I have been seeing Dr. Lu since I was a young girl, probably close to 15 years now. No complaints. Appointments are always prompt and billing is handled accordingly. His bedside manner is gentle and professional. I would recommend him to others.

I came here for an eye exam to get new glasses and contact lenses. Got an appointment quite quickly but then was just disappointed - Dr. Lu is quite hectic, speaks very fast, and does not explain what he's doing and why. The best part - when I was about to pay, they charged about $50 more than what the eye exam costs as Dr. Lu had also performed a contact lens adjustment and, without comment, had given me a pair of new lenses. I had requested neither. Refused to pay for a service I did not want and ended up paying way too much for one pair of contacts instead. They also conveniently forgot to give me the prescription so I had to phone in several times to get it by email. While I don't doubt Dr. Lu's work, he strikes me to be more of a business man looking to make a buck wherever he can. Atlantic Eye Centre won't see me again.

I came here for an eye exam as I was complaining of headaches after excessive screen time (reading for my job) and ended up buying my glasses here. It was my first pair of glasses ever. They gave me the incorrect prescription. I brought them back as it made my headaches worse. They recommended that I buy a second pair. At this point I started to feel a little taken advantage of. Being new to glasses and having two insurance policies, I think they racked up my charges and then tried to get to me buy a second pair to fix the problem. I definitely would not go back. Would not recommend.

Today I visited the Atlantic Eye Centre unannounced in the hopes of making an appointment to discuss my concerns regarding a current prescription. Dr. Lu made time to see me immediately to address my concerns, despite my not having made an appointment. Knowing that my issue was minor and would be possible to sort out in the moments prior to his next appointment, he graciously helped me then and there to set my mind at ease and solve my problem. While the thorough care and excellent frame selection do much to recommend this business, it is the unparalleled courtesy and customer service which merit the recommendations I am pleased to make when anyone I know is seeking an optometrist. Look no further if you value quality care, impeccable customer service and a terrific selection of frames and contact lenses. 5 stars out of 5, bravo.

I went in for my very first eye exam. I went to Insight Optomery because it was close to home and had good reviews. The office was clean, organized and modern looking. The receptionist, optometric assistant and optician were nice, helpful and informative. My optometrist was Dr. Roach. I told her I was quite nervous but she told me not to worry its not like dentist haha. I felt calm and comfortable with her. She was outgoing, understanding, and guided me through the whole exam. Nobody pressure me to buy my frame and lense here. But I was so pleased by the professional service and quality of the glasses offered. I bought myself a new pair of metallic silver glasses.

The optometrists seem good and knowledgeable, but I have never experienced a more disorganized office system. They have repeatedly cancelled and moved my appointments without contacting me. I will not be returning next year and will find a different optometrist

I booked an eye exam with the Family Vision Clinic Clayton Park because they were the only clinic that could squeeze me in on short notice. I arrived at the clinic today and was greeted by a friendly receptionist who then turned me over to Dr. Marni Denman. Dr. Marni Denman was very pleasant, thorough, direct, and was fantastic at her job. It's very clear that Dr Denman has a passion for her job. Despite their being roughly 10 clinics between my home and this clinic, I will be returning to Family Vision in Clayton Park because of my great experience today.

A couple of weeks ago I was having great difficulty with sensitivity to light and worried that it might be really serious. When I called my eye doctor of many years, I heard a recording that the offices were "closed indefinitely". A very helpful staff member of the optometrist department at Costco advised that the doctors were booked for the next few weeks but recommended two nearby clinics. I called Family Vision early the next day [Saturday] and explained my fears and they were able to fit me in a few hours later! Dr. Miriam Debly was so understanding. She did a number of tests and discovered I had extremely dry eyes. She prescribed a few things to try which helped immediately. I've seen her since and she suggested a couple of additional treatments. All I've had to pay for at the office so far was the photos of my eyes and a heat mask - about $40. Am I pleased - you bet!

I am a diabetic patient and my family doctor recommended family vision for my eye exams covered by MSI. I have already made a couple of visits and became family visions registered patient. I received a letter from their office informing that my check up is due. An appointment was given for the 26th of July. When I reached the clinic I was asked to pay a fees of $129. I mentioned about by MSI coverage And if they like can check with my family doctor who practices next door. They insisted that either I pay or come next year as MSI only covers once in every 2 years. If this was the case why was I not informed of the fee involved in the letter sent to me or the phone call made to me. The two staff ladies were having this conversation with me while I was waiting in the waiting area with other patient listening.( No confidentiality).This to me was very awkward and embarrassing so I took an appointment for the next day and left. I did some research online and contacted Costco for an eye exam. They not only fitted me in the same afternoon, checked my health card ,I was covered by MSI. The only payment was $20 for the eye photos. MSI confirmed that if a letter was sent to me by the family vision clinic indicating that I am due for an eye exam it should have been covered and that I need to get an explanation as to why this happened. I am really disappointed by the way I was treated by family vision (lacewood Branch).The reason for writing this review is to make sure that the information given to patients is correct and this kind of attitude and behavior should not be extended to any other patient in future.

Dr. Killoran took great care of me, I had an eye infection from wearing contacts & was worried about the repercussions but she looked at my eyes (more thoroughly than my previous eye doctor) & gave me advice on how to avoid getting it in the future & sent me on my way within 30 minutes of entering the place. I used to go here as a kid for eye exams so as an adult I decided to come back, but I was really disappointed. Probably the only good thing about this place is their hours of operation are a bit more flexible than others. I found that my wait time was excessively long, and I didn't find the front desk staff friendly, professional, or helpful. They also failed to inform me of the $35 fee for the contact lens fitting appointment which isn't covered by insurance and does not go towards the purchase of the contact lenses. Would not recommend to others, your money is better spent elsewhere. EDIT: If I would have bought my contacts from Family Vision it would have been $50 per box plus the $35 throwaway fee for the contact lens fitting. Instead I bought my glasses and contacts from Vogue, who gave me an $80 credit for my contacts and their contact lens fitting was free.

I cannot speak of the optometrist themselves, but have done a price comparison for the glasses Ocean Optometry provide after recently visiting, and have never seen such markups in my life. The pair I was interested in was priced at 1400.00$ BEFORE the lenses were even taken into account. Buyer beware. I am sure the quality is fine, but you can find similar if not better quality for a fraction of the price at various independent glasses retailers throughout the city.

I have been a customer for several years now. I have seen both optometrists and can confirm that they both provide professional, knowledgable care. They do extensive testing on your eyes, some of the tests I never had done before and I have been a glasses/contact wearer for 20 years. They also noticed my partner needed corrective lenses, which have alleviated his constant headaches (and his previous optometrist missed). One thing to note, the other reviewers are right - glasses are more expensive here (though they do offer a wide price range). I would just like to add that these are bespoke glasses, so I wouldn't compare their pricing to Vogue or Costco. I have a pair as does my partner and we both love them. I always send business their way, and people always tell me they loved their attentive service.

Wow....I had thought you had treated your customers somewhat fairly when I visited, but after reading your incredibly condescending replies to your customers I cant help but give you 1 star on ground of customer service. Your artisan frames are great no doubt. Coming from montreal, I can with certainty tell you that there are cheaper options for the same quality you provide, but you would have to go to montreal to get it. On the east coast, you are right, you have top quality frames, but in terms of customer service I think one star is generous.

First time i went there everything went well, got my glasses no issues. When i was due for a new pair i went there again, what a mistake. My regular glasses came back and there was something wrong with them. That's fine it can happen. My sunglasses the polarization was uneven, some spots are darker than others and some spots the polarization coating doesn't work. I pointed it out and they sent my glasses back to the manufacture. A week or so later they came back and Eyes on Lacewood told me that the manufacture said it was normal. I told them that is unacceptable. They told me that they would call the manufacture... fine. A few days later they called amd said that there is nothing they can do. They didn't apologized or try to give me a discount. Angry i decided to to to a competitor. I showed them my glasses and asked them if they could see anything wrong with my sunglasses and the first thing they told me is the polarization coating was defective and that i should bring them back to Eyes on Lacewood. I told them i had and that they said they couldn'd do anything about it. They were shocked when i said that. They said that is how you loose customers. Needless to say i won't be going back there again. Good service if there is nothing wrong with your glasses when you go pick them up but if something is wrong when they arrive, you might as well throw them in the garbage and walk away because they won't help you.

if it wasn't for Lynn I never would've returned after my very negative experience at the Lacewood store. I dealt with a girl who was unprofessional and I left feeling so frustrated I said I would never return to that location and would go to their Mumford store to avoid her. When I walked in at the Mumford store, she was now working there so I left just as irritated and went to Lacewood right away. Lynn was nothing less than AMAZING and treated me like I was the only one she was concerned about (there was another person waiting to see her as well so she must be doing something right). So many thanks to Lynn and you have a customer for life with me with her there.

He provided helpful/constructive suggestions to help me maintain my eye sight The ladies at reception (name?) and booking (name?) were very welcoming and professional. Ben was a real pleasure to deal with. He did a great job, assisting me during the pre-analytical steps required prior to my exam with Dr. Chow. He was also very helpful when it came time to choose a new set of glasses. He was attentive when listening to my requirements and thorough when sizing them. As someone who has a ridiculous fear of eye exams, and has had horrible experiences getting glasses, I was VERY pleasantly "blown" away by the incredible service I was given by the doctor, and specifically Victoria, Breanna and Allison. From the first minute walking in the door everyone was incredibly helpful, and when looking at frame options, the ladies were absolutely amazing in trying to find frames that I liked, and within my budget. The help they provided was phenomenal and I can't wait to go back and choose my frames. The first time I went to this clinic was about three years ago - for a simple eye exam and, likely, to order new glasses. I had the exam, picked out a set of frames and they also said that they would order in a set of frames for sunglasses for me to look at. Not having heard anything for three weeks after that, i stopped by the clinic. the only record they has was of my exam. Finally, after much searching they found a basket with my prescription, the frames that I had chosen and a note saying that I was going to think about the frames (??!!??) Nothing had been done about sunglasses. I did get prescription sunglasses,. But, after two years one lens was badly scratched, so I took the sunglasses to this clinic. A new lens was ordered (my sunglasses were sent off to have it fitted in the frame.) When it came back I was told that the employee had decided to get both lenses replaced, "so that they would both be new" or words to that effect. unfortunately, i also let that slide. However, that second lens never fit right and it kept falling out. Recently it felt and I lost it, so I simply put in the old lens (which fits fine and has no defects.) Last week I got a call that it was time for the annual exam regarding cataracts. One set of tests involved switching between lenses to see whether I could see any differences. Unfortunately, the employee who was administering the tests seemed to be in something of a hurry - at least for that last set. Several times when i was asked which lens was clearer for me, as they were rotated through, it was done so quickly that I was unable to determine whether or not I was actually able to see better with one, versus the other, of the pairs that I was supposed to compare. Finally i had to say something more than that I was unable to make the comparison, as it became clear to me that she was writing down that I did not perceive any differences, rather than that I may well have been able to perceive some differences IF I HAD BEEN ALLOWED TO LOOK AT THEM FOR MORE THAN A SPLIT SECOND .I've now been referred to a medical specialist and will have to explain to that doctor about that flawed testing just in case my future treatment might otherwise be based in part on incorrect information. Having said all of this, none of the staff at this office have ever been anything but pleasant .

This business would not stand by their eye evaluation with me. I did not buy lenses right away because I found them quite expensive. instead a few months later I bought lenses at costco because of good prices. But I could not adjust to the new lenses. I went back to costco to make sure the prescription was correct. The lenses were correct so they offered to double check the eye exam and found different results (healthier eyes). When I brought this to the attention of Family Vision Clinic they tried to book me in for another evaluation at full price. asking why they seemed unconcerned with different exam results they cited a 3 month policy. Your eyes probably changed they said. over a couple months my eyes got healthier ok. Even if they did, would they not want me to be satisfied with the service they provide. apparently not unless im willing to pay again. Well if im paying again why not go with a third party that hasn't potentially screwed up. sigh, whatever happen to customer service and standing by your product. I found the initial eye exam rushed and it seemed they were more concerned with trying to sell me lenses. which didn't bother me at the time but in retrospect bothers me because of the differing results. Long story short im out a few hundred dollars with a pair of glasses that make me dizzy to wear. Their lack of interest in the differing eye exams shows a lack of professionalism. and their lack of sympathy to my situation and satisfaction shows something more concerning. I could not recommend this place with any faith. Sure they are probably fine 90% of the time but do you want to be that odd one out and left hung out to dry like me.

THE Best place to get your glasses in Halifax. i got my very first glasses here. When I went to store first time, they showed the best glasses on a very good price and told me come back on Sale day where i can get glasses for free and only pay for lenses which helped to save over $300. Highly recommend this place because they have the best service and the best doctors.

I had an eye exam with Dr. Paula Gaudet, and she was fantastic. She really took the time to explain everything to me. I have never worn glasses nor needed them before. I don't know a ton about vision and optics. I was really impressed with her willingness to explain things in a way that I could understand. I had an eye examination a few years ago, and there was not really much commentary other than, "you don't really need glasses now, but maybe in the future". Dr. Gaudet was great with educating me and telling me what to expect in the future. I can't speak to FYI Doctors' products or eyewear as I have not gone down that route, but for a eye exam or a checkup, I would really recommend Dr. Gaudet.

I've seen a several of the doctors at this clinic (Dr. Scott, Dr. Gaudet, and Dr. McAllister) and they have all been so warm and kind, and very helpful when I was having issues with dry eyes & eyelids. I've also had excellent experience with the sales staff helping to pick out frames! I really appreciated that they were honest and told me when certain frames didn't suit/fit me, and then helped me find something that fits very comfortably and looks awesome!

This place is legitimately the most expensive place in the city to buy your glasses from. They charge the most I've seen for an eye exam, $135 + tax, and after all is said and done, my girlfriend ended up paying more than $500 for her glasses, and she didn't even get the eye exam! (I paid $350 for mine) Maybe the prices are so high because they pay the salespeople to take forever to process a purchase. So warning, if you *do* decide to waste your money here, be sure to have the entire day free.

I went to the walk in clinic with a piece of slag in my pupil. I was referred over to these guys and was seen within the hour to have it removed. They did regular check-ups over the next two weeks and provided eye drops at no cost. I'm grateful for your service and for helping me with that situation. I later got a prescription for glasses and although they offered me a pair to buy I couldn't afford it in store and they were in no way condescending nor did they "guilt" me in to buying. Thank you!

Was slow getting in for my appointment (45 minutes), then got a nice guilt trip when I told them I couldn't afford $350 for a pair of glasses and would be ordering online. Then, when I called back with a couple questions, they couldn't even answer them and told me I should come in and talk to one of the optometrists. It's a 35 minute drive from my house, so no. Not very good service. Staff are "friendly" but condescending. The optometrist was fine, once the appointment finally got started, but the other staff I dealt with were not very helpful.

It seems to us that the staff are too busy and too rushed to give care and attention to their potential customers. Everything there seemed hectic and hard sell. We won't be back.

I walked out of their office frustrated and disappointed. Again. The technical staff are good but the front desk staff are either incapable of making decisions or are unwilling. There's always some complicated reason why they can't help me. And even on the phone there's a brisk attitude without any options. Just "sorry, nothing I can do", which is unlikely because I ended up ordering what I needed myself online in 5 minutes after leaving their office. I've been a customer for years but I'm finally fed up and will be taking my family's vision care somewhere else.

Our family has been coming to this location of Family Vision Clinic for a number of years. Today I had an appointment with Dr. Debly, and I must say she is wonderful. Very prompt, professional and friendly. She is also very thorough! As I needed new glasses, I met with Diane, (who again has been assisting our family for many years). Because of her help in the past I have great confidence in her ability to help me choose new frames. It was a pleasure to have Diane's assistance today. She certainly knows her business and in no time we had frames for glasses and sun glasses. Diane explained everything from transition lenses, progressive lenses to scratch coat on the lenses. I never felt rushed while making my decision and I'm delighted with the choices that I made with Diane's help. I'm extremely happy with the friendly, courteous and professional services that I received today! Highly recommend a visit to this location if you are in need of an eye exam and new glasses. I called several places to see what the earliest time I could get an appointment for an eye exam. Most places had a two to three week waiting period. Family Vision on Portland Street was able to get me in for an appointment two hours after I called them. When I arrived, the optometrist was able to see me within five minutes. After the exam, I was immediately introduced to an assistant who took care of me. She explained everything in detail to my satisfaction. I picked out two pairs of glasses. I was told the glasses would take 7 - 10 days. Five days later, I received a call that my glasses were ready.

However, I was well served by both the staff and the doctors at this clinic. They were patient with my frustration and my crankiness, and worked with me achieve a good outcome. Our family has been going to Bedford Eye Care for more than a decade and we have always been pleased with the service. They have reacted quickly the few times when we needed urgent eye care and have worked with us when the kids damaged or destroyed their glasses (too many times!). If you are shopping for glasses on price only there are cheaper options out there, but we feel that Bedford Eye Care is a good value, and the best overall option, particularly for the kids.

I had a great experience! I received all the information I needed at my first consultation appointment and felt very well prepared for the surgery. My surgery went well and I felt well supported in the days following surgery if I had any questions or concerns. So happy I had the procedure done! The only slight issue I had was that things on the day of surgery took a really long time, I was told someone would come get me for my procedure in the next half hour, but I had to wait another hour and a half before being taken in, which was nerve wracking. Other than that the experience was smooth, I was well prepared for how everything would go and I would definitely recommend Lasik MD!

Now I can see without glasses and they tell me I see better then the average person now. Great people and a great experience. I had such an incredible experience at this Lasik location. I am a very squeamish person (I fainted out cold during my initial consultation) so I was pretty hesitant to go through with this surgery. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating and when I did work up the courage to book my surgery, I could tell they went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and to do everything they could to make the day go smoothly- they went so far as to have someone in the room for the sole purpose of holding my hand throughout the surgery! I think her name was Caitlin and she was an angel. Suzie especially was clearly focused on making sure I felt comfortable leading up to the surgery and had given me her email address so I could ask any questions in the days and weeks leading up to the appointment. The procedure itself was over before I knew it and I didn't faint at all! Dr. Boudreault was friendly and calming and lightening fast. By the following morning I woke up and had better than 20/20 vision! 20/15 vision! If you're a fainter or nervous about this type of thing, I recommend this location. They know how to handle even the most high strung patients and I am so glad I went through with everything!

I had my All Laser eye surgery done 3 days ago! So far so good! My prescription was -8.00 so this is huge for me! The staff in Halifax were amazing! Everything was explained carefully and I’ve found that so far they’ve been bang on about everything in terms of what to expect, timeframes, etc. I was very nervous and anxious and the staff did everything they could to alleviate my fears. They treated me with respect and walked me through each step! To the staff at Lasik MD in Halifax, thank you for playing Oscar Peterson during my surgery, for rubbing my arm and reassuring me gently throughout the procedure... for ALL your kind words and personal service! It all made a difference and I am so grateful!

I've been having some eye problems this year. When I went in with a red eye the front desk said I would need to spend $45 on eye scans in order for the doctor to see me. I told them I had already paid to have the same scans done last month and I just wanted to follow up but they said they needed to do the scans EVERY TIME a patient was to be seen. I just find it a bit of a rip off that they insist on this $45 charge before the doctor will even look at you. Going back to my regular eye doctor who looks at me for free under what MSI covers. Staff and doctors were friendly and knowledgeable though.

Their optometrists are great and I've had great service in the past with a man in the optical department. However today was different. My husband and I went in to find him glasses and the woman in the optical department was rude and not helpful at all. She was giving us the wrong info on prices and then got an attitude when I questioned her because she told us we couldn't even get 1 pair of frames covered and lenses would be 200 each. He is military. We ended up leaving, going down the street to Vogue and getting 3 pairs of frames, all lenses, ALL covered, with great customer service.

Beware this place over charges for eye exams! Typically most places charge 70 to 75 dollars. FYI charges 135! Most insurance company's only cover 50.

Had my eyes checked in December. I had a problem with my left eye that gave me a distorted vision. Dr. Gaudet said they were floaters. Come with aging, nothing to do about it... Problem with vision got worse. Went to another dr. for second opinion. Turns out I have a epiretinal membrane which is a serious eye condition that requires surgery. All those expensive machines they have and still were not able to see this. While the eye dr. without those machines was able to see something was seriously wrong. Also know two people who were told they had cataract while they didn't. Spend your money for your eye care somewhere else.
