A must visit for any NHL fan. This is a fantastic place for a photo opportunity. I have brought every friend and family member from out of town to see this piece of art. Make some time and really appreciate this. See if you can find your favourite team (if they have won the Stanley Cup) and see the names that are engraved. There should be more attractions like this around the city.

I believe this is on the only example of Chicago style architecture left in Edmonton. Be sure to visit Woodwork on the main floor for great eats and cocktails, and Workhall for ladies' clothes and jewelry.

Was at this venue for a wedding. The style of the house was very charming. It gave the wedding an aura of class. Staff were great and accommodating. The only issue if you use this venue is that the washroom situation isn't ideal. There is one public washroom and it's small.

Growing up in Edmonton, I've always wanted to see inside this mansion. It's only taken 40+ years but, finally got my chance. About once a year, they will open up the doors for one day for all to come and see. Trust me, the wait was totally worth it. $10 will get you in and don't forget to bring your camera, it's absolutely spectacular. I, 100% totally recommend this trip, if you're in the Edmonton area. It is a sight to see. This mansion was built in 1912 and looks over the Saskatchewan river and downtown in the distance. Located on Ada Boulevard, in the Highlands district. The drive through this community is as almost as spectacular as the mansion. Must see!!!!!

Love this theatre! Complete opposite side of the city from me but landmark is completely worth the drive. They show way better movies and ticket prices are about half that of the typical theatre selection in Edmonton. The seats fully recline and are huge. I like that you choose your seats online when you buy your tickets so you don't have to rush for a good seat prior to show time. Would highly recommend!

This is a really nice new theatre with reclining seats. it is a really comfortable atmosphere to enjoy a movie in, especially if you bring a blanket. The theater is a bit smaller then some of the larger ones so we usually get our tickets ahead of time. One thing to take note of is if you buy your tickets at the theatre, you purchase them in the concession line, another reason to use their Atom app to buy tickets ahead of time.

Happy to have a theatre in St Albert. Especially one next to a couple of dinner options. The seats are amazing, so comfortable! Great picture and sound, only problem is that sometimes in quiet moments of our movie we could hear rumbling from neighbouring theatres. Drinks machines are great fun for the kids to operate - bonus.

Landmark Cinemas is a very clean and very comfortable location to view any brand new and in theaters films you would like to watch. It has a very clean and warm interior and the staff is friendly and eager to help you quickly. There is wheelchair access and the seats in the theater rooms are marked clearly and recline. The food and soft drinks are very pricy but not higher than any other cinema you would go to. Overall I would say if you have a little extra money you're willing to pay for a movie experience I would definitely recommend Landmark Cinemas.

Better way to watch a movie in the leather recliner seats compared to other theatres, and you’re still paying the same price. Also, for any movies you’re able to reserve seats when you purchase online! So you’re guaranteed to get the seat you want without having too worry!

Really enjoy coming here. The prices are reasonable and the theatres are great. The seating is the star of the show. Really isn't a bad seat in the house. I do have one gripe and it's the concession line which is also the line you buy your tickets if you don't use the kiosks. It gets really busy before showtimes so if you have purchased tickets that come with a concession deal, you'll have to wait in line, and it can take a really long time. Plan accordingly.

Love the “book your seats in advance” theatre! It’s far more enjoyable to come for movie nights when your seats are secured. LOVE that with large drinks and popcorn, refills are free! The seats in the theatre are wonderful! Fits my 6’3” hubby great. Plenty of space for people to pass by you in the isle, even with the seats reclined all the way back! I’ve actually seen ppl come in with PJ’s and a blanket to see a movie. Not my kinda thing but it speaks to how relaxing the theatre experience is. If your looking for a movie night that is actually comfortable, clean to be in and you are not feeling ripped-off for the price of pop & popcorn (larges), this is the place to go!

The theatre has a lot going for it, first it’s super economical the cost of an outing is likely half what you might pay elsewhere popcorn included. The seats are leather recliners and the screens are huge although the sound just doesn’t seem as rich to me. The real reason for the lower rating of s just how frigid the theatre is when the temperature drops. You honestly need to bring a blanket to stay comfortable in any way. As great as it is to save some money doing so in a refrigerator is not my idea of a good time.

I have seen many movies this theatre over the years and it has always been a consistently good experience. Even on opening weekends, there is always fast and efficient service from the staff. The theatres themselves are always very clean. The seats are comfortable, the popcorn is fresh and the washrooms are always sparkling clean. If you're in the area and have some time to kill, this theatre is a great place to spend an afternoon!

The theatre is a shadow of what it use to be. When it was Empire Theatres there was more arcade games, and ticket game you could play and get prizes... Well they don't even use 1/3 of the space for games now. The theatre also feels old. It's a stone throw away from being a cheep dollar theatre.

Yo this place is a banger. No huge lineups, you're downtown so you can go get a beer after or food or whatever. Great student deal. I mean if you want a no BS movie watching experience go here.

Because of the downtown location, this is the theatre of my choice most of the time. It's easy to get there as it is located in a mall. However, the facilities are slightly underwhelming about 50 percent of the time (esp. bathrooms). Also, the inside of the auditoriums is very cold, usually - unpleasant during the winter. Staff is friendly and welcoming, and there are great deals for downtimes (some afternoons and weekdays).

Underutilized space for sure. Never busy so you have can get a good seat. Great spot in downtown to catch a movie, parking is 5$ after 5 PM although I wish it would be earlier during weekends to promote their afternoon showings.

Excellent example of a architectural style called a flat iron building. Built in 1913 the design took advantage of the pie shaped lot. It was fully restored in 1994 and now houses the Women’s Emergency Accommodation Centre, WEAC run by The Edmonton City Centre Church Corporation. Really great looking building.

DESCRIPTION OF HISTORIC PLACE: The Gibson Block Building, also known as the Flatiron Building, is a large wedge-shaped four-storey brick building constructed for commercial use on four city lots at the eastern edge of Edmonton's pre-World War One commercial core. HERITAGE VALUE: The Gibson Block Building is valued as a rare example of a commercial building following the 1902 prototype of a flatiron building, so named for its distinctive triangular shape. The building design, with Chicago style influences, balances the vertical emphasis of pilasters and windows with the horizontal presentation of the continuous glass shop fronts and first storey and fourth storey cornices. Developed by William Gibson, the Gibson Block Building characterizes the historic wave of prosperity and opportunity at the height of the commercial boom in pre-World War One Edmonton. Originally built to provide first floor retail space and offices on the remaining floors, the building's use has evolved with Edmonton's changing economic fortunes and has included office, retail and for a significant part of the historic period, the well-known Turkish Baths, which closed in 1978. The Gibson Block Building's triangular form and prominent location on Jasper Avenue contribute to its valued local landmark status. CHARACTER-DEFINING ELEMENTS: Key character-defining elements of the Gibson Block Building include: - Massing and form of the building, in particular the triangular shape; - Chicago style influences such as the brick pilasters, the continuous glass shop front at street level and the entablatures and cornices on the first level and at top of the building; - Design elements such as the decorative square motif in brick and concrete, the restored amethyst prism glass, the cornice medallions, the stairwell windows on the north facade, including the fourth storey brick semicircular arch; - The curved windows at the toe of the wedged shaped building; - The south facade semicircular wooden archway main entrance with keystone design, including the doors and globe lights; - Recessed storefront entrances and ceramic tiles on the south facade; - The window openings, one over one, with cast stone sills.
