I contacted Overhead Door on a Sunday afternoon when the spring on our garage door broke. 45 minutes after my initial call to dispatch with no call from a technician, I called back. Dispatch told me that they were calling every 10 minutes but no one was answering the call. I ended up having to call The Door Surgeon who responded within 5 minutes. I emailed Overhead Door to let them know what happened and received no response. Based on my experience and lack of response, I would not recommend them.

my own fault for not doing my homework but charged $585 for double spring replacement. subsequent investigation says that this should have been in the $300+ range. So do better than me and get some quotes to ensure you are not overpaying. that said .. I have no complaints about the work done. Pleasant fellow who did a good job and I would happily recommend them for quality of work. And, of course .. I might be wrong about how much I think it should cost .. so there is that.

I requested a quote for replacing the door springs, then got home to find out that the work was done and that they got my wife to pay them $600. I called them back and the installer apologized three times, and told me he was only getting paid $24/hr, and I thought he was sincere. However, when I called back a little later to ask him another question he started shouting and complaining about me calling him too often, and ranting about the quality of his company. I couldn't understand why he was getting so agitated, because I had told him I was happy with the work and only wanted to know how long it had taken him. He told me that the work had taken him 5 minutes. When I mentioned the labor charge of $230, he said that it actually took him 1 hr, and that it was a standard rate. Later, when I told my wife about this, she was surprised because he had told her that the parts were $500 and labor was $100.

We have dealt with many contractors before and have never been treated this poorly before in terms of customer service from the owner/sales manager. When ordering new doors with installation services, we were required to put about 30% down which was understandable to buy the product and book the service. They were delayed by about 2-3 weeks in getting them installed, yet we were still patient and understanding. Once the work was completed, Mark - the owner, was insistent that we pay him immediately, within the hour of being installed and before we even had an opportunity to ensure that the doors were working properly. I’m not sure what type of business he is running; however in my experience it is totally inappropriate to hound someone that quickly… I could understand if we hadn’t paid our bill in a couple of weeks, but a couple of minutes is ridiculous. We were quite shocked as there was no indication of payment terms being mentioned nor a final invoice given yet. Once we had an opportunity to get home and to look at our doors we discovered that they were installed wrong. When we had indicated that we wanted them fixed properly he became very aggressive and confrontational to the point that I felt uncomfortable being home alone when he came out to check on them. He was still insistent that we paid before he sent his technician out as he claimed it was covered under the one year warranty, which we felt was unfair considering the initial install was not even done correctly. The technician who did finally come out said they were not done correctly the first time. The technician seemed reasonable and did fix them; we paid our bill in full as we just wanted to be done with it. Our biggest regret is that we did not demand an apology from the owner who threatened to remove the doors and treated us horribly. His service was unprofessional and we will never recommend him ever which is unfortunate as word of mouth is a huge asset to the small, local shop.

I just had Jackson and James replace a broken spring on my garage door. I was really impressed with Larry's work. The garage door is pretty old so we looked at the tooth joint near where the garage door opener attaches to the door (it was starting to give a bit). While fixing the spring, Larry reinforced the joint with a piece of metal. He also replaced another part that wasn't right from the original installation - all for no charge. Overall, I'm really impressed with the quality of the workmanship and the integrity of their people.

Creative installed our door in 2002. They did a great hob and it has worked fine all these years. On Sunday, the spring broke on the door. I called Creative on Monday morning, and as I was not in a rush, they booked me in on Tuesday morning. Rick, the repairman, showed up on time, and did a great job fixing the door. He was courteous, thorough, explained everything, and did not leave any mess.
