So it begins, I have an addiction :( now what? ask myself is it time for me to surrender and accept. The concept is radical and the stigma that surrounds people such as me, is at times very negative. This is all very foreign and frightening at times. The departure to recovery begins. It’s not an impossible task! It’s all made very comforting and forgiving at this beautiful little slice of paradise I’ve become very fond of called Sunshine Coast Health Centre or as most clients and alumni call it (SCHC) This is recovery training at its finest caliber. It’s cognitive approch is an amazing and highly effective approch to nip addiction once and for all. All staff seem to take that moment to ask if one’s having a good day. I can’t help but give them a big smile and reply yes. I’d have to start my thank you’s with client services. For their twenty four hr alumni support phone line. If it wasn’t for the angels who monitor this line. I may not have had the courage to get here! Also for all the other great things they have to offer. I won’t give them all away you’ll have to do some research for yourself :) Next in line is the intake and the most lovely and warming rn’s you’ll ever come across. These fine people stabilized me and had me comfortable day and night in there brand new and very very stress free detox centre. That leads me to house keeping. (SCHC) is one pristine evrioment very well kept. Rumor has it there is a member on the night staff that makes the most amazing double chocolate cookies if you ask nicely...;) you all know who you are. Thank you :) yard maintence thank you for keeping that pool warm and ready for the nightly volley ball match as well the wood pile stocked. A lot of laughs and tears shared around those fires. If a client is lucky you might even get a glimpse of the elusive man in the paint covered slacks. who is this guy?!? Lol... Ok down to business. The straight goods the counselers and doctors. This is where the real magic happens. I’m not sure how they aquire them but man professionalism of the finest and highest quality. this is not and understatement. Words can not express my gratitude. So it’s the end of the day my mentle cup is full time for some fine dinning great food and excellent kitchen staff....one can even go abit further. How is this possible you find yourself asking. Well with a trip to the ozone bubble followed up by laser treatment or you may just want to visit the on site RMT all very great and respectful People. I look forward to becoming an true alumni and sponging up there after care program. Because my time is done. doesn’t mean they stop there. Thank you to the creator of this facility. it takes truly special people to devote there time and care into a concept of addiction treatment such as this. To many and more.... Thank You Jeffrey B.

A safe place to go.

this place is a godsend to anyone that is marginalized by society for an addiction , and who after a day of self medicating, the staff get them into thier pj's , give em a snack , wash thier cothes, and give u a nice soft bed, compared to the ground. the only complaint is thqat gthere is about 100 too many beds needed. but for rfeal , the staff would make a 5 star hotel look like aa dump with scum for staff

Certain clients who might not want or need in-patient treatment or simply can not go away for an extended period of time would benefit from Jackie’s full-spectrum program in Victoria. Jackie and her team is both qualified and experienced and I wholeheartedly recommend her program. Thinking about one particular client I sent to her program recently — his life has changed so significantly, in a positive way, I’m so thankful I referred them to Armour Addiction Services.

I have now been a client of this medical practice for almost 17 years now I have seen it switch owners and addresses alike and I have to give it too the new owner/Operator and drug counsellor has really gone above and beyond when it comes too politeness as well a professionalism let's put it this way about a year ago I was mistakenly put on the non payment list so my disability put a stop on my monthly methadone fee of $47.50 now this continued on for 13 months without myself or the clinic wß8ß8sszßz the mishap, probably because I've always kept my account up to date, at least up until this point,it ended up that I was in arrears for almost ²w500.00 but Angela was a total sweetheart, and sheßesq8888ßs9999⅔ let me take the next year to pay her clinic in full.Finally I would like too mention the oww

Hard Core 35 year smoker and I quit thanks to Laser Center! This last July I decided to try and quit smoking. I didn’t really want to, I loved smoking. But I had a big scare by losing a co worker to cancer at the young age of 32, as well as the increasing cost and all the problems and difficulties associated with being a smoker made me want to give it a go. I went cold turkey but by day 4 my nerves were completely shot and I needed help. This is where the Laser Centre came in. My husband found them and did some research to see if he thought this would help me. He urged me to try it. It couldn’t hurt trying it right? I showed up the the Laser Center, nerves completely frayed, suffering from nicotine withdrawal brutally.,Sheila quickly brought me in, we had a conversation about why I was trying to quit and why I came to her. I think this was for her to assess how serious I was about quitting and how she could help me. Over the next three weeks I had laser therapy. No, it doesn’t take away the nicotine withdrawal, unfortunately nothing can magically do that. But when my nerves were frayed and I was feeling weak, the Laser therapy helped me feel physically better, calmed my frayed nerves and I was back in control to continue the fight. I fought and I won! I am now nearly 7 months smoke free and loving it. It’s changed my life. And with my new found money, I recently treated myself to a helicopter tour in Hawaii of several beautiful valleys with amazing waterfalls everywhere. It was amazing. I couldn’t afford that before as a smoker😉. Sheila was great, she was very supportive and I knew she really wanted me to succeed. If you want to quit smoking, this will help you. Good luck, it’s worth it!

The staff at Cedar's are some of the most compassionate and empathetic people I have ever worked with during my addiction/ mental health journey. I was unable to complete my full stay due to external personal reasons; however the facilities and curriculum were excellent. The campus is located in the middle of a pristine forest & the food is amazing (with a fully-stocked salad bar). They genuinely care & I would send a loved one there in the future. Cedars changed my life. I did not meet one employee at Cedars who rubbed me the wrong way. Incredibly genuine & caring people who will go the extra mile to ensure (in the short time you are there) that you receive the support you need...IF you are open to changing your life. Having been a return patient, I realized the second go-around that the work lies with me and that after treatment it is my responsibility to put these tools to work. Addiction is not a choice, but it is my choice to do my best to live life with the tools I have acquired from knowledgeable and highly trained professionals that have and currently work there. Cedars was an amazing place to get me started on my journey to freedom from addiction. I attended Cedars in 2015 and have been clean ever since, due in large part to Cedars and the continued support they offer. The detox process was relatively painless (as far as detox’s go aha..). They offer a custom plan for treatment and recovery based on individual needs, so you aren’t getting lumped in and treated the same as everyone else. The grounds are beautiful and all the staff truly have your best interest at heart. The support they offer doesn’t stop when you leave the facility. Cedars offers an after care program to help make sure you’re getting continued support in the difficult times that inevitably happen fresh out of treatment to ensure continued recovery is possible. They also did their best to get you involved in the recovery community, and introduce you to fellow Cedars Alumni to make continued recovery easier and attainable and most importantly possible.

Simply put, Cedars saved my life! From the time I was in contact with admissions, to my departure it was top quality. Staff is helpful, knowledgable and they really care. I felt heard, and my program was individualized to my needs. Highly recommend for anyone struggling with addiction.

This place attracts people with attractive promises and customer services but really couldn't care less about patients’ wellbeing and how effective the treatment is once they have your money. They promise services they’re not qualified for. They also charge you for after treatment services whether you use it or not. From my daughter’s point of view Cedars staff were very nice and welcoming but are not equipped or trained for eating disorders treatment. They treat ED as an addiction and apply the program as a one-size fits all. That’s why it didn’t work with my daughter. What a waste of money! After 48 days in rehab she came back with the same condition, nothing has changed. She continued struggling with this horrible disease. Eating disorders are serious medical illness marked by severe disturbances to a person’s eating behaviors. Treatment plans for eating disorders requires monitoring, psychotherapy, medical care and, nutritional counseling, medications, or a combination of these approaches. My daughter didn’t receive any of these specific treatments. She only received once a week general counselling and daily group counselling. I paid $22,220.00 for 48 days ($462.91/day) to get a proper help. Part of this payment was to cover 6 months continue treatment after leaving Cedars facility. The therapist that Cedars sent my daughter to charges $200/hour for once/week visit that should be covered by Cedars. My daughter visited the therapist one time only and never again; because she was already disappointed and lost hope in the whole program. Cedars paid the therapist for this one visit. I strongly believe that we should get reimbursed for the remaining therapy time that has never been used (4 visits/month X 6 months less one visit). When I asked for reimbursement, they promised that they're working on it, but they are actually not planning to reimburse any money. 6 months passed and never heard from them. They ignored all my emails and phone calls. Cedars refused to reimburse the portion I paid for that was allocated for continue treatment. They chose to keep this portion to themselves. What a sneaky way to rip people off. Ignoring your clients is not in your best interest and could easily ruin your reputation. You don’t know who you are dealing with.
