This driving school will do anything to make you pay for more hours of driving lessons. After completing a 15 hour driving lessons plus in-class video lessons, they don’t issue the insurance deduction certificate unless you pay for 2 more hours of lessons. The odd part is I already passed my driving test and have a class 5 license and they still want me to do 2 more hours of lessons and won’t issue the insurance certificate until I do. Total scam!

I took a driving course from New Drivers of Alberta in July 2018. Finished my course in August. There driving instructor was very good. Always on time to pick me up from home and explainded a lot. I also took the class rooms and they were very help full. I sugest every one to take traing from this school .

So very impressed with this driving school! From start to finish with a certificate in hand my son was done in 10 days. He had nothing but good things to say about the driving instructor and didn't even complain about giving up an entire weekend to sit in a classroom. They must have taught him something because Speedy got his license on the first attempt.

Absolutely terrible. The driving instructor was extremely rude, and was consistently giving me attitude. Not to mention the lack of basic English grammar skills. This is not how you treat someone who is just learning to drive. Save your money and go to Derek Brown's (where my brother went). Its about the same price but infinitely better in quality.

I took some brush up courses at New Drivers of Alberta to get some training to pass my road test. There driving instructor was very good and knowledgeable. They helped me lot . After taking 4 hours of training i went for my road test and pass the first time. I recommend New Drivers of Alberta to every one.

I never imagined myself rating someone this bad and I hate being rude, but THIS. I registered for this class last October and now 5 months later I'm finally waiting for my certificate to come out because they kept booking my last session on days I cannot make which I told them about numerous times. They even cancelled a session on short notice and made me wait for another few weeks - they determine the days at their convenience and doesn't give a crap about the service which I paid to receive. On top of that, I finished the first session months ago but they kept calling me and insisted that I didn't take it without even checking the attendance sheets properly, even when I asserted every time that I took it in October. They're so rude too. When they called me about the session I already took, I told them which month I took it and after checking the attendance sheet, the person just said "oh you took it" and hung up without allowing me a second to say anything. There is a reason why AMA is more expensive. It's because they're actually professional and responsible. If I had known I wouldn't have hesitated a second to register at AMA instead. The in-car lessons were helpful I can say, but other than that everything else was not worth a single penny I spent. And now I'm guessing it's going to be another few weeks or maybe months waiting for my certificate to come out since it's been a week already when they said it'd only take a couple of days... -------------------------- Yup, still waiting for the certificate 3 weeks later.. I even called them three times already and they tell me it will be ready on a certain day and when I call them again on that day they postpone it again... Seriously.

This guy Suritam Rai is a scum..he ripped my wife her money after she decided not to proceed with his crap school..my wife told him wednesday Oct 25 that she is not going to proceed with his school and he said yes since the transaction was denied anyway..but saturday he tried again and charge my wife’s accnt after being told not to..my wife keep calling him and he keep evading our calls..he hardly return our money even after land transportation told him to return the money as soon as possible... About the crap school he has, some friends I know took their lesson on this school and was not even brought to drive crowchild or stoney..much more to deerfoot or downtown...ripped money from them by not giving them their cert but to continue brush up even after they passed the roadtest exam..

Finally getting around to posting my review - I enrolled in the Class 5 Driver's Course in Oct-Nov 2018. As a person in their late 20s who had never driven and had no family to teach me, my enrollment in their course was essential. The class room portion was surprisingly engaging considering the dry subject matter. The instructors did a good job of ensuring full class participation and offered a lot of helpful tips to prepare for the written test. For the driving portion I had Robert who I found to be a very good instructor. He helped me feel calm and confident in my driving. I was able to pass my driving exam on the first try under tough conditions (snowing and Black Friday traffic). Thank you Derek Brown's Academy!

Just want to start out by saying I now have my Class 1. My instructor was Karen, she was amazing, informative and always had my best interest at heart. If it wasn't for her I would have never passed my test. She only wanted me to succeed. She knew what my weaknesses were and we worked on them. She was tough sometimes but that's only cause she wanted me to get my license. I appreciate everything she did for me and would go back to her anytime. Thank you to her and the school.

My experience with Derek Brown's Driving School was very positive. 5 STAR all the way! My instructor was Adel and he was very consistent in his training, going over the fundamentals as many times as needed in order for me to get every point nailed down and to not miss anything. The training was solid, thorough, descriptive and fun. I now understand air breaks and the safety checks needed to insure safe driving. Adel is my model for confidence and competence and those traits become a part of me as his trainee. Sue was also especially helpful in setting up my training schedule as I needed to fit my schooling in and around my work priorities. Very helpful and encouraging all around.

VERY ACCOMMODATING I could tell that they wanted you to succeed and they were very helpful in making sure that they do what they can to help me. Sue helped me in getting my certificate so that I can submit it for insurance. Robert was my instructor and I love the way he teaches. We practiced a lot of types of parking and the way he taught me (using the markings in the car to park well) was great.

My driving instructor was Robert and he was absolutely fantastic! He was patient and instilled confidence in me during every lesson. I’m a very visual learner and he took it in stride and gave me lots of visual cues and also used toy cars to help me understand exactly what was going on around me and how the smallest turn could effect my parking. I never thought I would be able to parallel park but taught me in 5 minutes and I’ve never felt more confident. Thank you for making my lessons the very best they could be!

I had never driven before starting my lessons with Tahsin. he was incredibly supportive and patient while teaching me and his lessons were so much fun. Was extremely nervous for my test but his tips and techniques were very useful and helped me pass my test on the first attempt! He provided so much motivation and improved my confidence in various aspects of driving which I was ver nervous about before. I would 100% recommend Driving 101 to my friends and family. If you want to learn to drive confidently and correctly, this is the school for you :)

I would not reccomend to anyone that doesn't have a set schedule. ESPECIALLY NOT DURING THE SUMMER .The drivers are spread so thin that you have to make driving appointments 3 weeks in advance and even then if they mess up booking they don't find a way to rectify it . If you want to get your driving lessons done quickly look for another school or wait till winter .

I can’t say enough good things about my driving instructor, Solveig. She is absolutely amazing! In less than a month she improved my driving from barely being able to drive in an empty parking lot to passing my drivers test on the first try. She was exactly what I needed, she was calm and patient but also forced me out of my comfort zone in the kindest way possible. Everyday when I came home from driving with her I was amazed at how confident I felt. She’s also super funny and a pleasure to hang out with for two hours a day, would definitely recommend. The only negative thing I have to say about Driving 101 is in regards to the face-to-face class sessions, I would definitely recommend spending the extra $50 to take it online.

Don from Quality driving school was my instructor, he is immensely experienced with all the basic and advanced things one is required to do while driving a car. He is very patient and explains each action every time you ask him. He puts some real life analogies to make you understand the actions you are performing while driving. Met the most accomodating and understanding receptionist ever, Tina, then had the most horrendous in vehicle training with Susan. So insensitive, impatient, intolerant, inconsiderate , overtly hasty and assuming..even after I told her I hadn't driven anything my entire life.. On one occassion, I asked her to give me tips on how to drive straight and she said she couldn't teach me that....She literally said it was frustrating having to teach me. An instructor? She needs to be delicensed or whatever it is they do to such calibre of instructors. Anyways, Henry took over and I gained my confidence back. Would recommend Quality but Susan is a MASSIVE NO. She gives the school a bad name.

Didn’t attend your school but just drove behind one of your students/teacher. What are you teaching these kids? To drive 10kmh under the speed limit is not safe driving. It just promotes frustration with others around which could lead to road rage. Also, when someone tries to pass because of your slow speed, don’t tell the kid to switch lanes and block that car. It happened twice to me and both times the kid pulled into the “passing lane” when he/she could have stayed in the right lane.

Brent taught me the lecture portions and he made it interesting and worth the time. John my driving instructor was amazing. His calm attitude helped me remain calm and get through a lot of my fears. I definitely recommend Proactive Driving School. John Odlum was a great driving instructor. Compared to lessons received at a different driving school, John was indeed far superior. I did the novice course with the theory via the online route. Worked will for me. Before deciding on Proactive Driving School, I contacted seven other schools phoning the numbers provided on their websites, or completing their online forms. Six never even came back to me. Proactive Driving School on the other hand promptly returned my calls whenever I could not reach them, and their admin and feedback from start to finish were extremely efficient. Here I must highly praise both ladies working at reception (I mostly dealt with a very friendly Antonia).

I Highly recommend this driving school. I did the 10 hour insurance reduction course. My Driving instructor was John Odlum , and my in class teacher was Brett. Brett was a super chill and funny guy and made 15 hours of theory pass by fast and fun. John was a super friendly calm, and professional. He made my driving experience super relaxed, and never felt stressed when going on highways at all, i got to learn new skills, tips and build lots of confidence very pleased. Worst truck driving school on the planet. Should be called unprofessional truck driving school. Waste of time and money. I would not recommend this business to anyone and it is borderline fraud. The truck is dirty, the instructors vehicle was extremely dirty. The receptionist and the instructor both used foul language. The instructor talked about politics and mentioned how he is starting a political party and how he would run Canada. What a disgrace. I wouldn't even trust this guy to run a semi-legit truck driving school.

Working with The professional truck driving school has been great ! They've been extremely accommodating with my needs and work schedule. The instructor Harry is extremely knowledgable and learning from him is easy. He can answer any question you have and he shows you how to run a rig properly. They do the air brake course directly at their office and do the road test out of their yard Which is very convieneint. Very laid back atmosphere and great people to work with. I want to personally thank both Harry and Bev for a fantastic experience in achieving my Class 1! Harry was incredibly patient, calm, cool and collected. He doesn't hesitate to point out where you could be improving, and that's something I appreciate very much. Originally signed on for a ten hour course, found that down-shifting while driving in Calgary traffic was not as easy as I had hoped it would be, so I extended my course to 20 hours. Harry not once suggested this, he let me arrive at that conclusion on my own. Again, this is something I appreciate in an instructor. Truck is clean and well maintained. So, to recap my experience; achieved my Class 1 license in 20 hours, never having driven something of that size on a road. This license has got me noticed up here as well! Went to a job-fair, and nine times out of ten, had the class 1 license circled and my resume starred on the corner because of it. Even if you aren't thinking of becoming a long-haul driver, if you are looking to set yourself apart from the crowd, a Class 1 or 3 license and air-brakes are a hell of a way to do that. And if you ARE looking for training, I cannot recommend any place more highly than training with Harry and Bev at the Professional Truck Driving School Ltd. p.s. Harry's prices whip the hell out of other places in the city, where I would have spent double what I did. On a tight budget, this was awesome! Same experience!

Whether your a parent who’s looking to get their child licensed or an adult. The Driving Training Center is honestly the best place to go to. Roger does an incredible job in the classroom. I always ended the class session well informed and ready to take on the road. As a person who is a bit nervous, a weee bit anxious and in full disclosure didn’t think I would ever be able to drive or feel comfortable driving just ended my last lesson feeling comfortable and confident. And I’m even sad that the lessons are over because I truly enjoyed my experience! However I’m ready to take on my drivers test. Rod is an amazing teacher and I couldn’t have had someone better. If your extremely nervous and uncomfortable, he will change that. With Rod in the car, your relaxed and having a good time. His dad jokes were pretty ace, and had me laughing a lot. Most importantly Greg, Rod, and Roger want to see you safe and succeed. No place in Calgary will provide you that sort of comfort and confidence. A true and genuine thank you to all of you. Jolene

I totally recommend this driving school for anyone looking! I am a very anxious driver and suffer from test anxiety. The in class portion was great, I learned a lot. I really like that they offer a buddy program, it made the program more interesting and it was awesome to have someone to chat about the lessons with afterwards...plus, saving $50 isn't bad at all! The in car lessons were great, I loved driving around with Rod and he did a lot to help me ease my anxiety behind the wheel. I just completed my 10 hours of driving and received my certificate from my awesome instructor, Rod. At 32 years old, I had about 5 minutes of driving experience prior to starting the program and now feel so comfortable behind the wheel I will be booking my road rest ASAP. The buddy program is awesome, we each saved $50, and having someone to do the classes with and talk about the lessons with certainly helped alot with our nerves! Class was very educational, and the driving instruction exemplarary!

I recommend anyone wanting to learn to drive to come here. They are reasonably priced and I was able to pass the test on my first try! I had Greg teach me and he's great at calming your nerves if you're nervous, super funny guy. He's very knowledgeable and will give you great tips/tricks to pass the test.The 10 hours of practice driving are split up and they are pretty flexible with scheduling. The in-class portion can be dry but necessary, they try to get you through it as pain free as possible.

Very good teaching overall (parallel is taught through 3 step process, uphill/downhill parking is covered extensively). Had issues with how instructor would ask to drive to Tim Horton's to grab a coffee/washroom break during a specified 2 hour lesson. Also, did not teach parking in a normal parking lot. The instructor is kind and patient but often just looks at his phone. Don't be nervous, they're understanding + will highlight what you did wrong and ask you to reflect. You'll easily pass your first driving test with this school.

Used this driving school back in 2015, the driving was fine it only started to suck when I asked for a replacement certificate since I misplaced mine and they told me they do not keep the records. They take your money, but do not keep the records for the years the certificate is active? Sounds pretty scummy to me. Would not recommend.

Apex driving school was well worth the money! So much cheaper than AMA, with the exact same instruction and learning. I did all 10 hours in about 2 weeks and I just got my license this morning after my last lesson. They take you around where your test will be, so I was completely familiar with the roads, turns, intersections, etc on my road test. They do kinda get you to go and run "errands" as in grabbing money from other students in the program, and my instructor was on his phone more often then I thought he should be, but it was always business calls and nothing personal that I know of. But I do highly recommend this school. I passed first try, and I am so happy it's over with and I can officially drive myself around now!

First of all , these people have no care for any type of customer service or professionalism. Starting with lack of communication and frankly a lack of care for the customer these people are basically a scam and should not be able to call themselves a business. They hung up and failed to call back multiple times - giving no info whatsoever about how it works or the in-class booking - and to top it all off were rude and could not even help the situation in any way. After making my way all the way to the class address that was given - having taken a day off from work - the worker at this driving school for the classes informed me there is no class today and the person I was in contact with at apex should have told me. Then after barely getting her on the phone she told me that they were cancelled and that I had gone to the wrong school - she hadn’t sent the correct address. Not even admitting her mistake I made her send me the new address and as I was making my way there she TEXTS me and says those classes are cancelled as well. Then after my MOTHER talked to her and told her to get the owner to call back immediately - still a week later there was no communication (because they had gotten their money) these frauds did not even bother to call; apologize, or rebook my class. And when calling again she actually hung up on my mother and refused to give the name of the owner. This kind of disrespect and lack of courtesy and professionalism is disgusting. Would not recommend to anyone because it was clear how little they care once the the money was given. For the amount of money taken from us for their service (or lack there of) is worth nothing. DISGUSTING. (Still haven’t called back)

the lady instructor was very rude. first off she asked me to drive to tim's to get herself a coffee. then I booked for two days of one hour sessions and all of a sudden without telling me, she did the whole 2 hrs in one day. and she asked me to drive to her house and she was inside for 10 mins. i wish i can remember her name but never again. this happened October of 2017.

This man is a crook. He's has an angry problem and needs help. I can't understand how he's still in business. I'm sure he allows people to just pay him for their certificate without even taking the class. I was at a driving school and his wife was there waiting on someone and she told me to come to their school it would be cheaper .so I did. I did my classes with her she was nice but Randy is rude person and told me to come to meet him to get there certificate and then proceeded to scream and yell at me infornt of the class. I didn't stay but got the certificate. He wasn't impressed that I stood up to him and yelled back. Didn't like a woman speaking on his level .biggest douche bag ever.

Recently we used the services of Randy's Driving School for my mother that just recently moved to Calgary. Randy is extremely rude and unprofessional. He was yelling at my mother,who is 76 years old by the way. I was in the car during all the lessons to help her and translate. I would be fired on spot from my job if I was behaving like him, I am certain that he has significant financial and personal issues if we dig deeper. Bad teacher! Only interested in extracting as much money as possible from the student if he is sensing that there is a potential to extract more. Business like that should never be allowed to operate in Canada. They have pricing for there class 5 packages- but when you try to get the Silver package that is for ANYONE who has a class 5 and is wanting a refresher. Website does not state that - shows Randy’s Driving School offers several courses to help you earn your Class 5 licence. Our instructors will make sure you have the experience and understanding to drive in all conditions. Our courses include Dont be fooled by them. Cant believe they dont honor what there website states!

I took the driving program to ease my nerves.... however after driving with Randy I can't say that he helped me at all, during this driving course he yelled at me a few times and he was inpatient. I did pass my drivers test and years later still haven't received my certificate!! Ive attempted a few times right after my program to get my certificate and still never recived it (i went to the office a few times and tried meeting up with him) i called recently as my insurance would like a copy and Randy was unwilling to give me a certificate, after I've paid for this course and regardless of the time that has passed I think I'm owed a certificate I did pay for it!!!! I strongly advise AGAINST attending Randy's driving school!!

I can't say enough about the efficiency with which the instructors teach you driving and parking skills. I had classes with two instructors, Ms. Iqbal and Ms. Sarah, both of whom (over a period of ten classes) made me feel confident enough about my driving so that when it was time to take the test, I passed in my first attempt. If you are a new driver trying to get GDL 5, or an older driver trying to brush up on your skills, you HAVE to visit this school and see what they are all about. It will be money well spent, I assure you.

I'm so happy ! With all the laws changing, I was so nervous. I learned with Sam and with my first hour of driving I noticed I was not as nervous. I passed my class 5 on the first try. It's not easy to pass the test but with the help from Sam, a professional it helped alot and without him I wouldn't have passed the first try. So I highly recommend this driving school. When it comes down to the safety of others and yourself money shouldn't matter . He cares about your success as well as your safety on the road. 5 star recommend.
