This is the most terrible customer service experience I've ever had with dry cleaners. I dropped off my suits that I urgently needed for the next day, the lady promised me 10:00 AM, $4.85/suit (ironing only). When I returned the next morning to pick them up, they were not ready and were not going to be until 4:00 PM! I was completely disappointed, the girl blamed the lady and said she was new and that she should've never promised me 10:00 AM. She said I could complain to the Manager. When I called the Manager, he was a total jerk and asked me if I had it in writing what the first lady had told me! He said I should be careful next time. He was arrogant, rude, and not a single word of apology or understanding. Instead, he blamed me for not reading the signs but trusting his staff instead!

This place wouldn’t take my coat to fix a torn pocket, said it was dirty and needed to be cleaned before they could fix it. Sneaky up-sell tactic! When I told them that I didn’t want to pay to clean the jacket (cause it wasn’t dirty), they refused to fix the pocket on my coat. Went to another tailor down the street who laughed when I told him the story and he fixed up the coat pocket right away at a great price. Thanks for refusing your service as I’ve since found a better option!

I don't recommend foreigners to this store, and keep in mind to take more careful to check your heavy coat before you leave the store. When I picked up my winter coat in this store, I paid it immediately and didn't checked it before I left the store. But I back to my home 20 minutes later and find one of sleeve is wet, down feathers gets together and heavy smell, it seems not dry cleaning, just normal water cleaning, so I back to the store again as soon as possible. However, the manager refused to give an explanation and deal with it, and asked me to inquire about this problem to another Martinizing store by myself, but other store is far away from me, I haven't cash in hand to take the bus at that time, and my phone number is cancelled two days ago so that I can't check the routes. Also, she denied take this responsibility of her just 40 minutes later when I back to store. That's her attitude to deal this kind of problem. I don't know why, because I am Chinese, not local people, or I'll leave this city a month later. It doesn't worth 40 dollars. I lived in Halifax 11 months, it's beauty and kind warm people that even I am not willing to leave, but this thing is the worst thing I met in Canada, and that woman is worst people I feel in Canadian.

I'm truly impressed with their invisible zipper replacements!! I took my pants and skirt to another tailor shop before I went to Martinizing, and the lady, at the other shop, complained about me being difficult because I wanted the zipper to be invisible and tried to convince me to go with an alternate zipper even though my clothes originally came with an invisible zipper. She told me to go to another shop so I went to Martinizing on Mumford. At Martinizing, they had no complaints about the zipper replacement. I came back 2 days later to pick it up. They did an amazing job!! It looks perfect. Exactly what I wanted. Thank you!

I dropped off two Canada Goose jackets on June 22, and picked them up on July 5. I noticed that one or my jackets was damaged. The fur on the hood was out of shape. They were very nice to say they will send back and see what they can do. After few days I was told they will try to soften the skin part of the fur. Then few days later, I was told they will replace the fur for me. Since that time, my waiting began. I call them every week for updates. They keep telling me that ' don't worry, the owner has your jacket, it's just not here yet'. After ONE AND HALF MONTH, in August, I told them I need to leave Canada in September, I need my jacket back before Sep 1. On August 18, I finally receive the call from them told me that my jacket is ready to pick up. I went to the store immediately. I was disappointed and up set. They did NOTHING to my jacket EXCEPT put a HOLE on it. However, I didn't get angry with the cashier, cause I knew she can do nothing. I asked she to tell the owner to contact me since she refuse to give me his number. I will update after he contact me.

Unfortunately my experience with Koolex Kleaners was a poor one. I had opted to try this facility as it is close to home and the reviews posted online were not too scary (though one Yelp user did note the incredibly high prices). I dropped off seven items, mostly silk, as I prefer to invest in quality pieces and to have them well taken care of. The girl I left the items with (Renee) was very pleasant, but I noticed there was no subtotal on the “receipt” she handed me, nor were any prices posted inside their facility. I chose the longest option available, 7 days, in order to make the items more affordable. Upon returning to pick up my items I was told that the only two light coloured items I had left were returned “not cleanable” and had many stains on the front. This was concerning, as I don’t recall them being stained pieces to begin with. Upon examining the items, they were indeed marked. The woman assisting me (Donna) recommended we send the items back as they were not cleaned properly, which I agreed to. I had expected not to be charged for items that were not cleaned (as the service was not performed) but I was told that I had to pay the invoice in full in order to receive my other items back. When I said I was not comfortable paying for items that were still being serviced I was told that if I wanted to complain I could call the manager who worked offsite at the facility, Joe. As I needed my items to wear to work, I paid for my $130 outrageous bill, and left upset. When I got home I saw that Koolex chose to attach my silk skirt and pants with safety pins to their wire hangers, thus leaving the items marked. While I have yet to return to Koolex to pick up my light items (though at this point I’m not expecting much) or speak with Joe, I felt I should write a review to warn others of the lack of service (the items were not cleaned), lack of customer relations (I was charged for items that I have not yet received and that were not cleaned) and exorbitant prices ($28 plus tax to clean a dress). Please, if you’re reading this, go elsewhere.

I have to echo a previous review. Took my suit pants to get tailored. Said I needed it within a week, she said no problem. Come back a week and I realize she hasn’t even started. She says come back in an hour. Let’s just say I don’t have high hopes for the quality of the tailoring for a rush job for my suit.... would not recommend any work for your important clothing. Come back an hour later... still working on it and I need to wait another 30mins Overall the tailoring work was good though.

This place is sort of a mess. I was quoted a week wait time for my items, went to get them and she hadn’t even started. I said I’d be back the following day to get them, but actually didn’t return for another 4 days. When I came the second time, she then said she “forgot” to do one side of my pants....🤦🏼‍♀️ I haven’t tried on my items yet but let’s just say my expectations are not high! Wouldn’t recommend.

Took a prom dress in to get altered, and I took it in very late, a couple days before my prom, and Kim managed to fix my dress on time and did an amazing job, it feels and looks great!! Would highly recommend this tailor! Very reasonably priced as well! I am throughly pleased with her work.

Kim fixed by wedding dress and made it fit me perfectly. I made a mistake of bringing my dress to the "best tailorshop in town" but was ruined. I brought it over to Lillian's Tailorshop and asked if she could save it and she did a beautiful job. She is also nicer to deal with than the guy across the road.

I took in an expensive duvet cover to be cut down in size from king to queen. The duvet had piping on all 4 sides. When I got it home and took it out of the bag I found that the piping wasn't put back on 2 adjacent sides.....the look of the duvet was ruined!! The tailor made no mention that he just cut it off and sewed it up. He charged me $40 to do the work. Poor work and dishonest in my mind and I wont go back there again.

Wow! That is all I can say. I have dropped off jackets and pants that I thought were done for sure and then come back to find them back in perfect condition. On my latest visit I dropped off suit pants that I never thought were fixable. When I came to pick them up they looked perfect. Better yet they fit better then they did before I ripped them. Can't say enough good things about this shop. Friendly staff and fantastic work. I would be broke or really poorly dressed if it was not for this place. If there were more stars I'd give them.

Unfortunately I was quoted a spacific price for washing, the actual paid price was $20 in the difference. Laundry came back missing items, stained, and damp. Some clothing despite still eing damp was folded and placed in a plastic bag so it can get that nasty damp cloths smell. A few socks came back individually wrapped in cellophane 😂... Why??? Its OK I work for a mentally incapacitated person whose washing machine was broken. If you would have been willing to just talk to me we could have sorted the issues out! But when I get ignored and receive such poor service! what could have been 5 loads of laundry energy 2 weeks... Well I will take my business elsewhere. I do not recommend this company not one bit.

As well the washing machines only take 26 minutes to complete which is amazing. Overall I highly recommend this Deluxe Laundromat and specially the lady working there. Thank you.

I like the location because it is close to my home, but the service is terrible. There are at least two women who work here that basically spend their entire time outside smoking cigarettes. On one occasion, I was walking in with my laundry, the lady working there was outside smoking, and gave me a dirty look when she saw me coming in, because it meant she had to put out her smoke and come in the shop. Terrible service.

This is a good-sized laundromat with lots of different sized washers. The owner is a little disgruntled gentleman but helpful..! He will answer your questions or help you out. It’s best if you just take his advice! It’s clean and efficient here. We went on a Wednesday morning and didn’t have to wait for a machine. Lots of side street parking too!

Garden Cleanup

Very good laundry facility. Just spacious enough to feel comfortable, and plenty of washer and dryers available the 2 times I have been there the past 2 weeks. I recently moved into the neighbourhood, and will be returning tommorrow. The prices are modest, and thankfully they have free Wi-fi with a strong signal, as well as adequate washroom facilities. I am pleased to give a postive review.!

Friendly staff, option of changing coins for you to pay the washing machine and dryer if you do not have the precise kind of coins needed and decent opening hours. Point of improvement: Would like to see a bike rack and the option of paying with a credit card instead.

OPA! Who knew I would find a Greek-Canadian in Halifax! Google reviews are correct, THIS is the place you need to come when you are a tourist in Halifax and need clean clothes. BTW, the Cappuccino next door is good too!

I brought two duvets for washing and they were ready as promised, neatly packed in clean bags. Great service. The laundry products that were used had a very strong fragrance. It still lingers even after being out on the clothesline overnight. Next tim I would bring my own soap if permissible.

After a delightful phone call with the owner, I decided to bring my industrial sized Ikea bag that was overflowing with laundry, down to the Bluenose Laundromat. During my walk, I was looking behind me to ensure I wasn't leaving a trail of unmentionables behind me. Thankfully, I arrived with everything, and I was greeted by a lovely woman. I, literally, dropped my bag on the fkoor with relief ( it was heavy) and was told it would be done by 6pm. Could it be this easy? Sure enough, I arrived at 6pm with my 6 year old, and it was as if we were family. She told me she was able to do two loads. The total was $20 taxes in. I was pleasantly shocked! I had two Queen sheet sets, a Queen duvet cover set, towels, bath sheets, and jeans and the list goes on. Everything was beautifully organized and wrinkle free! I highly recommend the Bluenose Laundromat!

I used this dry cleaner several months ago and was incredibly disappointed. I brought a silk blouse, 1 trench coat, a white men's dress shirt and a military mess kit. The trench coat had a coffee stain on it, men's dress shirt a lipstick stain (clearly my fault there) and the mess kit did not have any stains, but required cleaning and pressing. I didn't think to check these items prior to leaving the dry cleaner because they let me know that everything was fine. Once I went to put the clothes away, it became quite clear that everything was not fine. My silk blouse was still wrinkled, my trench was wrinkled and the coffee stain was still present, the men's dress shirt still had the lipstick stain on it and the mess kit was crumpled as well. I kept these garments hanging in my vehicle so I don't believe that anything happened from the dry cleaner to my home. Basically, I felt like I wasted a bunch of money and actually paid to have stains set in. Not impressed.
