Oh My GOLDFISH!! PELICAN PIER does fish right!!!!! The halibut was crisp, light and amazingly tasty. The clam chowder was chocked full of seafood which I chose instead a heaping mound of fries. For dessert the Key Lime Pie was the perfect mix of sweet and tart to finish of this amazing lunch. I am definitely coming back to sample more of taste.if the sea!! Thumbs up!!!

Just for the Halibut of it all! Went to the Pelican Pier and it was busy but awesome as always! I had the 2 piece Haddock with fries. My appetizer was a bowl of fish chowder. The chowder was good but it could have used more fish/clams in it. A bit thin for a $15 cost. Haddock was $18. Delicious and a nice thin batter that doesn't burden the fish taste. The fries are superb, not mushy. My wife had the Halibut, it is always the top of the food chain delicious! Pure white meat and oh so good but it has gone up a lot in cost, now $32 when I recall it at $18! Oh my. If you are wanting fresh seafood, you gotta go to the Pelican for the Halibut of it all!

Great little seafood restaurant. Nice selection of fish on the menu and they have great selection of frozen fish for take out. The atmosphere is that of a cozy fish and chips style. If you prefer to cook your own, some of the prepared frozen fish is worth investigating as our experience has been very tasty and satisfying.

This restaurant was quite busy when we got there, so when we were sat there were dirty tables surrounding us throughout 90% of our visit. We ordered 2 appetizers the deep fried oysters and popcorn shrimp. I enjoyed the oysters but the shrimp wasn’t great. We ordered halibut fish and chips to share as our main dish. I enjoyed this, there was a lot of fish and not a ton of breading. The server tried her best during this busy time, she was alone. I found the prices normal - approx $12 for appys and you always pay more for Halibut (it’s worth it in my opinion) I think the main was about $30 ish

Land Locked No More. Walk into Pelican Pier and be whisked away to a little fish and chips joint on the coast. Everything tastes fresh which is no easy feat considering the nearest halibut swims 12 hours away. If you love seafood and think you have to drive to the coast stop here first! Now if only they had a beach...

This place has a really cute atmosphere. It’s decorated like you’re at a pier and there’s lots to look at. The service is very friendly and pretty fast. They also sell seafood for you to take home market style. The food is okay, pretty good for Calgary but nothing compared to coastal seafood restaurants. A bit on the pricey side as well.

I love Joey's Only. This location is nothing short of amazing. My waitress was excellent. She exceeded my expectations immensely. It felt like she had a sixth sense and could read my mind when I needed more fried fish (I went on an all you can eat Tuesday). The restaurant was also clean and other staff interactions were positive. I would definitely come to this location again.

Service was very nice and food was great. Very easy to enjoy. Maybe somewhere to hang coats we missed? One piece of fish and chips is nice for a quick lunch. Moved all day so did wear it off! Quiet location miss craft stores that used to be there but find Micheals and the Scrapyard ok. Heartfelt Creations and a great store for 4-H stickers used to be there. Service and food are excellent. :)

Very friendly staff. Good service. Food is good but lobster mac and cheese needs lobster. Mine had none. Sometimes that happens, so I'll be back and give it another chance. [UPDATE] Went back again, brought some friends and family and we were all very disappointed. Appetizer portions were beyond skimpy. We ordered several servings of the overpriced lobster mac and cheese which now comes in a barely half filled tiny bowl with NO LOBSTER at all and maybe 2-3 tiny bits of shrimp that would not even add up to 1 whole shrimp. Joey's should drop the price on this to free, instead they sell it at a ridiculous price. This used to be good with lobster in every bite, now it's a complete disappointment. Fish bites were overcooked and we feel they were actually re-fried. Breaded fish is way over breaded and the actual fish portion inside is smaller than ever. Staff is still pleasant. The restaurant was empty except for us but our waitress did not check in on us after the food was served. Very disappointing. Joey's is expanding which makes us wonder if they are paying for their new locations by dropping quantity and quality.

We came here for lunch and was seated immediately. It's a very comfortable, stylish, and casual place. Our service was quick and polite, and of course, the food was excellent. The crab cakes were amazing- my lunch date kept craving it even after we left. I ordered seafood enchiladas (shrimp and crab) and he got the fish tacos. Both of our dishes tasted great. The fish in the tacos weren't overcooked or chewy, it was just right. My enchiladas were hot with creamy savoury filling. We will definitely be coming back in the future to try more.

Amazing food and ambiance. When it's 3 days before the weekend and you need a reservation give this place a look. The food is amazing and the service is top notch. Prices are also great and I would say value for dollar is above average. The menu is mostly seafood with a "dock side" sea food style. 4 of us went for a last minute birthday party and not a bad meal was had. Truly a hidden gem in Calgary's busy mainstream restaurant industry.

I really enjoyed my brunch (Saturday, April 6th) at Big Fish. You can tell they put an emphasis on fresh, high quality ingredients and attention to detail. Homemade ketchup, jam and sauces make all the difference. Service was a bit underwhelming but the food was outstanding. I will for sure be back.

Atmosphere: Cozy fireplace very rustic western decor. Service: efficient, helpful Portions: Generous Quality: Superb. I had the mussels to start. Perfect seasoning and the broth was so flavourful it could have been a stand alone soup. My main course of pecan encrusted arctic char with polenta was plated beautifully and everything from the kale to the golden beets were a delicious match for the char. Price: expensive but worth the visit if you want a dinner that is distinctive and special. Mains cost between 25 and 35. Starters between 16 -18. Rate: would definitely recommend

Big fish is now our new Monday evening date night. We love oysters. Unfortunately it's difficult to find really tasty oysters in Calgary (landlocked as we are). Big Fish has the best oysters I've tasted in Calgary this far! AND! They're buy one get one free on mondays!!! Cant beat that. Big Fish, thank you. You guys are amazing.

Awesome food, fantastic service, no wait time! Perfect place to celebrate a special occasion with family and friends. Erika, our server was absolutely amazing, fun and friendly! The manager, Chris, was very attentive to the customers and also has a wonderful relationship with all his team members. It was nice to see all the team members interacting with the manager, sneaking in some fun and laughs in-between customers. I'll definitely return to this location

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday, our waiter (Chris) was excellent, food was amazing as always, and relatively well priced. The atmosphere was a bit dark but definitely nice. Since my partner and I are teenagers, we expected we might deal with staff treating us with less value, but this was not the case at all. All staff was respectful, kind and fast. Wonderful restaurant, will visit again as soon as I have the opportunity.

Service was great, the Lobster dip was awesome! Enjoyed by the whole family. The Admiral's Feast was greasy but tasty. I had to get dessert to go. All in all a satisfying experience, though I wouldn't recommend that combination of dishes together. Hubby's Lobster feast was fit for a king and my child's Mac and Cheese was excellent

Have been coming here for 20 years, and it's one of the rare businesses which I'm thankful that hasn't changed much. The higher price points are justified by quality sea items which are difficult to find in Calgary. Staff here deal well with all ages and group sizes. Always a good experience, mostly great though. Their waiting lounge bar option is nice to have during peak hours.

Absolutely fantastic. Meal sizes are incredible, always enough to take home. Prices are higher than most restaurants but you are definitely paying for better quality food. Fantastic for dates or if you are going out of town with the boys and want to make the most of your meal. Highly recommend!

Love eating there with the family. There’s always a bit of a waiting period on specials holidays and public occasions. Food is amazing, drinks are also tasty. Kids menu isn’t bad either. Best spots are the booths by the windows. The rest of the place is rather dim.

I came in with a few buddies for All You Can Eat Shrimp and it was wonderful. The food was great, the empty dishes were removed right away, and I never saw the bottom of my pop. Steven is a world class server. He is incredibly professional, has a great sense of humour, and takes care of his guests. Ask for him when you visit and you will not be disappointed.

The food was honestly awful. Got the shrimp and lobster grilled cheese. It was more of a shrimp salad sandwich. The upgraded mac portion was so paltry you could finish it in a bite. Again, made with processed cheese. The beverage I had was flat. Only good thing from the whole experience was my kind server. Just awful.

Fish was great. Staff was helpful. But feel they should remove the parking space by the sidewalk it's dangerous I almost fell. Wrecked my coat zipper getting out of the car and stepping down onto the sidewalk. Had to get the driver to back out to pick me up. After the meal. Parking is a hassle. Accident waiting to happen. Just that one parking spot nearest to the door.

Well worth the experience. Good flavour and reasonable pricing for a land locked province that serves seafood. The Cajun shrimp is amazing and felt like a lot more than 1lb. If I had to suggest something, it would be to offer cornbread. Service was good. Beware, can get very busy here.

It was a unique experience, the food was fantastic and the staff were ... very busy, but helpful and friendly under the circumstances. One complaint: we ordered the garlic snow crab. It was great, except the garlic flavoring was way too strong. My wife and I were still tasting garlic in our mouths 12 hours later. It really over powered the taste of the meat. Great experience overall though!

We were really excited to try this place and dropped in the day before Valentine's day. When we arrived later in the evening after 830pm, there were about 4 tables. Another couple was seated after us and they received their drinks before the server came to take our drink order. It took about 30 minutes for the server to take our order from the time we were seated. Our drinks took another 15 minutes to come. I have been to other Captain's Boil locations in Vancouver and had an expectation that the Calgary experience would be similar. Unfortunately we were disappointed in the service time as well as the quality of food. The seafood rice came out and it was orange with no seafood in it. The corn did not look fresh. The seafood was okay. The servers did not come to check on water and we had to flag them down several times before they would refill our drinks. For the two of us, our food bill was just shy of $200. We ordered a little bit of everything on the menu. Overall, the experience was below what I expected from this franchise, but I will likely come back again to see if the experience was a one-off.

Poorly managed location. Been to a few in Toronto and they are much better. What’s the point of having a franchise if you don’t participate in the promotions? Food is good but will set you back $50-60 per person if you want to leave full.

Really like this place and have come here probably 5+ times since it opened. Went again tonight for the first time in a few months and got 1lb of shrimp and mussels with potatoes and corn. I'd say that the quality has decreased a little. There isn't as much sauce in the bags as there used to be and the food doesn't come steaming hot anymore. The first time we went the food was almost too hot to touch when we got it and still steaming by the time we finished eating, but when we got it tonight it was barely even steaming. The corn tonight also wasn't sweet at all, which was a bit of a let down as it's one of my favorite parts. Also the potato was a bit undercooked. Overall though, still good food but just some small things to nitpick about.

My girlfriend and I ordered the snow crab legs with the captain's boil flavour and mild heat. Overall it was okay, loved the flavour but there was a little too much garlic. We also ordered the sizzling plate, which i think was worth it for its price and was very delicious. Service was also good, even the chef decided to come out and deliver the food himself.

The crawfish and clams were pretty delicious here especially since it's hard to find fresh seafood in Calgary. The Cajun sauce is pretty good nice flavours and with fire heat level is not super hot but makes you sweat a bit.

This was one of the first places I ate in the city, and it will likely be one of the last. Always a good sign when the restaurant shares floors pace with a seafood market. Make sure you come in to the store, or pay the extra during delivery for the house tartar sauce. It's worth it, trust me.

The best and freshest seafood around at great prices. My husband, from down East, and I have visited many times over the past 15 years. My only issue is the uncomfortable, outdated chairs which are in dire need of replacement. Virtually no padding left on the seats makes for a terribly uncomfortable experience. There are times I decline dining here especially when I want to have a relaxing meal after a long day at the office. If it wasn't for the chairs, I would not hesitate to rate at 5 stars.

Have only been to a Joey's twice and both time times have been to this location. Pretty clean establishment and food is relatively quick to come out to order. Plenty of choices in the menu, especially when it comes to how your want your shrimp prepared.

This place is a rip off. It used to be amazing. I ordered mini fish tacos and got fish with onions in a stale taco shell. The rest of the food was greasy and was under cooked, they give you a table spoon of coleslaw with your meal. Don’t waste your money.

GO TO THE ONE IN CROWFOOT... AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! This place is a nightmare. I am not racist but the Asians that work this place messed up my bill four times.... There was never anything offered to come back for all the time I spent waiting after my friends left. Even after they corrected the order they undercharged less then a dollar and as I was getting ready to leave came running after me for it.... I am absolutely mind blown. The fish was okay but the portions compared to stay you very at crowfoot where I usually dine are very very small. The chicken strips are hard as a rock and I was being courteous by not asking them to be removed.. this experience ruined a 140$ night... I don't think I would ever spend my hard earned money there again!

Ah, Joey's. Nothing and no one else quite does fish and chips the way you do. So crispy and not overtly greasy or overdone, like so many other places that claim to be the best. Especially if you have a desire to stuff your face silly with all you can eat fish and chips Tuesdays. To make things even better, they now do taco Thursday's as well. Definitely a place for big eaters that enjoy a good fried fish without having to break the bank. I've been here for years and will keep going for many years after.

Ordered dinner for two for take out and a piece of NY cheesecake with one order of coconut shrimp. the fish was good and the shrimp was nice as well. No lemon wedges to enjoy my fish with and only two packs of tartar sauce with four pieces of fish. ( not a lot of sauce in their tartar sauce packs, so with no lemon wedges as well, I was a bit disappointed seeing I had no lemons in my fridge). My piece of NY cheesecake was frozen as hard as a rock and shining with frozen ice crystals when I went to eat it. No whipping cream or any sauce with the frozen piece of cheesecake. Very unhappy for a $60.00 take out order. Maybe a better experience if I ate the restaurant but don't think I will anytime soon.

I regularly visit them from Haskayne School of Business for lunch. In my group of friends, this place is famous for fish and fries. I always order haddock and cod with potato fries. Their food is always hot and fresh. The fish is non-spicy, so it is great for kids too. The average cost is $18/person without drinks and desserts. I hope this information helps the reader.

Ahhhh what can I say. JOEY'S is a staple and so awesome with their special recipe and tar tar. It's honestly my guilty pleasure because it's so darn delicious and high in protein. Crowfoot location is has been here forever and there is a reason for it. Service is excellent, the tables are clean, the staff are friendly and my mouth is watering just writing the review - I will be there tomorrow for sure. Great location and ample free parking.

We ordered takeout from Joeys as we had family staying from out of town. The fries were ok as it was takeout, but we also ordered sides and our calamari were nice, the coconut shrimp was delicious and the deep fried pickles were awesome. But the fish was stellar. We have not ordered or dined at Joeys in awhile and I forgot how delicious their fish was. The best part was my nine year old eating her fish and asking for more. Thank you for doing a great job.

Probably one of the better fish and chips shops in the city. Most bars have the dish on their menus but they fall short of getting it right. Lots of other seafood items on the menu here too. Tried the spicy cod and shrimp tempura like starters and they we're good. They have a good sized kids menu too. Service was really good with friendly staff. Venue is a decent size. At full capacity I can probably hold around 50 people. Food is a little on the pricey side but I would go again

You're going to a seafood chain restaurant in Alberta, so don't have great expectations about what you're going to get. That being said, we had a pretty good visit here. The food was decent and came out really fast. We also had a really great server. Prices are good and they offer daily specials too.

Ordered through skip the dishes. I was impressed with the speed the resturaunt had everything made and on it's way! However when It arrived we were missing half our order! We called the resturaunt and told a waitress we were missing some food. Instead of getting a manager or even saying sorry let me check with the kitchen she screamed into the phone and at the kitchen "did we forget some food from the last skip order!". Not even remotely professional. Then offered me a discount the next time we came in to the resturant. I offered to come in and pick up what was missing and assured she me it would be ready in less than 10 minutes. Once I got there I waited patiently for the waitress to grab the food from the kitchen. I was given an extra side of fries and a chocolate chip cookie for my troubles and the offer of a discount apparently had fallen through. Very disappointed with the service.

We went here on a late Valentine's Day celebration without the kids in tow, and had a good meal and a really good experience. The drinks were excellent and had some interesting non-alcoholic options (peach iced tea? yes, please!), the server was helpful and attentive, and the signature buns were to die for. It's interesting how little has changed here, from the ambience to the menu. For the most part, that's a good thing, though it feels like they could simplify the menu a bit (navigate between the Admiral's Feast and everything else and you'll see what I mean) For the health conscious, calories are listed everywhere, which makes it a bit easier to choose, I find. I had garlic shrimp, steak and Caesar salad, and they were all very good. In all honesty, I haven't had a steak as good as that in a while. I dipped a bun in the garlic shrimp butter. This is an absolute must-do. It should be an option on its own. So good! It's reasonably well maintained here, with a couple of bathroom oddities like missing hooks and hardware. It was a great place for a meal and I think it "recharged" us both.

About a year ago or so Red Lobster overhauled their kitchen and severely upgraded the food quality. I know this as I went there and my go-to Ultimate Feast was different (in a good way). I mentioned to the manager on duty that it was the best we have had over the 15 years we have been coming to Red Lobster, he told us about the upgrades. So worth checking out again if you haven’t been in a while. The Lobster Caesar is a great drink and you get a lobster tail with it.

Craving seafood in Alberta? Check this place out. I thoroughly enjoyed our meal at this particular location. At the Macleod Trial location, service tends to be quite slow. Their cheddar bay biscuits are amazing!! I ordered the Thursday dinner special for two which comes with lobster, garlic shrimp, scallops and Walt's favourite shrimp (fried shrimp), two sides and a chocolate cake for dessert - it was a lot of food. The garlic shrimp was outstanding!

The meal was good, the service was good, the lobster fest, and all you can eat shrimp are realty good promotions. Great for that days with your special some one, or close friend. Sea food here is really good. I just wish they had reservations. We have to drive just about an hour then we could get caught waiting. So we usually try to hit the restaurant early, say by five and the wait is short. Minutes usually.

Amazing steakhouse! I live in New York and there are some good steakhouses and Wellington's rivals them all. They have an open grill so everyone can see their steak getting cooked. Apparently the grill master has been there for 16 or 17 years and grills like a boss! The left side of the restaurant is the lounge. The right side of the restaurant is the dining area that's a little more formal. Each side has their own menus but share the same kitchen. We were free to order from either menu. We loved the food and experience. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Calgary.

Fine Dining... at its finest. Always a wonderful evening if you are into conversation with friends and spreading your meal over a few hours. Not modern and trendy but old school class! Wait staff wears suits... yup, that is fine dining however there is a casual element as well for those who wish. The Menu is great with many options. Nice wine list and cocktails to please most everyone. They did get a new lease so not leaving after 40 years. Glad to hear as our family celebrates all mayor events here with other visits as well. This was 3rd time here and I think I'll seek another place. Great food, service with Erick is great. However, very rushed, hurry up, turn the table over. last time they asked how long we'd be. I drop $300 to $400 for 3 here and it ain't top class dining. We also asked for a quiet corner when I came in as it was my son's BD and they said no, they is where you sit. Sorry, too bad, so sad. Shrimp Toast

I'm not exaggerating when I say that this restaurant is one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. My husband brought me here for a date. Immediately, we were seated and enjoyed impeccable service throughout the night. Despite training two new hires, our server Jay never failed to make himself available. We split the white plate special appetizer of pork belly and scallops, which was phenomenal. My husband had the land and sea white plate special while I had the 1.5lbs lobster. Both were beautifully plated and tasted superb. The scallops were cooked to perfection. The sauces on both the appetizer and my husband's main were sweet and savory, and paired perfectly. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. It is easily one of the best restaurants in the city, seafood or otherwise. We will absolutely return; this is our new date night favorite.

Went there on a Saturday afternoon; not at all busy. It's the only place I can think of that has oysters all the time , and their Saturday special with 6 oysters and a drink for $15-16(?) Is a good deal. If you're looking for non alcoholic drink, the server suggested their iced tea who's secret recipe comes from, " a 2000 year old lady that works in the back". Well, after that pitch, I just had to order and it was delicious and fresh. Oysters came out clean and tastey. There's plenty of different sauces served with it; my favourite is still the " White Boy sauce" (if you find out the back story to that name it's quite hilarious). We also shared the smoked trout and the mussels; our server kindly split the mussels into two different types of sauces and served in separate dishes (we couldn't make up our mind between the tomato and the curry... I still think the tomato is the better one of the two, but that's only because I like my curries with a kick, and they have a milder curry sauce). I could have had double the amount of the smoked trout, it was good. Overall, can't go wrong with Rodney's for seafood.

I lived on the east coast and the fish and chips at Rodney's can compete with the best. Also. The staff are super friendly. There aren't many seats inside so get there early or take your food to go!

The atmosphere is clean and fun. Used to be more fun in the bathroom when the mirror wall between the bathrooms was open but now it’s walled up.

Food was good, service was very good. Prices are on the higher side. I guess that could be expected for seafood. Even then the ratio of price and quality wasn’t quite there. It was priced a bit high but seafood was just not at the exceptional level I would have expected. Worth a try if one wants to try some oysters and seafood.

Great food doesn't make up for poor service. Too many servers coming to the table, one of which dug around in one of our oysters with her fingers because she thought something was in it. Pretty unhygienic and nothing was done about this when mentioned. Was constantly wrong food coming to our table as we had 6 different people serve us. Used to work in the industry for 5 years thought they had a weird set up going on. Food is very good though and large portions, just expected more for the price.

Delightful evening, wonderful restaurant. The decor is lovely. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all, which made it enjoyable.. The oysters were impeccable, with phenomenal pairing sauces - top picks by our waitstaff - however the white wine steamed mussels weren’t very flavourful. Wouldn’t recommend. Second time here and never disappointed by the oysters. Thank you for the creme brûlée I was craving !!!

Very unprofessional instead of listening she put the blame on us. Telling that its unappropriate to call back and complain about my order, all i ask is if they can seperate the meat from the soup for take out nextime?! Paying $18 for a 2xcup of beef and soup? Seriously? She reason out that the market price is getting higher and so your food needs to be cut? When your customers are paying for your price? And you cant give extra styro cup to seperate the meat from the soup? And you have the guts to argue with your customers. Very rude!!! The previous owner is way better than this new owner!

Went there during the weekend for a quick breakfast.. I was craving some Filipino garlic fried rice and sausage. The menu and prices are obviously being updated with crossed out prices with a new handwritten amount ! My total breakfast costs $12 net according to the menu but when I paid, it was like $17 something with an automatic 10% tip. When I inquired, the waitress shrugged and said they had just changed the price ! That is, after I had ordered and eaten without informing me. So I argued that she should have told me upon ordering., ie. that the price on the menu was a wrong one! Otherwise I could have ordered something else instead. She couldn’t say a word, and just stared at me. The breakfast they offered was not even filling - very little rice and a few pieces of dry fried beef ! Not worth it ! So before you order, make sure you ask if that’s the right amount you would be paying for ! They used to offer delicious food with really good service. LeVilla is a very good restaurant with a warm rustic feel. It is high quality food, prepared in an open kitchen. Dishes are well plated and service is excellent. The ambiance is pleasant but noise does travel as there are no soft surfaces to absorb sound. When busy, it can be lively. Otherwise, it is a nice hidden restaurant that makes you forget it is part of a strip mall.

Had a dinner date with my girlfriend at the Levilla in Calgary. The restaurant is warm and welcoming. It has an indoor patio with a fireplace to keep us warm in winter. I like The concept of the place and how it is arranged. The server we was an angel. She made sure everything was at our satisfaction. The food was perfect from the salad to the tender meats. We were not disappointed at all. We even met the chef who was so friendly and handsome 😉. It was my first time there but my girlfriend been to the restaurant before and she was right. The food is amazing. I will go back anytime and would recommend it to anyone. A good place to try with your lover or big group of friends. My experience was great and i can say it was money well spent. Left the place full and satisfied.

My brother and I wanted to try something new to take our parents out for their anniversary. We wanted to try something new and choose Levilla. We were very happy with our choice from the moment we walked in. Many restaurants located in a community shopping village are much simpler. However the owners have made a genuine effort to create a rustic ambiance in the restaurant and all of us loved it. The service was great and the evening was busy which is nice. It gives the whole place an energy. The food was excellent and the presentation of the dishes was even better! Needless to say my parents came away feeling grateful and we have Levilla to thank for that. The ice wine I had for dessert was great. If they have a couple of additional choices on our next visit it would be even better!

Friendly staff providing great service. Price is very fair. They offer to split a big steak into 2 plates with extra side for us, which is a big plus on my book. Make sure you ask for the non open kitchen side if you don't like the smoke tho.

We got the Orange Duck (a little bit tougher than we like), the Steak Neptune (quite tasty, but a little skimpy on the sauce), the Chocolate Coconut Cheesecake, and the Créme Brulée (both were very good).

Best Steak I have had in years! Went here for my partner's birthday, and it was everything we had hoped and more. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The views unique and different. I don't understand ANY of the negative ratings! This was BY FAR the best wait service and food I've ever had! From the gals at the front counter who took our coats, the waiter who thoroughly explained the menu, to the amazingly prepared food! We returned for the 3rd time for our 20th anniversary dinner celebration on Friday. We enjoyed, as always, our dinner and excellent service and atmosphere but unfortunately something went awry. I had ensured our server understood that I needed to avoid everything with garlic so he checked with the kitchen. I had to replace the dressing on the arugula salad with oil and vinegar and that was O.K. I was advised to avoid the roasted vegetables but was told the spinach should be no problem. Everything seemed O.K. until we got home and my body reacted to what only could have been garlic in some form. Whether it was in the spinach or a meat marinade I do not know but unfortunately I suffered for practically 2 days. Not sure if Ruth's Chris changed their steak preparation or whether it was the spinach. Too bad...for me.

One of the best places to get dim sum in the city. Always consistent and service top notch. We've been here over 30 times and it never disappoints. It's always busy on weekends for a reason.

Good dim sum restaurant with good variety on the menu. Service was great, we got our food very quick and the staff was very attentive with everything we requested. Restaurant is clean and atmosphere reflected your traditional Chinese restaurant in Hong Kong. Super busy at lunch time but the wait was not long at all. I would recommend getting there around 11:30am to get a seat during busy days.

Mai Rinzawa

Made a reservation for 6 people for a dinner at 5pm. There was only one big group of maybe 15+ people. No one was there to greet me at the door. When someone came to me and I said my reservation. They seated me at completely different table than where my 2 friends were, whom had arrived earlier. And when all 6 of us were finally all seated. They didn't even come to offer us water or wait on us. Yet the manager was walking around and there were 3 other servers available. One standing by a table of two elderly people and one seating a family and one doing absolutely nothing. Worst service I have ever experienced. 40 mins and no one even came by our table. I would not suggest going here ever. They also don't seem overly friendly with caucassion customers. They were rude to my friends when they first arrived.

Food is OK. Had the hot pot and is all you can eat. The soup base is good. The beef is too fatty but if you like fatty than is ok. Over all for me is going to be once a year.

Good dim sum. Went there with my 88 year old father over Christmas. Like the selection and price is fair. Quality is good too. Just washrooms were not so clean :(

My favourite dim sum in the city because it's easy access, you don't have to wait too long for a table, and the food is delicious. On the weekend the wait can be a little longer but it's never too bad. I am not a Chinese-speaker and it's easy for me to order and understand the menu here. I highly recommend coming here if you have a craving for dim sum.

Went there for Dim Sum on the weekend, long line up because they don‘t accept reservation party under 9, is tough to bring young children or elderly to this restaurant. Service and varities of dim sum is good. You get what you pay for.

Honestly, best sushi restaurant in town. It all starts with comfortable seating, welcoming atmosphere, friendly and knowledge staff, great selection of food to order, and ends with unbelievable quality! The parking lot gets quite busy around 6:30/7 so just park on the streets around. This place is everything and more! Jenny, the owner, does an incredible job in running this place! Highly recommend!

Great izakaya catering to the local Japanese and wider Asian-Canadian community. The food was all great, authentic, and surprisingly affordable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was quick. Overall a better experience than the more upmarket izakaya I have visited in Canada, and it was more affordable. If I am in the area again I will definitely come back.

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Calgary, and thankfully it's right down the street from my house! Definitely the best beef tataki I've ever had in Calgary! Come here almost every weekend.

Had a great experience here. My fiance and I eat plant based and the servers were extremely knowledgeable and was able to explain the menu thoroughly to us. Owners also very receptive to feedback and always bringing in new items. Made the dining experience easy and delicious!

A hidden gem in the city. The restaurant might be easily missed among the busy traffics along 14 ST, but it is definitely one of the best Japanese restaurant in the city. Extremely high quality-to-price ratio and great services. I only regret not trying it out earlier.

By far my favourite sushi restaurant in Calgary!! Servers are super friendly and attentive. They name each piece of sushi when they deliver it. Delicious free appetizer. Beautifully plated and everything is super fresh. Atmosphere is warm and inviting. The portions are great for the $$. Two thumbs WAY up.

Big fan of this place. Sushi slices are big for the nigiri and hand cones are packed full of fish. sashimi salad is excellent while the butter fish sushi special was amazing. Poke is top notch.
