If you have recently suffered a bad zero-fault accident and are in a vulnerable place you may want to avoid these folks. I originally went to see Jackie Horton on the recommendation of a friend who happens to live in the same neighborhood where she lives. I wanted advice on how to get representational 7 power of attorney for my beloved "wasband" (ex husband who is now my best friend!) who now suffers from dementia. While I had initiated contact with her, she insisted that my husband's son from first marriage who has the financial power of attorney, come along. She never discussed her price and I still have no idea what my wasband was charged for the consultation. I felt absolutely zero loyalty from her since I had initiated contact and retained her, and she immediately changed camp to my wasband's son from first marriage. I do not feel confident in her services at all. I wish I had never contacted her at all. I asked on behalf of my wasband who has dementia, to give him a copy of the financial power of attorney which his son holds. She refused to do that. She decided to take his will without any consultation with any of us, probably to retain services. None of this was discussed. I found this to be very unprofessional. I definitely would not recommend this lawyer, especially in complicated cases of power of attorney, and representational power of attorney, called Rep7 agreements.

We regrettably had Jackie Horton as our lawyer in dealing with the purchase of our first home. She never responded to us in a timely manner even with time sensitive documents. We had to constantly contact her which was a mission in itself as we would have to leave many messages with her assistant. She almost never followed up on emails & rarely called us back, so we often had to go to her directly to get things done (mind you we lived on a gulf island & her office is in Victoria during this, so ended up being costly to get things sorted out each time from ferry & gas costs) We felt uncomfortable when meeting with her as she could not explain all the charges/payments correctly to us & we felt pressured to pay what she had calculated even though we knew her math was incorrect but everything was time sensitive & she said if we overpaid we would be given the money back via cheque. The money we paid (for her to do her job) & for her help was an absolute joke - as WE had to seek out all viable information & she could not retrieve any important information that was documented & needed for our case, WE practically did her job for her. The last straw was when Jackie tried to make us pay her a fee of nearly $800 which she could not explain what it was for or what it was even called or why all of a sudden this new fee had transpired & needed to be paid to her...this made us feel weirded out by how unproffessional things had gotten. We had to get our real estate agent involved with this & do some research to understand why she was demanding this 'unknown' fee that she could not explain...this was the only time she made an effort to actually contact us was to pay this $800. After over a week of us not actually paying her this additional $800 she finally gave up & said that the $800 fee had been a mistake. We DID overpay her (which we knew) & decided instead of her mailing us the cheque we would go to her office to pick it up to avoid further ordeals of any sort. In the end the friend that recommended her to us was so embaressed & was very, VERY apologetic - definately would not reccomend Jackie to anyone!

I came to Mrs. Jacqueline Horton with my ribs broken, eyes bloody, and fresh out of an abusive relationship. She said she could have my case wrapped up quickly as I had all my tax forums, bank statements and all my evidence in order. She never told me her hourly rate, and never had me sign any contract. She was next to impossible to get a hold of and rarely heard from. she dragged the case on for two years. After trying to get a hold of her for two months with no response, I finally decided to fire her and go to another lawyer. When I gave her secretary that message, Mrs. Horton called me RIGHT BACK like I was the most important person in the world at that moment. Needless to say she was fired, I hired a new lawyer who got a settlement 2 months after hiring her. The new lawyer charged me 250$, Mrs. Horton charged me 2200$ AND DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

What a SCAM OPERATION here. I spent approximately 10 years waiting for a legal service and spent over $10,000 CAD and they" tossed me overboard at the last minute". Furthermore the condescending secretary /receptionist Miss Sara sent my documents overseas to me the cheapest possible way she could have sent them, so as a result I never received my documents/files. I do not recommend this law firm to anyone. Stay clear of this place, Oh yes of coarse this accurate review is written "Without Prejudice"

I am regretful I feel the need to review Mr Pearson in a negative way, as he has been a long time lawyer and friend of my family. However, I used his service to help me with a charge I was accused and aquitted from. I instructed him to make sure I was was not guilty and he did a great job in court, as usual. When court was over and I paid the invoice I was informed by a police officer that this crime was still showing guilty on my record (a serious offense). When MTP Law was made aware they said I'd have to pay more money for them to get the charge dropped of my court files. I ask what is the point of paying a lawyer when your inncocent if he let's the charges stay on your court files and cause life long problems. I feel he knew well ahead this would happen and has since done nothing to help. I have recently hired another firm to fix their mistakes. I would recommend getting agreements in writing clear as day before hiring this firm. I have had serious issues regarding this matter and have had enough wondering why he did this. I feel this should be heard by everyone thinking of hiring MTP Law. I hope he rectifies the situation and I will be able to recommend him as the best as I have done for years.

We were driving southbound on Wallace drive when this idiot came around a curve in the road at such a high rate of speed that his whole truck went sideways. My boyfriend did his best to avoid being smashed into but there was little he could do to avoid the impact. We both hired Lambert Law and received great service.
