I see an ophthalmologist regularly, and a few months ago (at my request) he gave me a new prescription for contact lenses (which I've worn for 40 years). I took this to Oak Bay Optometry and had them fill it for me. Turns out, it was way too strong. I've just got back from a fitting with the charming and highly professional Mark Paquette. What a completely stress-free, comfortable experience! He explained what he was doing every step of the way, and was quick but careful. They're making a straight exchange with the year's supply I'd already bought, which is a great relief. I won't bother looking anywhere else for contacts in future. And yes, with a rebate, they were cheaper than Clearly.ca! And the staff did a wonderful job of keeping Roger-the-Dodger (wire haired fox terrier) happy while I was in the exam room. What more could I ask?! Highly recommended.

Had a great experience today at Oak Bay Optometry. I had a problem with my left. My regular optometrist said everything was fine, but I was not convinced. I was driving by Oak Bay Optometry on a Saturday and decided to stop in. All of the staff were very friendly and wanting to help. Dr. Hua made time for me and ended up spending over an hour to figure it out. Dr. Hua will be my regular doctor going forward. Thank you Dr Hua and everyone at Oak Bay Optometry!

I highly recommend the Oak Bay Optometry clinic. From start to finish all staff were charming, helpful and knowledgeable. The surroundings are nice, appointments were on time and excellent suggestions were made to me. I wasn’t happy with my glasses due to the photo grey additive and they are replacing them with no charge and a smile. What a great place! I have also encouraged my husband and brother to go to the clinic and they were both extremely happy as well. My brother has autism so it was important to me that he be treated well. He said they Very Nice to him.

This optometrist is my last stop regarding my search for a good eye exam/glasses/ contacts. They are prompt, polite and professional. I feel I'm in a good hands where my eyes are concerned as it's tidy and clean. As a person in a motorized wheelchair it is a little small as far as space is concerned but as they are prompt I don't need to worry about it too much. Although I hope that they work on getting a automatic door or a lighter door. Again though, the staff is prompt and quick to come around and openthe door for me or anyone else that has difficulties with the door or anything else. I find the location pretty convenient as I don't drive but it's pretty centrally located and of course there are so many yummy treats to be had in that same building if you happen to get there too early or have a few to spare after your appointment.

Dr. Narang is a great OD. She makes you feel comfortable and welcome, and takes the time to explain any changes or issues your eyes may be experiencing. The floor staff are generally pleasant but the product/sales people can be somewhat rude and dismissive if they know you do/plan to buy glasses online. Sorry for wanting to save hundreds of dollars. Overall my experiences here are good and Anita is truly professional.

Friendly staff, great promotions, and a very nice looking location! Dr. Anita is super friendly, knowledgeable, and great to talk to... She's very funny too! And I like doctors that make me laugh... UPDATE: Hate to do this - but I'm changing my 5 starts to 2 . Not to be reflected on Dr. Anita -she's still amazing.... But... it's been two months since my initial appointment, and I'm still waiting for lenses. I'm really glad my vision is not terrible, and that I can live without glasses, but it's really disappointing. The lenses came in on time, and they rejected them due to quality control - when they didn't call me back, I called and they told me that I had cancelled the request because I didn't want them anymore... (already paid... YEAH RIGHT!!!!). And now, apparently the lenses are in, and it's always "one more business day, and we'll call you...." UGH!!!! The last few days are the worst... it just feels like they don't care - but they are REALLY NICE ABOUT IT!!! SECOND UPDATE: Another downgrade down to one star... I can't believe how much these people have LIED to me! And there is absolutely no need for it... Insignificant lies, really... or maybe they have a serious internal communication issue...

Terrible experience, received this morning there was a tall man wearing dark jeans and plaid shirt who appeared to be an owner or manager who was mistreating the staff extremely rude and ordering them to do things very bad business behaviour. Intimidating the staff and treating them like slaves. He was doing this infront of customers and talking really loud beside the room I was in for my tests. Thinks he is above everyone and can talk to people that way. If this is Dr Narangs husband I feel so sorry for her as this man has no concept of respect. If he involved in the business he should not be in the front lines at all and should remain behind the scenes cause he is very bad for her business and I feel very sorry for the staff that has to be treated this way. Please know you have rights as employees exercise them if you need to. Due to individuals such as this individual this is why unions are dwindling and corporations such as theses are flourishing while employees such as theses are too scared to speak out due to fear of loosing there jobs. My eye exam was the most thorough ever, and the staff ,who helped me choose glasses, were very helpful and patient. I was lucky to get my progressives in July so got the second lens free. I was able to get one pair of interesting, trendier glasses and one, my usual , quite conservative for a very reasonable price. Their guarantee is great too. They replaced a lens on my last glasses, even though the scratch was my fault.

My husband and I both received exceptional service at this location. I went in with a style in mind and left with exactly what I wanted. The staff are excellent at providing honest advice on fashion and how your glasses will fit with your lifestyle (yay to no more sliding down my face at the gym). The measurements taken were accurate for my face and my frames fit perfectly right out of the box. The on site optometrist allows for convenience and one stop shopping. I honestly, as a glasses wearer since 7 years old , recommend Iris to anyone looking for both high quality, fashion, and competitive pricing.

This place was an absolute let down. having taken the day off work for my appointment knowing that my eyes would be dilated and therefore I would be unable to return to my office job, I was rushed through, the staff was unable to answer any of my questions several of them being basic ones about optics and the way light works on your eye. I felt these questions were very simple and should have been easy for anybody with even a basic education in optics to answer. Meanwhile the head optometrist sat with his arms folded leaning up against the front counter having an intimate and personal chat with an old colleague the entire time I was there. He did not even make eye contact with me or smile. The service I receive at iris normally fantastic but this location is not what I have come to expect of their standard. And to add to the disinterest I felt. Addendum: the glasses arrived in a timely manner and I was pleased with how they looked and felt. The staff since apologized for my experience and went above and beyond to make up for it.

Had a wonderful experience at this IRIS location! Detailed review to follow: I previously went to see Dr. Netty Sutjaho in Mayfair Mall. The location closed in the mall, and she moved to the downtown location. I was given cards in the mail notifying me of this and some coupons to use. I decided to book an eye exam, since I haven’t done one for about 2 years. The staff at this location are extremely helpful and friendly. Plus, they like to get to know you as well! It was a very personalized experience. I decided it was time to get prescription sunglasses. Nicole showed me a few styles, and we ended up picking the first choice that she recommended! She has a good eye for knowing what may suit your face shape, style, etc. Nicole did the best she could to get me the best deal, I was so happy! It was a fun experience shopping with her. When I got the prescription sunglasses, I noticed there was a blemish in the corner of the lense when I would put it on and looked in the mirror. It was only noticeable to my eye, the lenses were polarized. I wore it for a few days as I wasn’t sure if I should bother getting it fixed if it wasn’t visible to anyone else but myself. Sure enough, I went for a follow up eye appointment (dilation, contact lense fitting). First thing that Dr. Netty and Nicole did, was they took my prescription sunglasses and checked it for the blemish. They put the sunglasses in every angle to try to view what I was talking about. They ended up putting the sunglasses on the side up against the monitor and it was visible! They sent it back to Nikon for a replacement. They do everything to make their customers happy and they have a great warranty on their products. After this, I wanted to upgrade my eyeglasses to another pair as I was constantly viewing screens and the blue light filter would be beneficial for me. I work in an office and also on devices a lot (phone, tv, laptop for studying, etc). I got a call from IRIS saying my sunglasses were ready. When I got in, Nicole surprised me and said both my sunglasses and eyeglasses were ready. I brought my sister with me, and Nicole worked her magic by adjusting my sisters sunglasses as they were falling down her face. They fit much better now! Overall, I would highly recommend this place! The entire staff is amazing and personable. They answered all questions that I had throughly. For the previous reviewers that had poor experiences, I’d suggest that you make it the experience you want it to be. If you’re not sure of something, ask! They are happy to explain things to you, and give you no pressure to buy anything. I couldn’t say enough good things. Go check them out!

Absolutely worst experience! Waited for 2 hours past appointment time to see Dr. Narang. Staff were completely unhelpful. We were not the only ones who had been waiting for a very long time and we soon realized that this is the norm for this office. We witnessed 3 other patients get up and leave and another one had been sitting waiting to be told he was free to go after waiting for over an hour post dilation! Absolutely unacceptable! To top it off the prescription Dr. Narang gave my daughter has turned out to be so wrong that now we need to get another examination, pay another exam fee and order another set of lenses. This office is a disaster and I strongly recommend avoiding at all costs as it will end up costing you more time and money. There are many other Optometrists in town that will be happy to help you and be respectful of your time.

I was in the market for a new pair of glasses and started checking reviews online. Image Optometry came up as having 23 5-star reviews and they were located in the newly renovated Mayfair Mall. Yes, FREE *parking too!! My experience from start to finish was positive. Great selection of frames at a reasonable price, easy eye exam with the latest in technology and everyone was very helpful and professional. *Super-easy parking: under the new section of the mall (at the most southern-west corner) where you'll find a convenient elevator to get to the main floor. You'll pop out right next to Indigo. Image Optometry is then straight ahead on the left-hand side just 4 storefronts away! This makes for a for a very quick in/out trip to this otherwise confusing shopping mall.

I could not believe that my queries regarding my missing vision in my right eye and the 50% reduction in cost was just outstanding and unique. All the other glasses places I went to basically just listed the stuff they said I "needed" and gave me the total cost as fast as they could. Image on the other hand took the time to explain all the different choices of lenses applicable to my prescription, and broke down the cost on a handy chart on their tablet. I have gone back about 3 times to have the glasses adjusted, and they have always been friendly and accommodating. One of the best overall purchasing experiences I have ever had, and it is hard to list off another place off the top of my head where I have experienced better customer service.

Total price was $300 less than my Optometrist (Oak Bay Optical) for the same frames and lenses. Wide selection of frames to choose from. The team in the Douglas St. store are excellent. Wow. I have been struggling with my concussion symptoms for nearly a year. After some test, Dr McCroden built a pair of prism glasses for me to try on. He asked me to read, something I love to do and have been struggling to do for far too long. I read the first sentence of the paragraph and I'm not afraid to admit, that I started crying. I can read again. It was so overwhelming in a good way. I can't be shy, because I looked over and the doc was teary eyed too. I tried the sobriety test for balance and I started crying again. Life is within my grasp and I'm ready to hold tight. The staff were such a pleasure to meet and everyone was so nice. The place is bigger on the inside, and very nice. Where to start? Dr. McCrodan and the entire staff of the NeuroVisual Opto-mization Performance team are very professional, friendly and encouraging! My very first assessments with Dr. McCrodan left me with the confidence that he would be on my team and do everything he could to help me move forward as I set off on my unexpected health journey. It was determined that my vision issues provided a somewhat unique challenge. Thankfully this wasn’t a deterrence. Dr. McCrodan’s specialized knowledge, optimism and determination to help gave me confidence that together, with his team, we would work through a process to train my eyes and brain to work together again.
