I have been seeing Dr McManus for several years. He aids in talk therepy where you can discuss your life. His humour is what I enjoy at every session. In the begining I had frequent visits and eventually over time I now see him once a month. Dr. McManus makes you feel important and never that I'm wasting his time. I definitely recommend him.

My son has seen dr.lavinsky for 10 years or more now. I find the doctor himself not to bad but you feel very rushed when in his office and end up waiting 1.5 houra to see him sometimes. The absolute worst part and i mean worst part of this clinic is his secretary lori. She is unbelievably rude and has no people or phone skills. For the position she has she seems to think she is some sort of doctor whith how she thjnks she can speak to people. I have never been happier that my son is finished with this clinic and having to hear her ignorance every 6 weeks.

I don't agree with the other comments about this doctor. He helped my son. He is a nice man and he is provides effective medication which may be needed for treatment.

He's a pediatric Psychiatrist. He seemed to be a good Dr. at first but tended to push medications as answers to problems. He wasn't very receptive to our suggestions or other Dr's opinions and would actually get upset if we brought anything up as if we were second guessing him. He also didn't listen to our child's concerns. We were with him for about 10 years but were told it would take 1-2 years to get in to see another Psychiatrist in Edmonton so we felt no choice but to stay. He was working at the Neurodevelopmental Clinic at the Grey Nuns Hospital and when it closed we were finally able to get a referral to another Psychiatrist which was fast tracked. The new Psychiatrist felt the medications that were prescribed were actually causing our child's mental health issues and now our child doesn't take anything and is doing very well. Even the diagnosis that was given is being questioned by the new Dr. These issues were brought up in the past but Dr. Levinsky said if our child stopped the medications, after 2 months our child could no longer be his patient. Over all, I would not recommend this Dr. and if you do take your child to him I would recommend asking your GP for a referal to another Psychiatrist so that you can at least get on a list to get a 2nd opinion.

Mental health support is so poor here in Edmonton. I had an appointment with Dr. Jennifer Benz and she accepted me as her patient. We had a plan for treatment then all of a sudden before the next scheduled appointment she sends me a letter rejecting me. I have difficulty trusting people as it is and then Dr. Benz does this to me. I feel very confused and hurt. I had a break down in the past. She didn’t give me a chance to explain what even happened. So in my opinion she doesn’t care enough to want to know the whole story. And now I have no place to go to that is assessable for me. And I have no one to monitor my medication. I thought everyone has the right to health care. Thank you Dr. Benz for not believing in me and for not giving me a chance. And thanks for judging me.

Do not seek help from these people. A lot of their nurses and security staff actually cause a lot of harm on their own. By being obtuse, abusive, negligent and cruel. I nearly choked on my own toungue when I was forcibly injected with a drug that I am allergic to. When I began having distressing symtoms of a severe allergic reaction there response was to lock me in a room and not check my vitals for over 4 hours. Even though my toungue was swelling to the point where I couldn’t speak and it was making it hard for me to breath. After being out cold for two days due to that injection I was obviously unable to sleep properly so I requested very calmly to be able to sit in the common area as I have a back injury and laying down when I don’t need to causes pain. So for that I was strapped to a board for 8 agonizing hours especially since the restraints on one arm had tension. This cause a long term shoulder injury as well as a case of ptsd. The same day I was released. The staff their are twisted I dividuals that enjoy causing harm bottom line.

They violate patient's rights. They just make the patient talk to two doctors without telling the patient they been screened, both doctors declare the patient insane and they can do whatever they want with that patient.

In building 10 of this mental hospital Dr. White + Dr. Archer +Nursing staff Sylvia + Shabiu and Elizabeth violated my canadian charter of rights, freedom and my rights to refuse treatment and medication (Starson vs Swayze year 2003). They threatened me many ways and tried to comply with their illegal demands. One way they violated my rights is by bringing in a letter from a parent (guardian (Heidie...)) that I have no knowledge of and by using that letter against me. The nurses and nursing support staff acted unstable and irradic and threatened me many ways to keep my mouth shut and sign incomplete forms. Since working staff were not trained properly or trained with a criminal intent, they need to be disciplined by terminating their employment and by setting examples to treat fellow humans humanely. Need federal level help. Lawyers with case winning potential are welcomed.

It was the start of 30 treatments of ECT, and now, in a free-standing clinic downtown called Pulse TMS, their website PulseTMS.ca explains the treatment, which you don’t have to be put out for. A doc from Alberta Hospital, Dr. Murray runs it and is so wonderful to talk to!!

I love dr yakimovich. Been seeing him for about 2 years. He does talk a lot about his life and uses referrances anyways. However he also suggests books and different types of therapy. He’s not a pill pusher he will help find the rights meds for you. :) anyway all the best in finishing a good psychiatrist but dr yakymovych is awesome sauce!

My mother enjoyed this visit with him, she thought he was down to earth and made her feel comfortable. The only downside was the waiting time. We had an appointment for 11:30 but we got in an hour later. There must be a method to his madness because we realized perhaps he knew the other patients where he did not know my mother therefor he needed more time with her. So he put them through first so we could have an more time with my mother. Hes a lovely man but he should change his appontment scheduling around so people dont have to wait an enernity.

I showed up 20 mins early to get my paperwork done. The office was unkempt and as I watched the time roll down to my appointment time I also watched the waiting room fill up. 1 hour later and I still wasnt called for my appointment but people coming in after me were being called in. When I asked the receptionist if I was actually scheduled for the time I thought I was she laughed and said they were over booked! I waited 2 hours! To be rushed out! Id recommend finding someone else. Id recommend that you ask you GP for anyone other than him! Good Luck!
