Delicious chicken thighs, pulled pork & brisket! Slow food takes time & patience. Didn't know the process starts early in the morning on site while we sleep. Rustic atmosphere. I could do without the twangy music but I guess it adds to the southern flavour.

Best authentic Texas BBQ this side of the border. You can eat the brisket with a spoon it's so effin tender. Get some pit beans (even these have complex layers of flavor), slaw and brisket and put it on a brioche bun. Flavors that can literally compete with any fancy fine dining restaurant in Victoria.

Great value, decent menu. Their beer is surprisingly good. If you are interested in the smoked chicken thigh, go before 7:30pm. Tights seem to be a little bit dry by this time. My friend raves about the brisket. However, they were sold out when I arrive. Overall, if you are a meat lover, check this place out.

Driven by many times and was curious ~ online rave reviews sealed the deal ~ took my 15yr old son and we both were blown away! Was quick, the staff were very patient and helpful... and the smell when you walk in the door is amazing! Son had the pulled pork poutine and I had a PP sandwich and beans... Every bite evoked moans of joy that were driving my son crazy lol, but was in agreement ~ looking forward to returning with the rest of the family and turning friends and family onto Jones Bar~B~Que! Fans for Sure!

Got BBQ bun, curry chicken bun, deep fried BBQ bun, milk cream bun all of which were delicious but could use more filling for 2$ a piece .Also pretty annoying that they charge .25 a for a box for your baked goods they also charge .25 for using debit and a dollar for credit cards.

Nice little Chinese bakery. It's a long way from the best ones that I've visited, but they sell decent pork buns and the price is right (about $1.95 per baked item). Worth a quick stop for a snack if you're in the neighbourhood, walking by.

Really basic, no frills boxed take out lunches - chicken, duck or pork with sauce on steamed white rice, in clamshell styrofoam containers. By-the-numbers boxed lunch menu is painted on the wall, every possible permutation combination of various types of chicken and/or duck and/or pork. Large portions. I liked it enough to go back again while staying just around the corner on vacation, but it's probably not most people's idea of barbeque. Sauce is thin textured and not very sweet. There are small, smooth edged, mechanically sliced bones in the pork. And sharp edged, splintered bones in the chicken and duck, from it being whammed into chunks with a meat cleaver. The sort of really basic meal you might expect from a street market stall, rather than a walk-in store like this one. Bakery section is small, so bakery products can largely sell out before closing time, not necessarily much of a selection left if you get there too late in the day.

Maybe the coolest restaurant I've ever been in. Along with a solid rock track heavy on Pearl Jam, the food is... I dont even know how to describe it... decadent, creole, and surprising. Delicious! And the staff are still friendly even with the hip vibe.

I thought my reservation was at Husk and realized that it was actually at Hank’s. What a fabulous find! We walked a few blocks and found it on the corner. Dinner was fantastic! Excellent appetizers, fried, broiled or cooked seafood dishes. Service was spot on! One comment is there were few wines by the glass or choice of size portions. We will be back. Great experience.

Didn't live up to expectations, many of our friends have had killer meals here and we will be trying again in a few weeks when the menu changes. The steak was beautifully cooked but let down by the potato side which seemed to be missing any seasoning. When combined with the spiced sauce it helped the overall flavour but more care should be given to the sides to complement the main. Wife had a burger, meat again was perfect but a lack of flavour left us feeling like it was a meal easily duplicated at home on the grill. overall it's a great place to try often and very different from the typical restaurant offerings in Victoria. call ahead because seating is minimal and fills very quickly.

I took my lady there based on reviews alone for a date night that she requested. The reviews said less than 18 seats in the whole place, but the food is awesome. Well, it's exactly like they say; AWESOME. The chef/waiter warned me that the skillet was stupid hot, and after 4 weeks, the crazy 1" burn by my wrist is still sore and itchy, lol, but I'd go back in a heartbeat. Might need to take her back soon for another date night? Hmmm...

I had a friend take me there and we ordered from the top of the menu down to about midway where we began to fill up. Learned after that second half and top change regularly which excites me ever more to do it again. Happy to have been able to meet everyone there, the team at Hanks will literally make your day. Really friendly and professional staff! All of them can cook which is pretty cool. My partner and I had the Korean Bbq combo for 2. It was our first time there. The food is honestly amazing, I'd say even better than Japanese Village! Its comparable because they cook the food in front of you. Less tricks and entertainment, but it's a bit less expensive and much tastier! We loved this place, and will definitely be back again.

You can usually tell how good an ethnic restaurant is by how many native foodies eat there. Sura is no exception. However, in Sura's case it is very positively upheld, as on any given night half or more of a consistently full restaurant are Korean nationals. Excellent food, reasonable prices, a large menu and fairly quick turnaround all combine to one of my favourite places to eat. I would especially recommend the hot pots for groups of two or more, put together right at your table! I have been coming here about 9 years, and the quality has never dipped. Great food with a Korean flair!

One of my favourite restaurants in Victoria. I love the bulgogi soup and seafood pancake. When we come in a group, we do the BBQ combos and they help you grill at the table so you don't have to do it yourself.

We arrived for lunch around noon & entered. Full house so stood upfront waiting to be approached by servers. Apparently while orders were flying out of kitchen & brought over to diners table we waited & waited. After 5 mins. no one approached definitely ignoring us. Those behind us shook their head in disbelief. We finally interpreted their nonchalant business attitude & got the message so decided to visit another joint. Even those behind us followed suit. Sura your arrogance shame on you. We swore never ever to return As a matter of fact Sura doesn't even deserve 1 star! Like Korean cuisine? Try King Sejong, 650 Yates St.. You won't be ignored.

Food is tasty but service is pretty slow. We sat down for 10 mins having servers walk by and look at us with closed menus but no interest in asking if we were ready to order. Getting a refill on water has been difficult as that was put in with our order but have yet to receive this after 15 mins. No one has checked on us since placing our order. It is busy, as per usual, but this shouldn't result in lack of attention to customers.

I was curious about Dak as from the outside it looks like the building with shared office space. I noticed someone come out of the building with a great smelling sandwich in their hand. Instead of interrupting someone who really should eat that sandwich instead of answering a question by me, I popped my head in and asked what the customer ordered. It was the avocado sandwich, so I ordered it because I would have craved it all day if I didn’t. When I got the sandwich, which was relatively cheap for downtown, I took in the smell and devoured the whole thing in what seemed like a minute. I was extremely satisfied. No complaints from this guy.

Ordered the brisket sandwich. Not sure the guy who made it has ever seen a proper smoked brisket. But the words “chewy” and “cubed” should never be applied to this type of meat. Nevertheless I was served a disgusting sandwich full of chewy beef cubes. Not tender, juicy strips that melt on your tongue. Even Jone’s was better than this.

Located next to the eagle tours stand on the wharf, we were immediately drawn to this place based on the name...after trying it, we's come here once a week if we lived in town! Effectively a floating food truck, this spot is seriously killing it! Four of us shared the fried chicken sandwich, the avocado sandwich, some BOSS poutine and a bratwurst. The chicken was magic with some awesome slaw and pickled onions up top! The avocado was excellent and the brat was solid. The poutine was legendary! Rosemary garlic fries with heavenly cheese curds over top with a heavy drizzle of brown gravy - they were as good as we've had! Limited seating is available under a few umbrellas, but people move through quickly. Everything came to roughly $20 per couple and for the quality, we have probably paid 50% more. It was as good as anything we ate over an entire weekend. Service was quick and the beverages selection solid, though we didn't enjoy a beer or pop. All in all, this is where you should eat if you're in Victoria!

Yum - congee and spicy tofu & noodles. Service is hit-or-miss. The younger servers give impression they don't want to be there and are not very customer-oriented. The more senior staff are helpful, remember your past orders and who you are. Still, it's where the locals go for great food, big portions, very reasonable prices. I recommend Wah Lai Yuen located to the right of the "Gates of Harmonious Interest' when you enter Chinatown from Government Street - look for the barbecued ducks hanging in the window!

I'm not sure I want to attract too much attention to this because they may just raise the price if it gets too popular... their poutine is ridiculously cheap and the portions are very generous. My wife and best friend both have food allergies, but their rotisserie chicken had no sauces or spicing and it happens to be fantastic. The bonus for me is that it has that classic family restaurant feel that hits all the nostalgia buttons. One of my favorite places to meet up with friends for coffee.

This restaurant was my favourite place to go but not only customer services but also food quality are horrible recently. My sweet spicy chicken looked terrible and also uncooked. I politely told them that it is uncooked and chefs were staring at us for a long time and didn't admit that their food was terrible! Visited this restaurant twice more because of the positive first experience and no sushi chef both times! Pure disappointment. Talked to staff about this but they were curt and unhelpful. Can't believe that servers almost ABANDONED us over an hour. After we waited for 40minutes, we asked them whether the table sets or not. They said "not yet" so we waited another 20minutes. And they weren't even said sorry to us so we we're super upset. They said they are so "busy" so they can't able to "handle us" that they can't gave us seats. Also they let other 6~8 customers in who came in the store after us, but still we only can do is to wait. If I visit Vancouver again, i will never visit there. Whether food is good or not doesn't matter.

Probably one of the best Earls I've been to. We stopped in for an early dinner when we were walking around the area. The food we ordered was excellently prepared and everything was delicious. The only downside was the service. Though very friendly, it was a little slow even though they weren't very busy. Getting our water & drinks refilled should be pretty much automatic. We shouldn't have to flag the waiter down to ask. That being said, the next time I"m in Victoria again, I would definitely go back

You can never go wrong here. Fantastic service...amazing food. Nicest people. Go there for happy hour it's the best deal in town. $3.50 sleeves $5.50 pints ...amazing Leroy ribs. Love this place !!!

Matt King was our bartender tonight! He was very personable and professional. His prompt friendly service was such a great experience. My girlfriend and I will return like we always do. Our networking group hosted a happy hour at Earl's last night, and the Earl's team really hit it out of the park! The servers and floor manager were attentive, engaged, and knowledgeable about the menu. Our server made great suggestions, and the food we ordered was perfect for sharing (and very delicious!). The happy hour drink pricing was on point - I can't think of a better deal in Victoria. 10/10 would recommend for professional groups and pals alike!

Great for corporate events: Attended a social networking session in the events room. Attentive and discrete service, delicious food, great choice of beverages and the delicious appies were offered by the house. Cannot recommend enough!

Good atmosphere, very good service, tasty dishes, good amount of TVs as well near the bar area which is a good set up in my opinion. Great deals depending on the day and time of day. Always have a bit more upbeat music, if you want to liven up a bit✌️ The only con for me is the fact that the restroom close to the bar is downstairs but there is a couple more towards the back of the restaurant!

Best Sangria ever! I had the Rosé. Red house wine is also excellent. Great tomato soup and we loved the prawn appetizer. A very successful happy hour for us and the place is packed. First rate service. We’ll definitely be back soon!!

Pretty average place. Had a dinner in the private room, however, still felt a bit exposed to the main sort of the restaurant. The place was loud. Too loud in fact and made feel like I had to yell in order to speak with the person beside me. As for the food, it was decent and tasty. The meat was very good and the Plant based options we're very tasty. A bit more expensive (it is down town so I'm not shocked). Overall had a good dinner and left full and satisfied.

I have reservation at 6pm. However, there is no table for us when we arrived. The waitress told me that I need to wait 30mins, I told her I have reservation. Funny things is that the waitress really don’t know manage time and we have to leave due to their poor time management. Reservation is nothing for this restaurant

Restaurant was very cold, no heat on to speak of. The service was pleasant and quick but the food was mediocre. The restaurant smelled of cigarette smoke faintly upon entering and after the food was served it got worse and worse. It seemed as though some one was smoking in doors in the back of the restaurant.

We sat here, with no water for 40mins waiting for food. They do take outs first and the service was really bad. After about an hour we only got one dish and the dish was not so delicious. If you are hungry or in a rush, even if you want normal service, highly not recommend. Just don’t come if you don’t want your whole day to be ruined.

The place is so Canadian... all the nice lumber theme and friendly staff. Love to show it off to my American friend visitors! The food is tasty and delicious... plenty of parking space and I love the extra points one gets on the movie card! Wonderful must visit!

I agree that it beautiful and rustic and my waitress was very helpful. Unfortunately you won't find any salads on the menu. Order a Coors and enjoy. Warning to denture wearers, you may find the steak is difficult to chew.

Went with a couple friends for the all you can eat ribs. They seem to have reduced the number of bones you get - 6 to start, then on the next round, two of us got 4 bones and one got 3. Time between rounds was not speedy. Ribs were delicious, tender and hot, so we enjoyed them. On the plus side, they seem to have more staff in the floor to handle dinner time, so that was a bonus - no waiting in a line for a table when there are empty tables on the floor and not enough staff to serve them.

The kids love Montana's and I love Montana's. Great wait staff, good food, and having large sheets of paper as a tablecloth gives the kids a huge area to draw on. The one major downside, is how long it takes between being seated until you receive your food. A 20 minute wait is normal, 30 minutes is pushing it, but 40 to 45 minutes just isn't acceptable while you try to keep multiple hungry children engaged. This undermines the idea of Montana's this being a family friendly restaurant. I wouldn't mention the waiting if this was just a one off experience, but this is how it's been the last couple of times we've been there.

Food was good and the price was right. After a small mistake on our order our waitress corrected the error and we received an addition order for free. Service was quick and the staff were very polite and helpful with the menu.

We’ve always had amazing experiences here! It’s always our go to spot, Danni is a great server!! She’s always so happy and pleasant to be around, although one of our servers today (blonde, with glasses, flat hair, was working in the bar) was so rude, she assumed I finished ordering before I had, stared at my ID oddly as if I didn’t look like who I am, and then through a bucket on the table and said you can put your bones in there as she was walking away (I would understand more so if it was busy but it was dead). Lastly, once our food arrived she didn’t even do a quality check, as a past server I was unimpressed as that is something you should ALWAYS do.
