We went here for a family wedding anniversary. Atmosphere is very inviting and the stuff are excellent! I had the mushroom risotto and it was to die for, absolutely delicious. Everyone was satisfied with their meals and a bonus was that our waiter spoke Portuguese, great for my in-laws who's English is limited!

Relaxing atmosphere with great service. Perfect place for a date or a simple get together. Grilled octopus is very delicious. Highly recommended dessert choice, so definitely leave some room to enjoy them. Looking forward to my next visit.

Great experience! This place has the food quality and service and and ambience totally under control! The seafood saffron I had was cooked perfectly was great flavours of saffron and all the seafood cook to perfection including the mussels and squid. Fine dining with white tablecloth’s and mainly Portuguese cuisine. Not cheap, but reasonable considering the high quality. You won’t go wrong here.

Great Portuguese restaurant. The food is excellent at this place and they have authentic Portuguese dishes. Portuguese restaurants are not too common in the world, so here you have a very good one, and the dishes are delicious. The focus in on sea food, and they also have a great selection or wines from Portugal and portos. Enjoy!

Service was an absolute disaster. Western restaurant owned/operated by Asians, who do not know what service really means. Had to ask which dish belongs to who, literally minutes after taking the order. Only good thing is that food is decent, THANK GOD. Pleasantly surprised with their quality of food. We recommend one of their set combos as it's a great value for soup, salad, main and dessert. I always opt for the filet mignon for extra cost but totally worth it because it's always cooked to perfection. Their latest addition is truffle salt with your main, it's to die for!

If you're lucky enough to eat here you'll understand why this place is a hidden gem. Incredible service. Food is unexplainable. You feel like you're in another world. Hands down one of the best restaurants in Toronto, if not in the world. Will NOT be disappointed. Chef is a genius.

Robin (formerly of Toronto Temperance Society fame) makes the finest cocktails you'll ever have. He's modest and down to earth and just happens to be an absolute master. Also, the food is excellent, equal attention to presentation, flavour, texture, and ingredients. Service here is a perfect balance of friendly and formal. Sitting at the bar during sunset is ideal as the glassware and shelf are backlit. Pricey, but well worth it.

Hidden jewel of the neighbourhood. Great and friendly service. Had a great time. Reservations definitely required; it gets packed with locals and repeat customers. Very family oriented crowd and big smiles on everyone's face. This is one of those keepers. The portions are Italian. Quality is always there. I recommend coming once a month.

Five star food and service without the pretentious white glove and table clothes. The 3 hour service flew by. We were presented with on point details about each dish, and wine pour which added to the experience. Cutlery, and glasses were changed with each plate. We thoroughly enjoyed every dish and appreciated the attention and care the service team provided us with. I would highly recommend Alo for a special occasion.

One of the best things about a great meals is to talk about it. Alo is probably one of the best restaurant in the world. While the all the dishes are unique, fantastically and perfectly executed, what really stood out for us was the service, the attention to detail, the ambiance of the restaurant. There are lot's of people working to make sure that your visit is one of the most memorable meals of your life, a truly special occasion, this goes beyond the food. I would highly recommend Alo any occasion.

The first time I went in I ordered a fest with 9 pieces of chicken, I got home and they gave me a tiny macaroni salad. Not to mention they had this lady working in the back and she was being so loud talking about how they were all big pieces of chicken?? Wired.. So I called the manger Rick and told him about this and he said he would replace the order. So I go back and they have this other women there and she has so much attitude. Gave me a hard time and when packing my food she was slamming the boxes on the counter! I will never go back here all these people have serious attitude problems, I pay you money you give me good service it’s a easy as that! You don’t like your job.. get a new one! So disappointed!!

Food was great, but after spending so much on New Year's Day dinner, and waiting to drive home to eat, when we sat down and opened everything to eat finally, we were missing part of our order! I called and asked how that could happen, she asked me to bring receipt in instead of apologizing and compensating on next meal. Wonderful chicken, but horrible customer service! I do recommend the food 100% but do be sure to check bag before leaving that order is complete!

My sister, Christina, her husband, Adrian, and I came for dinner after doing some shopping and as usual the food was superb and the service, server Laura, was top notch. Extremely polite and very attentive, restaurant was full, she, Laura, always had a smile. We had calamari, oysters, and a beer salad to share and had fish and chips and a beef dip followed by desert and coffee. Once again I say that we couldn't go wrong coming here, to bad I live so far away.

A bit overpriced for what you get. A thin layer of fries for the fish and chips is just plain disappointing. Simply put, they could have increased the quantity of food for the price they charged, or lower the prices. We had also come in for their Monday special, but they "ran out". How do you run out on your specials? Feels like a bit of a bait and switch. Food tasted decent and the service was alright. If prices were better, they'd be a 4/5.

We had dinner last night for my husband’s birthday. Jake’s is one of our favorite restaurants to go. We had 13 in our group, informed the booking person that the reservation was for a birthday. When we arrived for our 5pm booking we were told that they had booked another group for 7 pm and we had to leave in time to accommodate this group. If we had been told prior to arriving I would have booked elsewhere. To be rushed out of the restaurant on a special occasion and obviously with the total cost of the meals made the experience extremely disappointing!!! We received great service from our waitresses. Just when some guy stationed at the door walked past our table quite a few times I guess to ensure that we are all getting ready to pack up and vacate the restaurant on time was horrible. We always enjoy our meals at Jake’s and the service is normally great this time was just a really disappointing experience!!!

Jake's is our go to for really fresh, tasty oysters and seafood! Everything is made fresh with special mention to the crabcakes which are loaded with crab and no doughy filler! The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. We love to pop in, sit at the bar and have some snacks but it's also a nice place for a date or a special meal.

Really nice place! Was there for lunch with some colleagues. Lunch special, I love specials, was a blackened white fish. Very good. Enjoyed it a lot! Overall experience is very good. Owner spent a few minutes getting to know us, which was a nice touch. Wait staff was quick and efficient for a larger group. I would like to go back for dinner because if the lunch was this good, I would like to see what they could do with dinner! Getting to Jake's is a bit tricky, so use Google maps for sure. I would recommend this restaurant. A bit on the pricey side, but worth it!

It was such a pleasure to visit Day & Night Firewood Steakhouse! We received a Groupon as a birthday gift and thought it'd be nice to have a double date with my parents. The food was absolutely amazing and steak grilled to perfection. Each subsequent course of our 4-course meal impressed me more than the previous one. The only thing that impressed me more than the food was the impeccable service we received! Our servers were incredibly helpful and friendly. They kept a professional demeanor throughout our entire visit. That, alone, made our visit very enjoyable. Thank you for a great experience!

A true gem. Absolutely Love this place!! Dont be fooled by the decor. Great service, friendly staff and even better food. The prefix menus are an excellent value for 39.99 you get an appetizer then soup, salad, main and dessert. The rib eye is my favorite and the firewood grill gives it so much flavor, cuts through like butter. The New Zealand lamb is to die for also. Fall off the bone. Everything is always cooked to perfection. Highly recommended for a date night. You wont be disappointed by Day & Night!!!

Wow, what a great place to eat. Top quality Great Value but hidden location. My wife found this on Groupon. We got a great deal even at regular prices fantastic. We will definitely go there again. Steak and lamb cooked exactly two medium on a wood charcoal fire That gave it excellent flavor and cooked perfect. The flavor of all the foods was brilliant definitely I would almost say fine dining. In both presentation and quality of food. The location is a little off the beaten path in a nearby strip mall in a residential neighborhood but thank God for finding it is fantastic.

Had the Strip loin steak combo done rare. The steak was a little over done closer to medium rare and it did not have a good sear on the steak even though it was done over a fire grill. The steak however was tender and tasty so for the price it is pretty good. The mixed green salad was not the freshest and the Cesear sale was much better but the portion was really small. Overall still good value for the money.

This place is located in the lobby of a hotel and probably difficult finding this resto as its in one of those alleys in Downtown where not much is happening but the ambience and the staff is great. Food tastes good, the bread is made in-house and the Lobster Bisque was amazing. I was with a friend and she had the best orange wine here (only downside is the limited wine list).

I had lunch here on Mondays they have a special, this week's special was the momma burger for $3.99. it was delicious, so good I had to order a second one. I had one with regular sauce and one with spice, the regular is better in my opinion. Would I go back, yes, the staff were nice and actually brought the food to my table. The price on the loose chicken seems a bit up there but I think I'll try a 2 piece next time.

Huge beer selection, cool location, nice staff. Had mussels and the schnitzel sandwich both really good. I thought there would be more of beer garten style food though, this was kind of just a pub. Went on a Friday, it was really busy and we had a lot of fun, but I guess they only have bands on Saturday, I thought they had bands all weekend but could be wrong.

Is better to come here via TTC, there is no parking space and is too expensive to park in this area. They serve the biggest and the most juicy oysters compared to the other locations in my experience. Great service, short waits. I like to come here for beer and wings after work with my friends, good pricing too

Nice staff but the food was not that great overall. I’d easily pay $10 more per dish if it was good. The mussels had probably 5-6 cloves of ginger chopped up and put in it and the balance was extremely off. As for the schnitzel burger, it was okay but there was just something unpleasant about it that I could not pinpoint. Beer tastes like beer depending on the company - craft is always pretty good. The Caesar was sub-par with an off balance mix and too much Tabasco.

My partner and I went to Bier Markt's King St location for the first time on a busy Saturday evening when there was live music playing. The food was absolutely terrible. We ordered three items including the Markt Burger, the Duck Wings, and "Hand-Stretched" Smoked Sausage Pizza. The Burger and Fries : -A terrible disappointment for a $17 burger... -The flavours from the burger were acceptable, but there was something wrong with the patty preparation as it crumbled and broke when picked up. -The french fries that came with the burger were under cooked - and by under cooked I mean you could wobble the french fries in hand like a pool noodled. Unfortunately, after notifying the staff, the recooked fries were no better. The Duck Wings - These were great! "Hand-Stretched" Smoked Sausage Pizza - Besides the wobbly, under cooked french fries, this was the biggest embarrassment for $18 - The texture and taste of the dough/crust of the pizza tasted stale and, I say without hyperbole, tasted and felt very similar to a frozen store bought pizza. The pizza overall lacked toppings and was incredibly lacking in flavour and texture. Lower cost, commercial pizza's from in the area, such as Blaze, Mama, or Pizzaiolo far exceed what is being served here. Again, without sounding too dramatic, the refrigerated, fresh, bring home and oven yourself pizza's from Lowblaws up the street on Queen are a far improvement to the pizza here - both in regards to crust quality and topping quality and quantity. Other notes: - We ordered a dry hopped sour beer which was good - For how busy it was the service staff managed fairly well - Saturday nights here are surprising busy and feature a live band. It may be loud if you're hoping to have conversation with a larger table.

First time here recently. No real parking available in the immediate area as the curb side parking is generally always taken. Park in the garage nearby and walk, save yourself some time. Inside is open and spacious, don't feel like you are sitting on top of one another. Staff were friendly and good, time I went the location was not overly busy. Food was fresh, portion of what I ordered was good and what you would expect for the price. Definitely go again and try something else from the menu.

We had a friend visiting from Yellowknife. He likes beer, a lot, so we decided to go here. I've been here about 5 or 6 times in the past few years and it's been hit or miss. From my personal experience, I've found that the service in the bar area is poor and about average in the dining area - food has generally been good. Last night's poor experience in a nutshell. Greeted promptly at the door and at the table. Waited 20 minutes to order beer. One of us ordered food at that point. Food arrived about 20-25 minutes later (wings and fries), but beer was nowhere to be seen. Asked where the beer was and were told to be patient and it can take some time to arrive. Beer arrived about 10 minutes after that. We asked if we could also order food when beer arrived and were told to wait. Waited another 20 minutes before asked if we wanted anything else. At that point we had already decided we wanted to leave so asked for the bill. Fries were deducted from the bill as a good gesture. To be fair, the food (that we sampled from our one friend that had ordered) was delicious - both the fries and wings. We then went to JOEY and the service (and atmosphere) there was excellent in comparison - glad we did because we were able to enjoy the evening after that.

Had a blast grabbing drinks at the bar. Kristin, the bartender, was very helpful in choosing our drinks. Even though the place was packed, service was still good and outstanding. The manager made sure we were accommodated and asked us how we were. We had a good conversation about the place and learned about their love of beer. Cheers 👍🍻

Good venue with decent menu and beer selection. HOWEVER, we made a reservation for 30 people well in advance, and they did not staff up for it at all. The service was unbelievably slow. Over a half hour to deliver my first beer - and that was before most people showed up.

Good service and nice selection of beers. The food was totally ok . I have tried the fish and chips. It was a Saturday night and a live music was running there. They didn’t charge us one of our drinks because they made a mistake on of the bills.

Okay food that's a bit over priced. I don't write reviews unless I've been somewhere a few times. I don't think it's fair because everyone has bad days but this beer market is consistently a very long wait while not busy with terrible service. More than once I have gone to only see the bus boy deliver all the food and have the waitress come only at the end to collect the tip if at all. Such a shame.

Wow. Just left. Amazing meal from beginning to end. My wife had the calimari and muscles. Delicious and cooked to perfection. I had the pretzels and the pork schnitzel. Where do I even begin with this schnitzel... Their homemade stout gravy that it comes with, it's just insane. I will literally order this everytime I visit. Stop reading this review and pull up a chair.

Great Atmosphere and a very efficient staff. They were understaffed but managed so well. Each and every portion of the meal was mouth watering. Be it the Pizza, appetizers, cocktails or desserts..it was perfected and delicious. Must visit place...date or a bunch of friends ...suitable for all. Thank you J. I have been to J. Red and Co multiple times and the menu never ceases to surprise me. Jay is always changing things up with a new add on or reinventing the way they present a dish. One of my favourites is the Atlantic Salmon and its like a new experience every time I taste it. The prices are a little high for some restaurants/bars, my only thing to say about this that it is worth the money. Everything is made in-house, its fresh and if you have a food sensitivity or allergy the staff know their menu and can tell you or you can call ahead and have them make you one special.

I’ve been to J.Red’s many times since 2016, I’ve always had an absolutely fantastic experience. The food is always amazing and they have an incredible core menu as well as a revolving menu from different countries. The servers are attentive, friendly and always in good spirits, the atmosphere and overall decor is very well done, they do buck a shuck’ oysters on Tuesday’s and also have jazz nights! They’ve done a great job in becoming the go to place for a night out, a family night, dinner with friends/a loved one or just a spot to grab a drink after work with a great selection of beers on tap. J. Reds is hands down Brampton’s best place to eat! I will continue to be a loyal customer and recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a truly top notch dining experience.

Louisa was a great server! Our first time here and she explained our menu options with recommendations and a great sense of humour added in. Appetizers and mains were delicious and filling. Desert topped it off for a great experience. Definitely in the rotation of night out options and with the kids next time.

Have driven past this restaurant every day since it was opened and last Sunday finally decided to try it out. My review could be only this--we were back again on Sunday. Great staff; cool atmosphere and really good food. At first we were concerned that the menu was too large but everything we have had has been really good and fairly priced. On Thursday night we had $6 east coast appetizers--crab cakes; fried oysters and grilled shrimp. All top notch and really good portion sizes. Dinner for 2 without alcohol is $50-60.

One of the better spots in Brampton. Went during a Saturday night with a couple friends. Had to stay at the bar for a bit because of how busy it was. Got some drinks and got to our table in 30 minutes. Definitely reserve a table in advance. Food took a very long time to come out, almost a hour but it was so good we couldn't complain. Prices aren't outrageous especially for the quality you get and a good selection of food offerings.

This location has been many different restaurants over the years, and I think this is my fav. Was there on the weekend for a birthday celebration with friends, and was surprised by (and loved) the live music! Food was quite tasty, and the staff were fun and friendly. Won't hesitate to visit again.

Amazing homestyle food, portions are large, and the coleslaw is real and fresh not caked with mayo. Nothing but good things to say about this place. My absolute go to for Caribbean cuisine. How anyone can rate this under 5 stars because it doesn't have a ton of vegan options or extra seating because they are so popular is beyond me. Maybe find a new place to eat if you cant appreciate this establishment and the quality of food they provide. Annie does you right everytime!

Lack of food with “Large” Ox tail order. But tasted phenomenal. Literally like 6 pieces that barely had any meat on it. The coleslaw lacked flavour , literally just tasted of cabbage, not the greatest... the beef patty was good . Overall stretching the 4th star! But still recommend taste of the oxtail, super delicious

Nice new restaurant. Good food. $32 for a good but small (7oz) sirloin steak with mushrooms, baked patato and seasonal vegetables. Good food but only OK value. A little more background noise than I like when eating a nicer meal.

I went here for a lunch with coworkers.the place is really nice and has things like cloth napkins to make it more fancy (by my standards). The food is tasty too, and there are lots of unique menu items along with classics. The only thing I didn't like was that it was fairly expensive. I got a salad and water and my bill was close to $30.

Atmosphere in the bar was a little loud, but expected. The servers were very friendly & attentive. I always like coming to Moxie's, but I ordered the Chicken Tenders and will probably not order them again. They were definitely cooked from frozen, as they were so hard and barely had any meat in them. They were mostly batter.. I ordered a broccoli cheese soup & that was much better. If I come back, I'll order something else as I know they do have better food options.

What can I say? It's a great spot if the company is paying. $92 for a 2 person lunch consisting of sparkling water, cauliflower app, 1 salad, 1 rice dish with chicken and 2 coffees? I mean it was all good, but you are paying for the atmosphere and not the food. I'm not complaining since I expensed it, however if it was my money I would be.

The food has always been great. Service is fairly good as well we have had some hit or miss issues but for the most part they are on point. Entrees to choose from are awesome from burgers all the way to steak.

If you love wine and great loud atmosphere it is a place for you. Having said that the menu is very trivial and lacks flavour. If you enjoy beer it is not the right place for you. Staff is 'luxury friendly' so if you are there for a business lunch it is great, if you are in there for a family dinner - you picked the wrong spot. All in all food is well cooked buy blend in terms of spices. It is great for romantic dates but make sure your date drinks wine :)

Popular with the work crowd as it's in the heart of the financial district. The service is good considering how busy they are. There is a gluten free menu available as well. Overall the food is okay, standard fare. They do take reservations which is a good idea if you are headed here for lunch.

I love moxies, their food is amazing here. They managed to satisfy my taste buds in all aspects. The customer service here is amazing, during the meal they asked me if I was enjoying the dish. This extra touch of service made my day. My girlfriend called in before hand saying it was my birthday to add a special message. This just made everything so much better! Went for lunch last week with office friends. Serving lady was very rude and had a huge attitude. Did not come to take food order for good 25 minutes and was throwing cutlery on our table to show her displeasure about something. Guess was in a bad mood. Ordered guacamole and chips. It was good. Ramen bowl of one of my friend also looked amazing. Won't be back for bad attitude.

Nice location for a pre game meal. Massive rack of ribs that were succulent . Oven baked potatoes that were fresh and perfectly roasted and seasoned to perfection. Excellent prompt service in the dining room or lounge. Coffee comes in a real mug and not a shot glass like most restaurant cups. Very enjoyable meal .

Went to Moxie's for lunch today with my daughter for my birthday and its been a long time since I've been here. The menu has a variety of foods to choose from which is great! I ordered a loaded burger and it was amazing! I haven't had a good tasting burger in a very long time. Our waitress went by the name of Christine. Very attentive, very sweet and very helpful. When we told her that I was celebrating a birthday she told me about their complimentary desserts and brought it right as I finished my burger! Perfect timing! 5 stars to the restaurant and 5 stars to Christine's service!!!! Will defintely be back to try out different items on the menu.

Visited Moxie's for the first time and will return. Split 3 appetizers with some friends and found them uniquely inspired and delicious. Service was attentive with a great attitude. Definitely worth the stop. Didn't get the chance to investigate too closely but seemed to have a decent craft beer selection if that's your jam.

Best attitude restaurant ever been too. Waiter Fuschia and manager Sam especially the Chef Shane really tried hard to accommodate our vegan diet into their menu. They custom changed one of their dishes, cooking it specifically for us! This dedication to customers care I found only in high scale restaurants and even there rarely...! Bravo!!!

Been to this location several times as I have never had any issues or complaints with the service or food. However on this last visit we were not impressed. We had an issue with one of the meals we had ordered and had sent it back as it was not upto par with what we had experienced in the past. The manager Christina came to our table to address the issue. I have never met such a manager with poor management skills and customer service skills. She was not helpful or courteous at all; she was incredibly rude and unprofessional. My family and I eat out regularly and have never experienced a manager with such awful skills to satisfy the customers. I gave one star for our server Ara because she was amazing! However, Christina definitely needs to be retrained on her management and customer service skills. Will not return to this location.

This is the place to go and have great food and atmosphere. If you have any food allergies, the staff and mgr are just incredible. They accommodated me with food I could eat. My waiter even gave me hot water and lemon for my stomach. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone for sure. Fantastic

I love the food here. Its delicious and the spicy selections are very tasty with the right amount of heat. They do take out! The portions are enough for two people. Its great for a quick take out dinner.

We used to often order delivery. They do have large portion sizes, but I find their dishes got too sweet & can be too oily/greasy. We usually ordered Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice, Green Mango Salad, Red or Green Curry with either Chicken or Beef. Have also tried Cashew Chicken, Basil Beef, Pad Thai and a few others. Food is generally good/average. Poor Customer Service: They *refuse* to honor any of the coupons on the menu stapled to the delivery bag. (Eg. Spend minimum of $XX.XX and get a free Pad Thai) when calling restaurant directly to order for delivery. Was told it's up to each individual location to honor coupon or not, and their location does not. Very disappointed, especially being a long time frequent customer. We were placing a very large order for a group dinner. Now we order elsewhere.

Food is good but customer service is very bad. I ordered pineapple fried chicken and cashew nuts chicken. I paid extra for cashews but did not get it. Asked for hot sauce they wanted us to pay extra for that. 2 visits ago they gave me tofu rice instead of chicken, when I called to ask why they hung up the phone on us 2x.

Went in for a lunch special, was charged full price, even more than what was on the menu. They charge for everything here, even a bowl of plain rice so you can eat your meal. They seem to try to rip off their customers any chance they get. No value here not worth the price!
