We dine there fairly often. Delicious food. Very accommodating. However until recently had not thought to try the steak. It may be the most tender delicious steak we’ve ever had. It’s a special Blue Dot steak specially raised in PEI. Friggen yummy !!!

Was highly recommended by friends however we must have gone on an off day. Mussels were weird. Very fish and bland. Sent back and get a better order but still just not right. Disappointing and opted to not stay for dinner. Very nice atmosphere. Great service. Just must have been an off day for the kitchen.

This restaurant lives up to its reputation. My sister and I went while we were on a trip to the city. It's in a great spot on the harbour. The staff is very friendly and are really focused on providing a great experience. We had a fantastic meal here, I highly recommend it! The scallops were so good! I wish there was one in Toronto

Great restaurant for any celebrations. Fancy ambiance at the evening when I went with my partner. The menu offers a lot of different options. Best patio in town near the wharf that's for sure. Good selection of wine that are offer by the glasses. The desserts were a bit too much for us. Enormous sizes that just doesn't fit for a 3 course meal.

We are visiting from another province and the restaurant was recommended by friends. Our first experience was excellent, amazing food with a super nice and attentive waitress. We liked it so much we went back this evening...only to have a disappointing waitress on our second visit. Food was great but the moment we said no to drinks/appetizers she seemed irked. No friendly talk or attention. We passed on dessert this time because the experience wasn't nearly as fun. It's too bad because we were so pleased the first time around.

Stopped in for a not-so-quick lunch but very delicious lunch. The service was fantastic and the food was absolutely amazing! I definitely would go back many many times to try every pasta on the menu! Also highly recommend the shrimp appetizer!

Awesome. Great experience!! We were seated at the bar instead of a table but it was actually pretty nice. The bartenders were entertaining but not overbearing. The food!!! The food was awesome. That breaded eggplant appetizer was out of this world. The arugula salad (I wish I remembered the fancy menu names, sorry) was great too. The pizza was very tasty. And the pistachio ice cream? OMG!!!! I will come back to try something else on the menu. The food at other people's tables looked sooooo good. Great job guys!!! Service-wise:. We did wait a long time for our food but the place was packed and it was prime dinner hour. The delay was acknowledged and the wait was totally worth it.

Great atmosphere although some tables were quite dark and people had to use the lights on their phones to read the menu. The food was very tasty. Would like to go back and try some other dishes. They all looked good. Had lemon cheesecake with raspberry coulis and fresh fruit. Delicious!

Best burger week burger! So good we had it twice!! Did takeout because it was too cold to wait outside at the dine in door. Staff was all very nice! We will definitely be back but during warmer days so we can dine in. Unfortunately is no parking. Hope this place moves to a better location so we can go all year round!

I came here a few weeks ago to get a donut, and decided to get a latte too once I saw their espresso machine. The server started making my drink, and right in front of me, said to another server, "Can you come do this, I have no idea what I'm doing." However she made the drink anyway... It was a mess. I was going to apologize for getting the drink (since she clearly had no idea what she was doing) when she said to me "is everything ok?" with the most attitude I have ever seen from a server. I said yes, and then she told me Rinaldo's is a restaurant and not a cafe. I cannot believe I was scolded for ordering an espresso beverage, when they literally own and advertise their espresso machine! I said I thought I could order it, since they have the machine, and she told me "we have it but we're not trained on it." What an absolutely useless response. I couldn't believe how incredibly rude, attitudinal and incompetent she was. Literally the worst service (and latte) I have ever experienced.

Best everything I’ve ever had! The bread to start with is amazing, just so perfect with the sea salt and rosemary. For starters we had calamari and risotto balls, and both were absolutely amazing, to die for. The pastas are amazing, especially the cream sauce for the ravioli, and the sea food pasta. Would highly recommend as best Italian in the city

Ordered lasagna which was a disgrace. Smothered in a sauce that was dominated by a strong tomato paste taste. Pasta, for handmade, was a real disappointment. Handmade pasta is usually thin with a melt in your mouth experience. No amount of sauce could distract from the inferior taste of this offering. Do not waste your money. Anyone can make a better lasagna at home.

The 2 stars one is for the food and the other is for the view of the restaurant, this restaurant needs to train their waitresses about customer services, on a Sunday night @ almost 8 pm the restaurant only has three tables including us with 2 waitresses and one of them is busy restocking the wine shelves and the other is running around not listening to what people want from her. Food is good however it took almost an hour to come. Which is weird for not a busy night. Not the first time to visit and won’t be the last because of the good view and atmosphere. But kindly work on the customer service skills for your waitresses.

Came here for burger week. I'm a working professional and was treated as a subclass of customer because I was here for burger week and was in a fleece sweater that was evidently not "fancy" enough and I was a party of one. I was treated as "less than" from the moment I walked in as the hostess said "oh good you can be in and out quickly" with attitude. I pride myself on being a polite individual but was greated with this same attitude by my server as I reached my table. The food was fantastic but service was rude.

If do you do not value customer service or a friendly atmosphere, go here. The food, pricing, venue, and view are great though so it is worth a visit. I have tried this place out a number of times with a number of different friends, who have all noted that the staff seemed quite cold, but have only visited for brunch so maybe you'll have better luck with dinner.

They’ve got a good thing going on! Right next door is Garrison Brewing which lets you bring food into their patio! So I highly recommend ordering a pizza and eating it while drinking awesome beer. We ordered the New Yorker and The Ambrosia pizzas. Both were delicious but the New Yorker was amazing!!

Had the pepperoni pizza with Caesar salad and it was fantastic. The staff were friendly, the place was clean, and the service was fast. The pepperoni was very fresh, and I loved that they didn't pour on the sauce. It really helped the cheese, pepperoni and dough shine through.

New to Halifax and very disappointed by the experience. Lots of employees passing by not greeting us, one had an extremely cold expression on his face. The girl who served us was pleasant though. The guy at the cash overcharged us by almost four dollars, I had to correct him. To top it off, WORST cannolis I’ve ever eaten (the filling was blandish and the shells was overcooked and tasted like old oil) Made me miss Little Italy (Montreal) sooo much

The Bayer's Lake location has to be the best Eastside in the Maritimes. My wife and I have been frequenting it for the 10 years we have been together and it always a) consistent b) timely and c) friendly. Service is always top notch with servers being attentive to your cups, bread situation or even salad needs. The food is plentiful and we always leave with a takeout container. Prices reflect quality and quantity quite fairly.

We went here tonight for my dad's birthday dinner and had the best experience! The food was tasty, our server was excellent, and I ordered the new grilled chicken entree. Unfortunately my chicken was burnt, but rather than serving it to me, the Manager approached our table and offered the option to remake the dish (another 10 minute wait) or make something else. I really appreciated that offer, and super appreciated that they didn't just serve me an overcooked chicken dish (I likely would've felt too bad to say anything). When the dish came, which was relatively quick, it was absolutely delicious! Great experience and we will be back. Thank you so very much.

I normally love this place.. but my last visit was horrible, I had a hairs baked into the bread and my spaghetti and meat balls were terrible.. noodles tasted like they were sitting in water way to long and the meatballs tasted like they we put in the microwave... wasnt even offered a discount for anything..

Party of 8. We had no trouble being seated at 630pm. Dining room is very dark with low lighting. Difficult to read menu. Unable to read blackboard about 8 feet from table. Entrees were quite good, and nice portion size. desserts not so much, too small with little flavour. Calamari appetizer was great. Server was exceptional. The chairs are terrible.

This is a great place for a quiet lunch in the park. If you are traveling or meeting with people with sensory issues, this might be a good choice - it is neither bright nor noisy. The panini selections are all delicious. Unfortunately the restaurant is often quite chilly. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful, but the food is not exceptionally fast. The team is quite honest - we have arrived and been told they are short-staffed and how long the wait is likely to be - very helpful information on a lunch break!

Reasonable prices, nice staff, solid pasta. I find the atmosphere nicer in the evening, as it can feel a little too bright and hollow with too much day light. All things considered, it's your best bet for pasta without going downtown and for a reasonable price.

I took the seafood linguini, the seafood in it was tasty, but the garlic sauce that i took instead of the dill sauce with the pasta was not tasting nothing. My husband loved the carrot curry soup and his lasagna. Thank you to the vines team for this great experiences.

The food was good and was served promptly, but the waiter didn't come back to ask us how the meal was or if we needed anything. My plate was taken away before he came back to the table. There was a large party there so we wound up waiting. This was my first visit to Vines Restaurant and I was expecting it to be good. Food was tasty, had the Mediterranean spaghetti and wife had the chowder. Will I come back? Probably not.

Called at the last minute realizing we were in the area and were told to come on down. Seated right away and the server was warm and friendly. We were hungry so we asked for appetizers as fast as they could manage it and we were not disappointed. We ordered rice balls and calamari and they also brought the nice warm fresh bread. Excellent quality and taste. For mains we had a special for the night Seafood Linguine which was loaded with fresh seafood and a Roast Veal dish. Both were very tasty and excellent value. A great meal at a very realistic price. We will be back.

Pleasantly surprised! I have driven by this place for years and decided to give it a try. Great friendly service and ambiance. Lots of variety on the menu. I had a pasta dish chicken and pesto. Absolutely delicious! Shared a couple of appetizers and thought they were great. Will be returning soon!

A lot of review mentioned the decor, and while it hasn't been updated in a while but I don't think it needs it. The restaurant has a great charm and a great atmosphere and it almost feels like you're eating in a family home, don't change a thing! We had a great meal and amazing service. We will definitely be back.

If you have not gone for a meal here yet, you are definitely missing out on one of the best Italian restaurants around. This evening, our group of five all had different appetizers and main courses. Everything we had was a cleaned plate. Pastas, pizza, soup, salad, and desserts. I want to point out in particular their " World's Greatest Tiramisu". I am not sure if it could take out everyone in the world, but it was certainly the best one I ever had. A very generous serving with a well-proportioned amount of Amaretto and espresso. The free fresh bread for the table was also a great touch. It may seem out of the way, but it is so worth a visit. Try their pasta buffet Wednesday night if you are looking for a little taste of everything. Stealing a Food Network phrase...you gotta eat here 😀👍🍴

This place is very good to hang out with friends , family or anyone. The place with good food and service. One of the good things I like about this place is it has pool board. You can play your favourite music while playing pool. Good place to spend time. The only problem I noticed is that when the place is full, it’s a bit difficult to move around. It becomes very congested. Otherwise, it’s worthy to give it a try.

Convenient location for a meal before a concert at Scotiabank Centre. We were seated and waited on promptly. Pan fried haddock was good- didn't rewrite the recipe books, but good. Her chipotle burger was big enough to share. Would try one of their delicious looking pizzas next time. Bathrooms are a bit hard to find if you're at the wrong end of the restaurant, but that's only a minor observation, not a complaint.

Wonderful restaurant - balancing itself perfectly between upper-scale dining and affordable family value, this establishment delivers the most consistent dining experience I've had the pleasure to enjoy. The staff are friendly and efficient, the food is is ready in a timely manner, and the environment is comfortable and warm. Couldn't recommend higher - 10/10! Ambiance was great, service was fantastic (5 stars for both of those). But the food was nothing like what we have tasted and tried in all our experience and trust me we have quite a bit having traveled to over 20 countries and lived in 4 continents. For example, Il Trullo by Dartmouth waterfront has extremely good food and their large pizza is $18, compared to the tiny 9" here for $15. Again, not sure if there was a really good chef in the past and there were any changes in that area. Really you should have a chef who is Italian and I think I have seen an Asian man which is ok, if he was born and bought up in Milan and was into food. Just saying you have to find the right people for the right job. Thanks.

Food is always good. Love the pizza and the clams. My wife loves the Chicken Tetrazzini. We visit the food truck and restaurant quite often. A great place to go for a special occasion. My one complaint would be the fries are very skinny and they are stingy on the portion and ketchup :p

Outstanding food. Biggest problem was trying to figure out what to pick, as I've never been somewhere with so many options I want to try. Absolutely delicious meal, some of the best calamari I've ever had, and the seafood risotto was absolutely exceptional. The mushroom pizza was also excellent, and the breaded pork chop was delicious. Butterscotch pie was also very good.

Beautiful atmosphere. Food took a bit longer but still reasonable. Great servers. Amazing pasta, beef tenderloin was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Would recommend.

Amazing food, great atmosphere. My only issue with our visit was service. We're a younger couple and the server definitely made us feel like we were not as important as her other tables. I would be a little more understanding if it was packed busy but we came for dinner fairly early, there were only three or four other tables in the restaurant. She did not bother to check on us except to take our order and give us our bill. Really disappointing as I love this place - it's one of my favourite in Halifax. But I am now lukewarm on returning for dinner service.

My wife and I stopped in here on a whim, a saturday night at about 7pm. The place was fairly busy but the stuff were very quick to take care of us. The bartender at the time definitely knew his wine and made pertinent suggestions. The food was very good - I had the gnocchi and my wife had the calamari and a butterscotch pie for desert. I go wish the gnocchi had been a bit more firm, but was impressed the food came so fast. What really stood out was the ambiance, it's a beautifully decorated place and well lit.

I had the pork chops and my partner had the pasta with tenderloin. While my meal was stellar, my partner found his tenderloin to be very under seasoned. We couldn't send his plate back because our waiter pretty much disappeared as soon as our order was taken. Our food and bill was delivered by who I assume to be the manager. No drink refills, no check ins. The saving grace was the manager who took my partners meal off the bill (and was super nice about the whole thing). I wish we would have had a chance to send the plate back instead of just getting it comped.

One of the best and highest standards of service I came across after a long time. Authentic Italian food. Pizza was awesome. Pasta was nice. I ordered one of the Domestic craft beer according to my taste. I loved it. It was better than many popular ones. I loved the ambience of the restaurant. A perfect mix of everything to spend a nice cosy evening among family and friends. Highly recommended.

Salvatore's ham hero is one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten, and I am not a ham sandwich person otherwise. I don't eat out very often, but this has a regular spot in my rotation. My only complaint is that if you're ordering takeout, it can be quite slow, but it's been improving.

Best pizza I've had in Halifax so far, hands down. Pretty heavy on the mushrooms if you get the fungi pizza, so maybe reconsider and just get a pizza with some mushrooms, unless you literally want a mountain of mushrooms. Like a literal mountain, no joke. Probably on me though. Cheese or margarhita is the way to go if you want to really get the crust and sauce, which are standouts

Waited an hr and 15 mins to pick up a large pizza and medium garlic fingers (maybe they were under staffed that night? ). Once we got it home we were disappointed with the amount of donair on the pizza, small pieces and low quantity. The cheese was excellent and the dough good and soft.

New owners have totally ruined a Halifax landmark pizza shop. Old owners showed them how to make the pizza like they have for 30 years but the new owners obviously wanted to save money so they are turning out some of the nastiest pizza in Canada. Quality went from a 10 to a zero. Save your money and pick up a premade pizza at sobeys, trust me it couldn’t be any worse than what this place puts out.
