Oh my goodness! The croissants!!!!! That's all I need to say but everything else is excellent as well. It's packed to the door every Sunday morning for a reason. Even though its so busy customers are cheerful and patient because they know the amazing food they're going to get here. Staff ARE excellent! Very helpful and cheerful. Oh my girls love the soft "Crusty" bread too. Parking is always an issue but there's lots of space on the sides of the street.

Delicious bakery! Their bagels are really good and on Fridays you get an awesome deal. Their parking lot is a bit of a nightmare with being on a busy side street and only a couple dedicated parking spots so that's the only reason I've deducted a point. Food quality is excellent. Gluten free options as well which is great!

I truly truly love this place I come here when i need to relax have a good healthy lunch and/or a tasty treat with a great cup of tea. They have amazing crafted baked goods a good selection of gluten free deserts. I love there quiche they make regular and gluten free. They have delishious salads. They cater for events. I once ordered a cherry cheesecake and it was beautiful, high, dense rich, just a joy to eat. If you did no figure it out I think this small business is just delightful its decorated to make you feel at ease. Plus they sell unique items that they find convenient or cool. A cake from Holly's has become a tradition for ones birthday at my house.

We had already been to 2 bakeries while searching for a birthday cake when Holly's was recommended to us by the owner of Cravings. Holly's had a nice collection of cakes, from hazelnut and carrot-pumpkin flavoured, to the more traditional vanilla and chocolate. We chose a chocolate cake with (real!) buttercream frosting and the lady assisting us offered to decorate and personalize it at no extra cost. While waiting, another customer told us their cakes were delicious, and she was right - moist and chocolatey without being too sweet. Everyone enjoyed it thoroughly. (Our cake was $40 and we had enough for 12 decent sized slices). Thank you for the lovely cake - we look forward to visiting again and trying your other offerings!

Normally good stuff, but my mother got a strawberry rhubarb pie (which I like, usually) and there was nothing but giant chunks of rhubarb and whole strawberries... I get it, you're going for rustic but have you ever heard of a knife? (Also, as a personal preference, I prefer a pastry top as opposed to a crumble for proper pies in general)

I have been using Holly's for over 10 years, everything is ALWAYS fresh, delicious and on time. I read the review below, which is mind blowing, as I don't believe they freeze their cakes. You DO keep cakes out for a few hours as they have been refrigerated, but I have never received a frozen cake and never ever freezer burnt! (all of samanthagxox reviews were negative by the way...can't please some people ever!!) They create tasty, moist cakes and their food is made from scratch. I have a party this weekend catered by Holly's again, can't wait!

AMAZING! I went in to get goodies for a photoshoot I was doing and they set me up nicely. After the shoot we enjoyed all the goodies. They were so tasty. It is a little expensive but if you want to solve that sweet craving this is the place. The staff are awesome.

Great coffee, lacking vegan options. The vegan sandwich they offer is bland and not creative at all. If I wanted vegetables in between bread, I would make it myself, you know. If I'm paying that much, I expect good vegan cheese, maybe some smokey mushroom bacon, pesto? I dunno, something as appealing as the other options, not a second thought. I would love to come here for breakfast, but I can't, as they don't offer even a vegan scone or muffin. It's a shame. Also, closed on Sunday. ....

The bread is amazing to buy by the loaf. However, I have had coffee and a scone in my two visits in the new location. Each time the scone is almost inedible. They seem undercooked (doughy) as well as dry. I returned one once but the second was not much better. The last visit I had a latte and the server said he made the best. It too was awful. I was too embarrassed to let the server down by returning it.

Garbonzo Pie

First entering the store it feels like a traditional Italian super market, and it sure is on the inside. I purchased a veal sandwich and a cabbage roll from the hot table for lunch. The line was long since the place was busy but there was plenty of staff to serve us all. The line went quickly and the price was very reasonable for what was practically a home cooked meal. The veal sandwich was delicious. I added mushrooms and sweet peppers to it which added a slight crunch and a bit of sweetness to soft sandwich. The bread wasn't too crunchy which was nice as the meat didn't fall outside the back of the sandwich as I bit into it (which is typical for some veal sandwiches). The sauce was really tasty and reminds me of my grandmothers homemade sauce. Overall a very delicious sandwich. The cabbage roll was as expected. It wasn't amazing but it was a tasty roll and a nice way to get my veggies in my diet. I ended my trip with buying a very delicious chocolate mousse tart. It was a perfect dessert for a fantastic home cooked lunch for a very reasonable price.

Great place for lunch. Love the hot food and good prices. You can get a side of pasta for $3.50 and a fresh bun which is a descent size and great if your not that hungry but want to sit down for a meal. Nice environment and probably some of the best deserts and pastry’s I have ever had. Top notch but deserts are a little pricy but they are quality. Love coming here

Best pizza in Barrie (depending on who makes it on a given day). One of the only places I know where you can get big dollops of ricotta and spinach on a pizza (we order ricotta/spinach/mushrooms/pepperoni - it's awesome) and so inexpensive ($20 for an extra-large)! No delivery however and they close at 6pm, so it requires a little planning.

We have ordered from them before and there sevice was good. Recently we ordered a birthday cake for my sister’s birthday and when we got it, it only had one layer of cake with no filling. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! I don’t know about you but any cake you buy has two layers of cake and a filling that’s what makes a cake. We called them to tell them that there was a mistake with are cake and they told us that we were in the wrong when on there website it clearly says that all cakes come with one layer of filling so BEAWARE and check your cake before buying from them.

Have ordered a few Cakes from here. The overall taste has been good, moist and not so sweet which is perfect for me for which I would give 5 stars. However, the last two times I have felt like I was being a burden ordering a cake (not even last minute orders) Daughters birthday - icing fell off right side. Not a huge deal but certainly a bit disappointed. Sons cake - ordered via email without an inspiration picture, just the invitation for the colour scheme. left the creativity up to the artist and received something I could have got at the grocery store. Dealt with two or three different people via email, first person made suggestions that I liked that were simple enough for a 5 year olds birthday party and the second person basically told me what “I” wanted wouldn’t look good... I was confused as they were the ones making the suggestions, I only provided the colour scheme.

The butter tarts are quite tasty. The crust is flaky but best of all, nice and thin. A thinner crust can't hold tons of tart filling but I think the amount was just right. The meat and chicken pies are great too. Seasoned just the way I like it. No mushy crust. Perfect. Also had the cookies. Red velvet and chocolate chip. Really good too. The owner was very friendly, cheerful even!

Very expensive for what you get. I would not recommend this place... Extremely overpriced! It is after all a very simple Bakery with a small variety of items to choose from. Their prices should be much more reasonable for what they are offering. They also sell some ready-made things and for example one average size jar of pasta sauce was like $11 which you could buy the same for three or four dollars at Loblaws!

I highly recommend the sweet oven. My mom use to make this amazing cheesecake when I was younger and nothing compared, i tried every kind of expensive cheesecake out there and let me say I didn’t know cheesecake like this even existed it’s that good! I’ve tried every kind they have of the cheesecake and tarts. I’m not really a butter tart person but they are extremely good! They have plain cheesecake, Oreo, and skor and you can add toppings like raspberry’s and such, it’s really good, the skor is my absolute favourite you can’t find cheesecake like this at your local grocery stores, or restaurants. Also the staff is very friendly and welcoming they are always so kind to me.

Their website does not indicate that they use lard in their pastry. Only reference under allergies and nutrition is that they are not dairy, gluten, vegan or nut friendly. Many vegetarians eat butter but none eat lard. So indicating that the tarts are not dairy or vegan friendly does not imply that there is lard in their pastry. Also many people do not eat pork products for religious reasons. You need to clarify this on your website.

I ordered a cake for my daughter's 5th birthday and it was beautiful. The attention to detail is very obvious, the time, effort and passion put into her cake was evident from the appearance and from the taste. The cake is very moist and dense with thick icing that is not too sweet at all. I could of eaten this cake all to myself with a tall glass of milk. It was delicious. I will order every cake I never need from Sugar City. They also have amazing cupcakes which I had to try on my way out. Everything is fresh, and moist. Best cake. I received so many compliments on my daughter's cake.

Honestly I was super disappointed with the cake I had made for my aunt and uncles anniversary there was nothing that stood out about it. Literally just tasted like a Betty Crocker cake you would make from a box. The buttercream tasted like the inside of a Twinkie. It didn’t taste like they used real butter at all. Such a lovely place, you can tell the owners are passionate about what they do. They offer many vegan options which is lovely. I purchased a few items and they were all delicious. They were so friendly and made sure we were informed about what we were purchasing. Usually gluten free items I purchase are gritty and dense. I couldn’t even tell these products were gluten free because that’s how good they were! So happy I have tried this place, will definitely be returning.

This is my favourite place to eat in Barrie. It's a little place that sells wonderful, normal comfort food. I like the chicken wraps and nanaimo bars and basically all of the desserts. They sell vegan food as well, but they don't mess around trying make everything super healthy; just delicious, which I appreciate. I bet you couldn't even tell their namaimo bar from a regular one.

Great selection of take away and eat in lunch options! We were thrilled by how big the selection was and how delicious it all was. I absolutely love this place. I ordered a dozen cupcakes for my collegue’s birthday. The lady who helped me was very accommodating and friendly. She put the cupcakes together in a nice box and gave me a “happy birthday” decoration to put on them. They were a hit! Thank you!

JYK delivered exactly what we needed for a celebration at my mom's business. We were looking for something a bit cheeky and funny as it was the 10 year anniversary of her lingerie store (shameless plug for Bravo Fine Lingerie on Dunlop!) and these were absolutely perfect. The cupcakes were a huge hit and were delicious. Everyone was lovely to deal with as well. We were a bit nervous it wouldn't turn out but instead, it was perfect. A few weeks ago I needed a cake for my daughter’s first birthday. I had never ordered from this place before, but had always wanted to. Her cakes always looked so beautiful! Well, I had given Rosary short notice (4 days or so), but she was still able to make the cake I had requested. Not only did she make it in such short notice, it was genuinely the most beautiful cake I had ever seen and I order lots of cakes! It also tasted heavenly! Everyone at my daughter’s birthday commented on how beautiful it was not to mention DELICIOUS!!! Rosary, you outdid yourself on this one and I will be getting cakes from you always! A good selection in all areas. You can find much of what you want here and everything is fresh and ripe. It's a nice environment and you can wonder around, looking at things not seen elsewhere. I don't go here often, though, because it's expensive. My grocery bill is notably higher when I go here. I'd like to see them taking a few cues from Whole Foods, for those prices.

Sandwich bread was very greasy. Cappuccino was very good. If you are planing to study or read, better go somewhere else. Daytime regulars are fairly loud. It’s not the store’s fault, but it’s good to know if you expect that. Went to Starbucks to study instead.

You advertise you are open until 9pm, yet when I arrived at 8:52pm Monday the 11th, your drive through message said "we are closed". I continued up to the window on my way out and there were 4 employees gathered just inside the window, laughing and talking, having a great old time. I guess customer service is a lost art, off to Starbucks I went. Enjoy your laughs.

I used to love this place. The last 3 times I have come the food is not nearly as good as it used to be. The Mac and Cheese is lumpy as hell. The sandwiches are hard and gross. Not sure what has happened. Staff is always very pleasant.

Horrible experience and i will never go to this place again ,last night me and my parents went to panera we ordered 2 hot chocolates and 1 cafe mocha , we received the order while we are sitting there and the entire order was disgusting the hot chocolate had way too much sugar in it and my cafe mocha did not taste even close to a mocha we couldn't even drink it , i went to the server in the kitchen and i complained to her she went asked someone else about the issue she came back she said she can not do nothing for me i brought the entire tray of drinks to the counter and left it and i told her i am leaving she did not seem to care at all and i left , awful customer service and this people should not be working there, complete waste of money

However, when I went into to pick up my cake, the woman who received me was not very friendly to me.
