding would have taken off the coating on an alumized muffler and would rust super quick). I had been shon some terrible welding from buddies that went to “preformance shoos” in Barrie. I was so pleased with the work they did, I recommend to anyone.

I knew my brakes were going so I took them in for work. Guys in the shop stared at me like they had never seen a girl with a car before. They said they'd call me with updates throughout the day but I had to call to remind them to take it out for a test drive and to ask when I could pick it up. After it all they said the brakes were fine. Fast forward a few weeks and the brakes aren't any better. Go to a different shop and the rotors are rusted and brakes are shot. What were these guys looking at? I feel cheated out of my money and feel like it was because they didn't trust a woman to know when something was wrong with their car. When I left with my car they chastised me and said I shouldn't come in for my brakes just when it's a little icy in the morning. Who knows if they even looked at the brakes. Don't trust these guys with your car.

I was on my way to Spanish, Ontario from Pennsylvania, USA and as I was coming into Barrie I heard noise in left front wheel area. Thought it sounded like a front drive axle so I was prepared for the worse. Called local Chevy dealer about axle but didn't have it in stock at $1043.00 but could have it next day. Looked online for NAPA n in stock for $388. Found NAPA Autopro online with very good reviews and very reasonable prices. Called at 7:30 am and Jay said bring it right over! Pulled it in shortly after arriving and called me over to see the problem. Asked me if it was worked on lately and I said yes. The wheel was not tightened correctly and 6 of 8 lugs were backed off completely and other 2 were loose. No damage to wheel or lugs. They torqued that wheel and checked the rest. I just drove 450 miles like that! I hate to think what would have happened if I had not taken it to NAPA Autopro! I asked what I owed him and he said nothing. I tried to pay him something but he said no. They could have ripped me off when I was in a pinch but Jay is a very good reasonable guy. Thanks again for your service!

I went back since to get more work done and again very accommodating. He and his technicians very knowledgeable about vehicle repair and extremely easy to talk with. Insurance paid for my car, so I can't really comment on price (it was a lot). As far as the work done and how I was treated . The work looks good ( can't see anything wrong). However, when I picked my vehicle up it looked like someone had something on the hood of my vehicle and then dragged it off. My opinion of course. I bought it to their attention and they took care of it right away. I believe the guys name is Steve. Really good guy. Work was done quickly. I was treated with respect at this shop. Everyone seems nice and willing to help. The My insurance company recommend them and I also recommend them as well.

Went in for a diagnostic and gave a description of a sound I was hearing and that my steering wheel was twitching left to right on its own. The mechanic took it out, came back and I was told it was the sway bar links making the noise. I figured that made sense, so I went ahead with the repair OBVIOUSLY UNDER THE IMPRESSION IT WOULD REMOVE THE SOUND AND STEERING WHEEL ISSUE (Like duh, that’s what I told them my problem was) $300 later, I get in my car and within minutes realize their is zero change in anything, not one noticeable difference in sound. I go back in and explain that the issue is still there, I go out on the road with a guy (a receptionist) and within minutes he sees the real problem. It’s an electric power steering issue with the 09 Ford Escape (Huge oversight by the mechanic). We go back in and they try to gloss over the fact that they just brutally failed at their job. They jumped the gun and misled me to replacing something that I would’ve never elected to replace! BECAUSE IT WASN’T THE PROBLEM. So here I am, Full-Time student... absolutely zero room for even the smallest financial misstep and I was completely ripped off and taken advantage of. Not even given one thing in return to compensate for their epic failure (was literally told “well we can’t go back in time and undo the repair”) lmao... no but you can use your head and come to the conclusion that you need to do something to help rectify your embarrassingly massive mistake. This place clearly picks and chooses who they’re honest with, but to anyone they think they can rip off... look out.

These guys are awesome. If I could give 6 stars out of 5 I would. You can trust them, the most important part of a service. They always try their best to repair vehicles safely and in a way that will not cost you extra. I would not go anywhere else.

They use cheap parts that cause other issues that you didn't have in the first place. I took my car somewhere else and when they put in mid range parts the noises were gone. I had a serpentine belt installed by them February 21st and I paid $159 for it. I brought my car to them in the middle of May complaining of a churning noise when making left turns. They checked the vehicle and said there was nothing wrong with it and no noise which is what they would tell me 9 out of 10 times when I went to them. I brought it to them again a week later (I had an appointment that I waited over a week for) for a different issue and brought it up again but they refused to help me because I needed a drive back to work (I mentioned when booking the appointment) and their driver called in sick. Fed up, I took it to another mechanic who told me immediately it was my serp belt so we replaced it for $76 all in and magically the noise was gone. Unfortunately I didn't realize Marshalls had done it three months earlier for double the price until this week. Spoke to my new mechanic who told me there was no way they replaced the belt back in February because it was completely shredded and it would have taken a minimum of a year and a half of hard driving to get in that condition. When I called James he refused to do anything for me because I didn't bring my car to him and because I couldn't get the old belt to give to him. Just steer clear of this place, half the time they can't figure out whats wrong with your car, they have poor business hours, booking an appointment can take a week or longer and even when you specifically mention you need a drive they will either give you trouble about it when you drop your car off or they'll just flat out refuse.

Just experienced a flat (like pancake flat) tire as I turned onto Bayfield from 400, pulled (gratefully) into Midas for a fix. They weren't able to save my tire but got it diagnosed, and a brand new tire on and ready to go in about 30 minutes. The staff was all friendly and professional and service was so quick! I would definitely recommend them!!

Apparently NO ONE could remember talking to us as well as they still refused to acknowledge that we needed our appointment for the time we booked. They were very accommodating for getting my snow tires on (I left it late so they got me in fast). Only thing I can say is be careful if they say you need other work done... they said I needed a new control arm and ball joint assembly... pretty standard and easy thing they can upsell on. Came to pick it up and they conveniently had a ~$450 quote all written up for me and said they could do it that day. I said ummm no it’s been done within the year and no issues driving it. I’ve subsequently taken it to 2 other mechanics and they said both control arm assemblies are all fine... so be careful if you go in for something small and they try to upsell you. Luckily I knew my stuff, but someone with no knowledge can get hosed by these guys.

Very happy with the service! I had taken my truck into other shops, like Midas, to try to fix the electrical issues several times. They claimed to have fixed the issue, but within days, the electronics would start acting up again. I had paid lots of money for nothing. FINALLY, I found Harris Auto Electric! From start to finish, they were by far the most professional and well spoken for group of individuals I’ve ever dealt with. You often hear companies preaching the importance of customer service. CARSTAR however, truly goes the extra mile to ensure their customers are always taken care of & that their expectations are exceeded. The CARSTAR representative I dealt with was kind, courteous, friendly, and an exceptional professional. He made the entire process so easy, that all I had to do was basically drop off and pick up my vehicle. When it came to parts or the process of the repair itself, he was knowledgeable and always ensured I was aware of what would take place and what to expect. CARSTAR took the time to clean my exterior and gave my interior a quick wipe down while also cleaning the mats. After my car was rear ended, I took it to Autobahn/ Carstar repair facility in Barrie, a facility accredited by my insurance company, TD Insurance. The facility is very clean and modern, and the customer area is comfortable. The staff is friendly, professional and efficient. Staff members Trevor and Sam assisted me. They did the preliminary damage assessment, and the following week booked my car in, called for the rental car company to pick me up there, and communicated directly with TD Insurance throughout the process. Once repairs were completed, they promptly contacted me. They showed me the repairs and ensured I was satisfied with the work. My car looked like new. It was washed and partly detailed also. The paperwork and expenses were handled directly between Autobahn and TD Insurance. I was impressed by the professionalism and personableness of Trevor and Sam. They took the stress out of the process. I strongly recommend Autobahn if you need bodywork done on your vehicle. 5 star rating.
